if something were to exist also as a framework for my phone signaled me please?
The need arises from the fact that in my area 4g takes the bad and the vrrei keep on 3g but when I move the switcherei on the fly from the home page
thank you
+1 more
I already tried some apps but only directs to the network settings!

No 4G in your area? This may get you on 4G!
Hop from H to E? This will lock on HSDPA and stop hopping to Edge
Why? Your phone automatically drops to Edge if HSDPA signal is to low to Android Standards. You can actually use HSDPA with a much weaker signal then they recommend. This tweak locks on HSDPA and prevents drop to Edge
Warning: If you get no reception, switch back to 'WCDMA Preferred'
Step 1: Open Dialer App, Enter *#*#4636#*#* (A menu will appear)
Step 2: Select Phone information
Step 3: Change Set preferred network type: to WCDMA only
You can also download Anycut app and select to make a shortcut instead of having to dial that all the time
...or download the app "Network" from the App Market
Old news is old. This still wont help if you get 2 bars or less of 3g.

Exactly what I did...however I can NEVER find it because it's such a generic name and gets totally buried in market garbage. I always have to rely on the fact it's in my Titanium backup. I had to send my friend the APK off mine cause we could not for the life of us find it in the market again.
I found search for wcdma and network

Omg this is great! Thank you for this!
Thanks! I'll try to give the "network" app a try now.
Thank you for the info!
Hmmm interesting will give it a go [email protected] bradley thanks for the app name, all works fine with New Z Radio.

Hello I bought a 7.7 galaxy tab and the sound recorder didn't appear.
If I go to system/app sound recorder.apk is there
How can I do to show it? It use android 3.2.
In the galaxy tab 7.0 plus didn't show too.

sound recorder apk is for internal use only. It is supposed to be hidden by default.
Anyways there is an app that allows you to use sound recorder like a regular app. User interface and everything. It is called "sound recorder" (just look for the one with the android-native icon).
Hope I could help you.

You can buy it from google play. I think it is 0,72€.
My local Vodafone mast/transmitter is faulty on the 3G side, preventing me making/receiving calls, but 2G seems fine when I tried it on an older phone.
There doesn't seem to be an option to put my S4 (GT-i9505) into 2G-only mode....there is an auto 2G/3G option, 3G only option or auto 2G/3G/4G option....nothing else, and naturally, the auto modes put the phone into the (faulty) 3G mode.
Are there any hidden settings that I can change?
Try 4g Toggle in Play Store. In that program you will have an option to change this option.

That simply creates a shortcut to the network options on the phone!
It doesn't do anything else, so what's the point?
Can anyone suggest anything else to help me?
Do you not have a GSM only option in mobile network settings? Is that not anything below 3G?

Weird, my I9505 is through Virgin Mobile but is unlocked, I assumed all variants had the same network modes, excluding LTE/non-LTE.

There is an app to get you into service mode at the below link. Not sure if gsm can be enabled here or not, be very careful with what settings you change here.

I think the Dropbox link doesn't work for me because the full link is not showing, i.e. there is a ... in the middle of the url.
I just tried the google link and it's asking for permission to access this from you.

Thanks.
I've now got and installed the app, but it looks complicated in terms of what I'm trying to achieve.
I've no idea what Bands to select & what issues it could cause if I muckup.
Is there no easier way, or a "nicer" app I could try?
This is still a major issue for me and no-one seems to be able to point me in the right direction.
I was wondering....if I simply turn off "Mobile Data" in the settings, will that automatically put the phone in GSM (non 3G) mode & let me achieve my aim??
I've just tried doing this...there is now no letter next to the signal bars, but the phone can take a call.

Download Advanced Signal Status. Open it then press Additional Info. Press device information and scroll down then change the preferred network type to GSM only.

i9505 2g mode
Thank you so much,
You solved my 2g mode selection, the way maybe short long.
But it works fine.
Hello devs and modders, this http://samsung-updates.com/details/16850/Galaxy_Note_3_Snapdragon/SM-N9005/ZVV/N9005VJUDMJ6.html rom (ZVV, from Brazil) has an option in the Network mode that I like very much to have, LTE ONLY, so I can tether my notebook for gaming when not in home, I know the side effects of this mode and I know I can access a hidden menu to change to that mode [takes too many steps tough], but I would like to have that menu option on other roms or even better any rom with a mod of any kind.
So can someone help me with that?
Cheers
Just edit /data/property/persist.radio.lteon and change it to true (and reboot).

Mine already says true, but it doesn't show the option on the menu. Any idea?
BTW I am running the BTU-N9005XXUDMK2 rom.
No one?

If that is the case it's possible that the SIM card hasn't been updated, or the network provider isn't transmitting any LTE bands?
In my case, the provider is just starting to test 4G networks and I had to change the property and ask for a newer sim card (not sure if that is the case, but I did read somewhere that it might help).

I use the wiiwatch app to access that watch. but it's very limited. I have no way of using the watch sending text messages without the sim card. I can read the text messages but cannot reply unless I have sim card install. (witch in my case I don't have), I depend on the bluetooth/wifi connection from my phone. is there anyway to send or reply to my text messages from my watch?

It's certainly better app then the wiiwatch, atleast I'm able to reply to my text messages and much more, really like it and thank you .
The bluetooth on this watch keep connecting and disconnecting for no reason, and therefore I will lose connection to the app, I don't think is the app itself because even this is happen with wiiwatch as well. If I disconnect/reconnect bluetooth from my phone won't reconnect, I have to disconnect/reconnect bluetooth from my watch and then I will have connection again. anyone else have this issue.
My conclusion for the bluetooth disconnecting/connecting issue may be and more likely is the watch itself has some hidden app to turn off the bluetooth to save power and then turn it on a bit later to connect to the app. however I did look into the files section of the watch and I could not find any folder or app for power saving and since this watch is not rooted I cannot access the hidden apps. I was reading other post from someone who has Lemfo Y3 watch and he says that he was able to disable a hidden app called Battery Master and the method he used is accessing the notification log file using the google gesture app, anyway I did looked into that and no such app (battery master) been found. please if anyone has some success of solving this issue let us know...
I think the only solution is to change this firmware with one (original modified or compatible) that can make Bluetooth call and send sms and with stabile bt connectivity. The problem is don't have one. Just for i4 without camera but don't know if works...
