Note 3 home button is not fixed into its place, it keeps wiggling around and is very annoying. Is this a common problem does anyone else have the same issue? I have a n9005 Uk version.

No idea i havent open my note3 yet but i guess its because samsung didnt add the clamps like old classic phone have, I cant really answer if there's a fix for that
My N9005 doesn't seem to have that problem. I'm not entirely sure what you are talking about.
Seriously, search function. It's there for a reason.

Not true all Note3 have that issue, mine doesn't.

Hi all,
About 2 weeks ago I noticed the bottom left of my screen would activate by itself repeatedly. This mostly seemed to happen when I was trying to type something. It carried on for a while so tonight I flashed a romkitchen rom (2.3.3) (I was on 2.2.1 before), thinking it might be a bug in the system somewhere. Well the problem is still there and I;ve discovered it's always that same corner of the screen that does it no matter what orientation I have it in. I can't even sign into the market at the moment because it makes it impossible to type and the screen ends up freezing until I press the home screen.
Is there anything this could be other than a hardware issue? I did a full factory reset etc during the flashing process.
If I need to send it back would I need to flash it back to stock? I bout my phone from O2 in the UK, where can I get the correct firmware? samfirmware has loads but how do I know which one I need?
Thanks in advance!
Sounds like a hardware issue. Did it ever get rained on or something? Do you use a screen protector?
You might want to edit the topic title, although it is quite funny. Read it and think a bit.
ROFLMAO
That is by far the funniest thread title I've seen on here yet
It does sound like a hardware issue though.
Hehe....nice title

No water damage or anything. I do use a screen protector but it looks flawless in the affected corner

It happens at random. Sometimes it works fine. Not related to being plugged in though
I know someone that had the same issue, though it was with the Vibrant (not i9000m). He sent it to samsung, but it still has the same problem, though not as frequent. I haven't seen him in a while so I'm not sure if he ever got it resolved...

Just to eliminate all possible outside influences, take the protector off and clean the screen really well - and see if it still does it. If it does, then bring it in and try your best to be convincing

I'll see how it goes with the protector off. I think my screen is failing though as now on occassion the screen will completely freeze and I have to put it to sleep and wait a few minutes for it to start working again.
Can anyone point me in the direction of carrier specific stock firmwares? I can only find stock android ones.
Thanks,

this is so true
I've had the same problem. Unlocked SGS on Orange UK. The problem was on/off for a while but eventually got so bad I couldn't use the phone, removing screen protector made no difference.
I stuck an old Froyo build on and took it into carphonewarehouse, they sent it off and it was fixed in their repair centre. No problems since and that was 4 months ago.
Not sure how you would go about getting the operators rom on there but I'm sure you can mess around with Kies to get it to download the one you want.

Think that's what I'll have to do then. Hadn't thought of using Kies, thanks for that. I'll whack a stock 2.1 rom on there and see if it will update to 2.2 through kies.

Thanks, it's a bit unclear which one is what. I'll look into it a bit more.
P.S. how does the multi-quote work on here. When I select the threads I want to quote and press post reply nothing happens
had for 6 months and the touch screen has become very unresponsive not massivly but sometimes annoying i have since root and installed rom, i will put back to stock and lock bootlosder, so i want to get mine replaced however i have quite few (scratches) (big ones) not cracks, will this affect it?
many thanks
No, no problems.
I had a a crack at the back. But it has nothing to do with the power button failure right?

Yes. Samsung wouldnt I guess. They even didnt want to fix a hardware problem if you were rooted in the past. Google is much more tolerant with this things.

Planning to buy a g2 but read some people have issues with the screen with touchscreen issues. How common is this issue? Is this fixable by software patch?

Very common. Do a search. Cause is still unknown.
thx for the reply.. is it independent on model version? I want to buy the korean version... not sure I will get one now considering it's pricey and prone to screen issues
It happens to every version. I had mine fixed a few months ago and it's happening again.

that's a major letdown... so disappointing.. is it software or hardware fault?

apparently an update fixed it??
edit: looking at the thread I can see a lot of people still having the issue.. unfortunately Lg G2 is a no for me although it seemed to be the perfect phone for me... going to look at the galaxy s4 now. Thx for the replies
I never had a problem and when I did have a screen problem it was because I had a JDI one and I fixed it. Its an awesome phone (Better than S4) so you should really try playing with it. Rooting it is also another option and I dont think custom roms give you the touchscreen problem.

Since when I had my phone repaired and they had to change out my prox sensor, screen, and digitizer, I really think it's a hardware issue.
Just had to have my D801 replaced by T-Mobile for an issue where the screen was picking up two finger touches instead of just one in a small area in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Warranty replacement was easy but I wish this wasn't an issue.. I love this phone.

I was going to do that with TMO, but they wanted $19.99 "processing fee" or something ridiculous. On top of that, I'd get a refurb device. I ended up going through LG - they had my phone for about two weeks.
Like I said though, the issue is back..
as i was going to buy the korean version without warranty... I think it is not a wise decision to do that seeing so many issues with the lg g2 screen... I am disappointed as this phone looked like my ideal phone with ideal screen size (not too big, not too small) with a good camera... but I don't want to take a risk on the screen issue.. I have the htc desire and it has issue with multitouch and it is very frustrating (can't even rotate on gmaps) ... I don't want this again lol

That's weird. I only had to pay $5 processing. The guy said because I was on the JUMP program. Also I got like super expedited shipping for free. I suppose I may have gotten a refurb but a refurb I better than a broken phone. I just hope this doesn't happen again...

Got a galaxy s4. It reboots and sometimes can't turn it on for ages. Then sometimes you can turn it on straightaway.
I had golden eye running it did loads at work last night. tried a few other roms all the same
Seems a bit strange...any ideas anyone?

i would say with yours mate thats just the update being a pain? rather than a real serious issue, theres a thread on xda relating to this update just search for that thread bud
Its strange so far with this s4
ive replaced the battery with a battery from ebay, looks like an official samsung one..no difference
reverted to stock..no change still reboots.
tried a few custom roms, reboots occurs. tried google edition, still the same
lowered processor speed, for some reason when i go to rom toolbox the phones whacking out at 1820 mhz..i dont know if thats normal?
another strange issue. When the phone switches on it takes a fair while for the mobile network to connect, ive owned a fair few phones but this one really does take a long time,
anyone have any idea at all, before i got to send it back to samsung and wait for 5 years to get it back
If it shuts down and you can't reboot anymore, then it's a hardware issue.

No..at times what happens is that the power button gets stuck and it does not release...or maybe there is some glitch in the hardware underneath the button..

Thank god that someone else also noticed that... I was thinking I was going crazy or something, hahaha...
So, does anyone have any news about this issue? Has anybody confirmed it to be a software-only problem or there's still a chance of this to be a hardware problem?
There's so few people talking about it that I was afraid I've got a faulty phone... I was even considering returning my note 4 through the warranty policy!

I think it is firmware problem.
Same issue, went to Samsung store, the guys there told me that they've never heard about this... I'm waiting for the update to 5.0.1 and if it persists I'll return the unit under warranty. Very disappointing... after 2 years with no issues with the Note 2, this issue drives me crasy especially because I receive more than 50 calls a day.
