[Q] About my LG-E400 1st gen - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I just changed to Cyanoid ROM from MiniCM9. Now I have this problem where my phone can't detect my external sd card any the internal memory of the phone. What is exactly happening on my phone? I'm wanting to revert back to stock using KDZ but when I go to emergency mode, the phone turns off itself.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think you didnt flashed SD-merge after flashing new rom(if you were using sd merge version of mini cm9)
and to go into emergency mode your phone must be charged more than 20-30%......

[Q] Help Please!! USB mode is always turned on!!!

Hi All,
My Vibrant's USB mode is always turned on even if it is not connected to the PC. Is there a way to turn it off? I have rooted stock ROM.
Thanks

Bumping post!!! Please need your help!
Are you sure it's not Settings > SD card and phone storage > Unmount SD card ?
I can't think of what else it would be.
No,
everything seems to be correct. The unmount SD card option is active which means it is not unmounted. I checked the SD and it is seated perfectly. Also when i power it down I cannot start it up... I have to connect to USB charger and start it up in charge mode. Is there a way to turn this off?
Thank you gravis86 for your response.

Yes you may be right... I am not able access my SD card or my phone memory via USB... What could be the problem???

Had same issue, did you get the JI6 update?? That was supposed to help with the "known defect" when i called and talked with tech support. Of course, i couldn't get the update since i was on a third party ROM. Downloaded Bionix 1.9.1 since it had the update built in and have been good since. Hope this helps!
Hi.. Thank you for your response.. Is it possible to fix it if I flash it with a new ROM? Or is it becuse of hardware issue?
Thanks
B
Hey topgun I had a problem like this when I bought my phone and a hard reset fixed it. Since then I've been flash happy

Well, if you have odin it won't hurt to try Bionix Final with the JI6 update built in and if that doesn't work you can always call TMO, odin back to stock and then trade it for the replacement they sent you. But in my case a new flash was all it took. Been over a week now without the issue where as before it was an everyday annoyance.
This is a common issue and is solved by cleaning the USB port.

[Q] Problem with sd card/back to 2.1?/themes?

Hey guys!
I have updated my gt540 from original 2.1 (without fastboot) to 2.3.2 (cyanogen mod 7.0.0 with all stuff that was needed). Since update from 1.6 to 2.1 and then to 2.3.2 I have problems with my sd card. It's Kingston 16gb micro sdhc card. I often get messages "Sd card unexpectedly removed" and then "mounting" immediately after turning on screen. The problem is, that (I think) it happens this removal happens sometimes during preparing card for android and it has made my sd card useless (needed to reformat it, losing all data). This is getting annoying, because of my data and 7gb of music I need to copy every time it's broken, and it happens once-twice every month. I checked slot for sd and put a piece of paper to push card further. Didn't work. So my first question: is it because of android or hardware? Or maybe sd card is too big for this phone?
And another question: is it possible to "revert" my phone to original 2.1 without fastboot?(To make phone look not altered by me [guarantee]) (Of course by 'revert' I mean installing new rom from lg).
I'm little tired with this 2.3.2, it's sometimes rebooting without reason and this particular rom has many apps I don't need.
Also will themes, that are posted here (for 2.1) work with fabric 2.1?
And if not, could you show me a clean rom which will work fast? Also, working radio is appreciated.
Clean ROM
Well... Here's a clean ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182804
Do you want fastboot after flashing the Stock 2.1 ROM?
I had similar problems with card on earlier versions of 2.3.x. I would recommend trying SwiftDroid, it has Android 2.3.5 and some tweaks for SD cards. Since installing that ROM I hadn't a single issue with storage.
Size of the card shouldn't be a matter, because GT540 can use up to 32 GB.
Clean ROMs
Clean ROMs doesn't always mean it's faster. I could be at some times. You could mod CM7 to bypass the speed of a clean ROM. Swiftdroid is not a clean ROM unlike AOSP Froyo which is "Pure Android". I've heard that AOSP Froyo has better battery performance than Swiftdroid, but I'm not sure :/

I'll give froyo a try and then, if problem persists I'd want to flash it to stock 2.1 without fastboot and maybe I'll give it to service.
After I flash it to 2.2 you posted what should I do to get rid of fastboot? Just run lg update which will do everything?
ed: Wait, is fastboot just an application for windows and it's by default on every device and I got it wrong with clockwork mod?
Fastboot
Fastboot is used on a device from a computer. You can't use fastboot without a device with fastboot. There's no fastboot on the LG GT540's stock ROM. You need to flash a Fastboot ROM to use fastboot from your computer. Clockwork Recoverymod is a modification to your device that can enable you to flash and backup your ROMs without the need of a computer.

Do you mean that the 'Phone' app can't read your SD card.
Isn't everything used by the 'Phone' application on the Stock 2.1 ROM from the internal memory?
Yes, the phone does not detect the SDcard.
I can not install applications on the card as if it were not for a SDcard.
Dismount
You can take out your SD card and put it back in. See if that does anything.

It also has been trying. Several cards we tried already.
Physical problem
It could be a physical problem, you should go to the place you bought it from and tell them to fix it. You could try re-flashing a ROM and see what happens.

Defect
Hmm... maybe it's problem with the SD card tray. You should take it to the store.

Froyo to Gingerbread, update failed

Hi, i tried to update from android 2.2.2 to 2.3.5 but i got a problem... i put the "dload" folder into my 16GB sdcard and press both volym keys while pressing the power button. Its unpacking and everything but when it changes to "installing" i get a message that the "update failed".
How do i fix this?
Things i have tried: Formatted sdcard and put "dload" folder into it
Downloaded an other gingerbread update
Factory reset and then tried update
Start the update from the internal sdcard
Start the update without the battery inserted and USB connected
Please help me!
Dload on root of your sd card. After that you must press both Vol + and - with Power key to boot on Pink Screen.

Had the same issue
from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2 ok but then nothing !!

It even erased my IMEI number
Luckily it was under warranty
So they replaced my motherboard and now all is ok again

I had the same problem. So, I will point 2 things:
1. It may be a slow card. Try to add the dload folder in the internal card.
2. In case you use the B512, you need to put the UPDATE.APP and UPDATE_G.APP in the dload folder at the same time.

i downloaded this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1728604 an it seems to work.
The phone says that i got the .35 kernel and android 2.3.7 but it seems like that rom is bad because my Ideos restarts sometimes, gonna find an other one. Got some tips of any good GB rom?
Okay, im using android 4.0.3 atm so if anyone else got the same problem as me, just use CWM to install a custom 2.3.7 rom or do like me: stock 2.2.2 -> custom 2.3.7 rom -> custom 4.0.3 rom ^^

A Custom ROM will always work !!
But you will and cannot upgrade with the Original Releases by HUAWEI
( please check if you still have your IMEI )
I had the same trouble as you did
And if you still have warranty then send it back !!
PS :
I tried fast MicroSD cards and slow 2GB 4GB 8GB and 16GB no luck at all
Internal memory same issues
With Battery or without still no luck
If original update fails while using sdcard try to copy dload folder into internal disk then unmount the sdcard and try to update again.
If your imei isnt nulled %99 it should update.
Btw please consider backing your imei before doing any update with 5iromtoolbox.

The error message that I am getting is:

Anyone know what that means?

[Q] phone does not turn on. it goes directly to cwm recovery mode

Good day,
I am having problem with my lg optimus l3 e400. I just rooted it the other day to solve the memory problems of the phone. It has been working fine until today. What happened was, it just turned off and whenever i turn it on, it goes directly to cwm recovery, which has been installed during the root process thru ROM manager app. I also found out that the SD card is corrupted. I had to format the SD card and tried pasting stock ROM's but it still doesn't boot and still goes to recoovery everytime I turn it on. I tried to format the device, the cache, and the other format options in recovery mode but the issue is still not solved. Can anyone please help? And if possible, give me a step by step guide because I'm kinda new at this. Thanks.

If you highlight the reboot option and then press the power key what happens?Does the phone reboot? If not somethings gone wrong...Anyway try flashing another custom ROM(cyanoid, for example @linuxxx)Does CWM recovery mount the SD card?Did you flash SD merge and you aren't using a SD merge compatible kernel?Anyway you can't flash stock roms from the phone. You must use the good old KDZ(How many times did he save me....)
