Not sure what you are really asking. The decision is up to you. If you want to go back, then go back. Personally, I see no reason to but that's just me.
Need a little assistance. I have been searching everywhear for a month to find a recovery for my device. Its the LG Optimus Zone 2 (VS415PP) and thought i found it, it was labled LGOZ2 in the main heading and .zip title so i thought i had it, i flashed it. However it was for the LG Optimus Zone (VS410) and now i dont have a recovery. YAY!!! So I am hoping that someone here on XDA is willing to point me in the right direction to either a CWM, TWRP, Stock or some custom recovery for my device. I know quite a bit about flashing and other things but i dont know how to mod and compile my own recover or any other for my device.lol. Can XDA save me? ^.^
I actually have a copy of this recovery. (I have the same phone, so I know your pain.)

Try both CWM images. I used one of the two and it works for VS145PP1.

This is the recovery you need.
Extract the file to your download folder.
Command to flash:
su -c dd if=/sdcard/Download/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17
(This is assuming it's in your download folder.)
I am currently looking for roms So far 0 exist.
Can anyone point me to a good custom ROM for my device? Also, is there an exhaustive list of custom ROMs available? This is my 3rd android device, and I've been able to find root methods and custom recoveries etc for all 3, but haven't found much development for the LG Optimus Zone 2. Would searching the deep web be useful? I've only been into these things since last July and haven't encountered many people outside of the internet that knows about or is interested in these things.
Any and all guidance is appreciated

What tarp recovery did you use by chance?

Twrp* sorry.
http://androidarea51.com/all-things-root/twrp-cwm-and-a-way-to-boot-to-them!/
daishi4u over @ AA51 compiled CWM and TWRP for the LG Optimus Fuel L34C, which is the TracFone variant of the VS415PP I believe. I read further in the thread where someone else with the VS415PP flashed twrp and the boot.img and had to flash the OS, he then re-flashed only twrp and it worked fine for him. I grabbed flashify from the play store, downloaded twrp 2.8.4.0 from the top of the thread (which is where the preceding url will take you), and flashed the .img. Works like a charm

I'm sorry about the lack of custom Roms. Please tell me... What kind of ROM are you wanting? AOKP, Cyanogen, AOSP, etc. I'm working on a ROM now, however it is still in Dev phase 2. A preferred medium is appreciated!
-Cheers! Meow/TheUnbricker

Personally, I would prefer AOSP, mainly because it is lightweight.

L would be great as it runs much better than KK on majority of devices.

Correction: Do you have a boot partition backed up to a *.img file

It really bugs me when people don't give proper or any details.
Both accounts above (the third-hand account left out some important details) involved the exact same issue and neither poster gave any details worth a damn how to resolve it.
I just got this phone from work and decided to risk rooting and flashing TWRP. Then I did as the other two guys did and flashed the bootloader from the above-mentioned thread @ androidarea51 so VOL+ could be used during boot to get into TWRP. That's where I ran into a snag like the other two guys. I got the LG Security Error and had to use the LG Mobile Support Tool to recover the factory bootloader, recovery, and OS to the phone. Fortunately everything I had added to the phone was still there, so it didn't wipe any data. There are plenty of guides on how to use it.
The bootloader compiled for the Fuel L34C DOES NOT work for the VS415PP - only TWRP and CWM do. Therefore, if you flash either recovery, you must install something like Quickboot that allows rebooting your phone directly into the recovery. Otherwise, you can't use it. (It doesn't just work "like a charm" on it's own as g0nzo made it sound.)
P.S. If anyone wants to take a try at the ROM, I did manage to back it up. It's pretty much factory as I got the phone 2 days ago and did hardly anything with it in that time.
Your out of luck because building you own rom for the Lg optimus zone 2 is utterly impossible!! You would need the source code which is the heart of building a rom. Unless you find a device that is almost identical to the Lg optimus zone 2 you can use the source code from it but I have built roms for my LG G2 and LG optimus L70 and I needed the source code ? Sorry about spilling this news but I will be working on a way to retrieve the code but since the device is a bit old I focus on the later Devices

It's not impossible its actually quite simple, but when you cant get the updater-script then it becomes inpossible. You can find the source code for the LG Optimus Zone 2 here: http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=ALL&search=vs450ppThe G2 is about as far away from the Zone 2 as you can get. The L70 is closer... but still not good enough.
Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well.
I purchased a used G2 a couple weeks ago and activated it on the Sprint (Ting) network. The previous owner seems to have made a failed attempt at rooting the device; There is a SuperSu app in the app drawer but it doesn't work (missing binary) and RootChecker fails.
I've tried using StumpRoot but the "Grind" button is greyed out, as well as IORoot but the flash fails.
If anyone has any tips I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise, if you need any more information about the device just let me know and I'll be sure to post it!
same problem
Android Noob
I just got my g2 ls980zve 4.4.2. My device is not rooted but stump root keep saying your device is rooted. And i couldnt find a proper root guide for this update. Help...!
Best solution: use one of the ZVC tot files and take it back to pure stock, then do the OTA upgrade to ZVD, then ZVE, and use Stump Root nice and clean once you're back on ZVE.
That's my recommendation. Yes it's a bit cumbersome but if you're going to be pure stock (rooted, of course), that's the why I would suggest it be done properly. Trying to "fix" a busted root or one that didn't get done properly could cause more trouble than it's worth. You could do the reflash to pure stock ZVC in a matter of minutes, then the ZVD - ZVE update in a few more and have zero issues whatsoever.
Or flash the zve tot and then use stumproot.

Didn't realize there was a proper ZVE tot file available, would have suggested that if I did but yep, that's even easier and the best solution overall.
Neat...
I am having the same issue, glad to see a solution.
It may be a stupid question, but since I do not know the answer... Where do I find the ZVE, or ZVC files to load? If someone has a link for a thread kn this subject that would be very helpful. In the mean time I will be doing some more searching.
Thanks!
Thanks for the responses guys, really appreciate the pointers!
I'll definitely be trying some of these suggestions when I have time First week back at Uni is kicking my ass so far lol!
Rynglade there is a guide to restore to factory in the lg g2 general section at the top. Internetcommand. if the previous owner attempted root then failed, stumproot will not work as it still detects the phone as rooted. the only way to get it to work is to do a restore with lg flash tool.
@broadband and rularn
Thanks dudes
Hey guys, quick update as I've finally found time to try working on this:
The only issue I'm having right now is that my phone will NOT go into download mode. I've tried several times and nothing seems to get through.
I really don't know what to do from here since I can't flash a stock firmware without going into download mode...
I am new to this phone. I need to return to stock, kernel and rom. Can someone point me to the information to do this.
Currently rooted and on G900T_FOG6_TrapKernel, TrapKernel_OFG6.tar.md5.
Thank you in advance.
I figured out what I needed to know.
