Camera function - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Actually can android wear have a camera function in terms of software and hardware at recent? (Not the remote one)
I know all the Android smartwatches don't have this function but it'll be great if one having it comes, which must be much better than the awful Galaxy Gear (2).

It's even easier than that.
Why does this even matter, It is absolutely pointless.
If you want android get an android phone, if you want ios get an iphone.
You might want to add the battery capacity of both devices?!

it shouldn't be a question...
everything in xperia Z blows up ip5
and the price will be lower too :\
You should've asked yourself, what you need and what you dont. if it was me, of course I prefer Z all the way. Taste-wise.
Why do you people even bother to make threads like this?
I think everyone knows about the 'compare' feature on gsmarena.com . If not, google it.
And I do believe (now for the 99999^999^999 time) that this has been discussed before;
You choose your phone based on what you're used to and what you want.
You choose a phone based on how it looks to you. You only, you don't go asking about for your own opinion!
And, last, but most important; You choose a phone based on fluidity and how it works out for you...
I didn't choose my phone because 'it's great, a flagship' and all that duck... I got it because I said 'I need a new phone' so I went to the shop, saw what they had, tried those phones out and bought my nozomi! If a HOX or GS3 would have the same features as the nozomi, I'd buy another phone!
Z design is the best, and specs is enough for 2013 - i think, i'll buy it, not IP5 or S4 or. ....
how about bluetooth transferring, wifi direct, usb otg???
and WHAT about the new/incredible/absurd feature called
connect-and-copy ?
versus the connect-and-open itunes-and-synchronize-and-manage what it has done ?

I would add to the iPhone better optimization , better calibrated screen and better gaming thanks to the great gpu and lower resolution screen and maybe even better speakers and integrated earphones, to the Sony I would add the exmor rs camera and its f1.8.

Why iphone 5? No one here cares about it. Besides, the Xperia Z is the iphone 5s/6 competitor. The Xperia T is the iphone 5 competitor and even the Xperia T wins so no point comparing the iphone 5 with the Z.
Xperia Z is pretty much the first contestant of 2013 flagships. It doesn't have a sparring partner yet and having it beat up on the iphone 5 is not thread worthy. Maybe have it beat up on the Droid DNA instead or wait for the HTC M7 or Optimus G pro to start the versus threads.

Android Lollipop for Z1 - Rejoice: improved camera API!

Hey folks!
As you may or may not know, Android Lollipop was recently announced with a lot of new features, and Sony mentioned it's coming to the Z1 as well. One of these features however is barely mentioned by news articles, but it could make a world of difference to the Xperia Z1, potentially making the device a whole lot better.
It's the new Camera API I'm talking about. If you bought the Z1 for its camera capabilities, don't you hate how you're unable to manually set exposure (contrary to the "adjustment" slider)? Don't you hate how quite a few high-end devices are now able to shoot in RAW format but you can't? Don't you hate how you cannot change manual focus? Fear not, for the new Camera API in Android Lollipop will add all of this, possibly even to our devices.
<check the features of this experimental L Camera app to see what features are working on Android Lollipop already for the Nexus 5>
Disclaimer: I'm not 100% sure all of these features will make its way to the Z1 of course - but in my eyes it's more likely than not that Sony will update their camera application for this.
Interesting. If this is correct, then Z1 will be way better in camera performance.
Can't wait to see what's new in Sony's firmware.
Yeah i',m really looking forward to RAW as well.

[Q] 3 Missing Camera Features - How to add them?

Hello,
First of all, i'm very satisfied with the Note 3's Camera. It's very useful and makes very good pictures and is also very fast. The shutter lag is very short in sports mode, and i also love the [email protected] and 4K-Recording. The User Interface of the camera is also designed very well, and it's got a giant amount of features. :good:
Please note, that i've got (the lastest) Android 4.3, because 4.4.2 is very bogus and Lollipop's User Interface is very ugly and lost many features.
But here are three software-features, that you can add, by installing the S6 and M9 Camera APK, but they are only supported from Android 5.0/higher.
1. Real-Time-equivalent Slow Motion / HFR
I'd like to record it like i described it right here, because the displayed playback speed in the player is equivalent to Real-Time and because Audio is recorded. This is also, how the Galaxy S6's Camera Software Application does it.
2. 1440p Video Recording
This is what i need, when i'd like to take a video, which is better than FullHD 1080p, but doesn't eat up as much space as 4K-Video. This is, what the Note 4/S6 Camera application also is capable of.
Bitrates:
FHD - 17 MBit/s
WQHD - 28 MBit/s (like [email protected])
4K-UHD and DCi-4K: 50 MBit/s (sometimes around 48)

3. Zero Pause Lag/Delay
This is, what the HTC One M9 can do - even in 4K. The last phone i know, which can do this is the Omnia 2.
It allows you, to Rec/Pause/Rec/Pause/etc... a video, without any lag/delay.
You can hit the rec/pause button, as fast as you want, and it always reacts.
The Note 4 and S6 have got a pause delay of around two seconds.
Off-Topic:
Here's a list of small things, that are also missing on the Note 3-Camera, but are less important currently.
Hardware
Physical Shutter Button (Priority: 60 %)
OIS Camera (every Flagship Smartphone newer than Med-2014 should have OIS.) (Priority = 70 %)
Mechanical Shutter (makes Picture quality a little bit better but is not so important) Prior.= 20 %
Software
The disadvantages below are so small, that they're pretty much off-topic. I'm satisfied with the Note 3 Camera.
Selective Focus
Tap-to-shoot
AF/AE Lock
Manual Camera Settings
Color Spectrum RGB Sensor (low Priority) (As known from the LG G4)
Laser Auto Focus (low Prior) (as known from LG G3 and G4)
Burst Shot Limit - higher than just 20
Lossy digital zoom is useless. Only Lossless Digital Zoom is good.

I'm still very satisfied with the Note 3 Camera. ♥
Every help is highly appreciated. But please take this thread seriously.
The main Problem is, that every useful app is only supportet on Android Ugly Edition 5.0.
I don't like the case, if the lowest API that an app supports is 19 or higher.
I miss the old pretty times, where the Note 2 (with it's beautiful TouchWiz Nature UX 1.0) with it's Android 4.0.4 or 4.1.2 or where the Note 3/10.1(2014) with their superior User Interface (TouchWiz NatureUX 2.5) and Android 4.3 were the newest. Then 4.4 ruined all software. Now 5.0 comes with a ruined U/UX.
Also the S5's UI was OK, but lost some features. I like this ocean blue of the S5.
The Note 4's UI+Hardware lost too many features.

Heard of launchers and themes?
And TW is never nice.
Tap-to-Shoot
The Tap-to-Shoot-Feature, which is activated by tapping somewhere in the Viewfinder, isn't in the S4, but actually it does exist on the Note 3.
I have not seen it before.
My large Post in the following link also includes some camera disadvantages, that also hit the Note 3:

ShutterLag: Good but could be better.

IA for camera

Hello everyone,
Do you think that we can port IA from huawei to oneplus for camera app ?
I don't really how it works but is it hardware or software implementation ? Is there a potential way to bring this feature to oneplus ?
It's not as simple as porting it, artificial intelligence is usually implemented on a device by device basis. It's also not a small piece of software as it's meant to imitate intelligence to varying degrees, which requires not justly extensive programming knowledge but to an extent how the mind works to implement

A7 2018 community missing?

Hello everybody, i was looking into the a7 2018 forum and it looks like no one has this phone! There isn't a single custom rom or recovery, not even a guide to root the phone.
But if you look on facebook or the official forum there is plenty of people asking for features and more.
I mean this phone has problems right now and samsung is doing nothing to solve them, there is a huge gap that can be filled by modders.
Stuff like:
- It has a 24.8mp Sony IMX 576 sensor but there is a problem in the image processing, Samsung is using the Superpixel feature that turn 4 pixel into 1 for a brighter image during low light captures, and because of this a lot of details of the camera are loss, is there a way to switch off this feature that right now it's always ON even during the day.?
- It has the same sensor of the A9 but it's lock to 1080/30fps for marketing purposes, the A9 is able to record in 4k/30, can someone modify the camera features in order to enable the 4k/30 or even more 4k/60?
- This phone is able to record real 720/960fps for 1/3 of a second, but it is lock to record in slowmo at 720p/120 and 240, is there a way to bring it up to at least 1080p?
There is so much potential in this phone and no one is looking into it.
To be honest, I would not be surprised if no one had this phone, as for the same price you can now buy an unused S7 which can e.g. record 720p/240 and its specs are quite a bit better honestly; I am not saying that you made a mistake buying the A7 – I would actually do the same if I preferred bigger phones.
IMO the S7 offers the best price to quality ratio though.
P.S. I personally own an A3 2016, purchased in 2016, as it cost was relatively low.
