Hey guys,
I was looking for a new ROM for my Note 3 after having using CM11 for the past few months and after seeing the HTC One I wanted to give it a try. Well at least the firmware.
Is there any sort of port or proper theme which works for the Note 3?
Using Apex etc usually leaves you with a bunch of annoying bugs and drains your battery so does anyone know a better solution?
Thanks!
P.s If you want to suggest a similar looking Rom or another Rom that looks good feel free to post it.

There's no such port in the making/released as of yet. You could try a CM11 theme, but launcher themes shouldn't slow your phone down.

Hmm fair enough.
What theme would you suggest? As of now I havent really found any good ones. I found the odd sloppy one but I wasnt too impressed.

Afternoon all,
Is there a pure KitKat Rom for Note 3? Best one recommended?
Is there a pure ROM with any of the Samsung features included? Because I still use SPen etc but not everything.
Finally I have a S5 theme on my Note 3 at the moment ( only new icons ) is there a way to use the icons on all the UI not just the home screens and app drawer?
Thank you all for help
Well, there is always the AOSP side of the story if you want a pure kitkat like experience. You will however, lose all spen functionality. And as well, you will be knoxed. Flashing roms requires root etc (unless you already are rooted)
As for the app icons, maybe there are some leaked s5 apps you can install for the look and feel of that?

I will deff check it out and if it's really great I'd stick to it. I flash almost any 'cool' looking rom, give it a try for a few hours and if I don't like it I usually just jump back down to CM11
Yeah cm11 is darn cool too !!

But I don't prefer any cm or aosp based roms as gaming doesn't go that well with them as I am hardcore gamer  I am too waiting for Miui to fix those bugs ( like data and all ) As they are fixed I'll be happy to try it on my G2 !! Also I miss Miui music player
I am still using MIUI on Motorola Defy. I will test it.
I am going to try it out for sure. But in the past, I have had some bad experiences with bugs and lag on MIUI. So let's see what happens.
I like the design, so I hope for the best

We've all been there, the excitement of a shiny new phone wears off and that feeling of boredom starts to sink in.
I've had my Note 4 for a couple of months now and starting to feel a bit jaded by it. Was wondering what you guys personally due to keep things interesting. Such as new rom, launcher, etc.
Any and all info welcome.
Only a couple of months, really?

Yea, replaced a Note 2. Definitely a nice upgrade but just wanted to spice it up a bit. I've kept the ROM stock, running latest COK1 update unrooted with Nova Launcher. With my older phones I would typically try a different ROMs but I've been down that road before and CM just doesn't seem exciting anymore. The Note 5 port looks interesting but worried about stability as my phone is relied upon for work use. Anyone have any feedback about that port? Good for a daily driver? If not any others you recommend?

Been using the note 5 port as my daily rom for a very long time. No issues whatsoever for me.
No custom rom needed so far. If I'm bored I just try to use different launchers or homescreen layouts to keep things interesting. Except for the stock settings it almost feels like a new phone then.
Running OK1 unrooted with Smart Launcher Pro 3. I'm not bored.
Z Launcher Beta by Nokia did it for me. I don't think I can go back to a normal launcher now.
Plus I use Smart Weather Wallpaper so basically every hour or so I have a different wallpaper automatically and it changes depending on the current weather and time of day. It is not a resource or battery hog at all.
Then I enabled the Live Weather wallpaper for my lockscreen and that automatically changes depending on weather and time of day.
So basically, almost every time I look at my phone it looks different, automatically. I really love this phone again! Enjoy!
Toast skin. It'll make it feel like a whole new phone.

I'm talking about software. I have an aluminum bumper and glass screen protector which is great. Keeps the phone as close as possible to caseless size and weight while still being protected.
When I have some bread that feels stale, I spray a bit of water on it and nuke it in the microwave for 5 or so seconds.
Just sayin'.
Played with ROM's on my N2, got the N4 on opening day and have been busy ever since.
Just now slowing down enough to consider playing. I've tried a few of the newer ROM's and they are great. Especially like the OBAR. However visually I would like something similar to the Alliance ROM. Something with lots of choices of pre-made themes as well as the ability of granular tweaks to the theme. Unfortunately while it does boot I am having too many issues with it and a majority of themes do not even have a preview. Nor do a lot of the settings seem to work. (Yes I did flash the color fix.)
I'm on 5.1.1 COK1 (well Alliance is 5.0.1 but I'm headed back to OBAR)
Give me a head start, is there any framework, app or ROM that I should start looking at?
What are your suggestions...
Thanks in advance
MBK
I was searching for this theming options too... i like to be stock but really liked the note 5 and htc theming apps and official theme stores. They are deep and change the whole phone personality..
Wondering if any here using or know best ways to use stock themes app for sprint note 4??

Thanks for the reply, I admit I haven't delved in deep to xposed but I thought it allowed you to tweak things. Wasn't aware there were full blown themes available in it. I'll have to check it out.

Yea i me either but it works well since Android 5.1 seems to be soo hard to theme.
xposed seem to be pretty stable but you will have to try out modules to your liking
i use wanam of course but xblast and screen off animation modules
well to give me these lil tweaks but you can do much more
the fan on the side is pie but the screen off gives me my crt off animation and more
Hi ? everybody i have the S8 no even 2 months with this gorgeous device i wanna ask about your Pie experience Did you like it? Performance ? Do you like the new looks? Do the themes applies well on pie? Do you prefer pie or samsung experience ?
I see soo much bad comments on the aspect of this new version of software im doubting to upgrade
I strongly recommend you to upgrade to pie. Try and see the difference.
I love One UI. Im not a complainer with technology so maybe im not the person to ask, if it works well im happy i have real things to do than complain. But for me personally no issues and love the icons and the ui layout. Also full screen with no nav keys is nice to have. Im stll on ZSAI beta 3 i havent even gone to stable and it all works fine. Been using Pie since first beta... performance is good. however i dont play games but its fine for me to call, email, sms, and use insta, camera and browser. If thats your use then no problem its worth doing
yes you should, everything is working fine and there are a couple of nice new features
those of you that have One UI already on their S8 installed - can you check and see whether the "HIGH CONTRAST THEME" from the Samsung Theme store is still compatible with PIE?!
I am just holding off my the One UI b/c I am want to be sure that that theme works b/c I love it so much...I don't want to lose compatibility...THX
