You didn't provide any detailed information about your phone model, firmware or even a step by step description of how you did a factory reset. So we have no way of discerning whether you missed any essential steps or narrow anything down.
Nevertheless you have an odd problem that no one else seems to be reporting. Ergo the most likely explanation is odd settings or corruption on your phone. As a factory reset (clearing user settings) apparently didn't work, the most plausible remaining cause would be a cache problem or some anomaly in your system files.
To that end, try wiping the cache from recovery mode. If that doesn't help, then use Odin to write a full stock firmware to your phone to replace the system files as well. If your problems persist then open a support ticket with your carrier to look into your account configuration. The latter is unlikely though if the SIM works in another phone. So in as much as we can tell given the paucity of details, you should try replacing your system files with Odin. Also check your APN information.

I'm on AT&T and having the exact same problem. I switched from Verizon as AT&T has a new tower in my rural area for better reception. I have 3 bars in my home and when talking on the phone it goes up to 4 bars. No problem calling out. Purchased the new Samsung Galaxy S5 on 9/15/14.
Incoming calls go directly to VM. Sometimes the phone works as it should and calls and messages came thru in a timely manner.
Mostly the calls go to VM and text messages are delayed. Vm doesn't show up as having a vm for hours.
I have gotten a new sim card, exchanged the phone and the new phone does exactly the same thing, I am now past my 14 days so I am stuck with this phone unless I agree to a warranty replacement phone from AT&T. (Same phone S5)
I have has 4 cases with AT&T and nothing has helped. Last case will be resolved bu Oct 4.
I will try turning off WIFI while at home and see if that helps.
I have reset the new phone, did not help. I don't understand why with 3 bars I can't receive calls.
Calling out is no problem. Incoming doesn't work correctly. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Friends of mine were at my house over the weekend and he had a samsung s4 and had the same problem after logging onto my wifi. It is the wifi causing the problem. I had an old modem and netgear router that we hooked up and then we were able to receive calls like you should. We switched out the modem/router combo on Sat to my older setup and my phone is still working normally! I called my dsl provider and told them about the problem as I just bought the modem/router combo from them recently.
They never heard of anything like this. I do find it hard to believe that the home wifi equipment disrutes the cell phone signal. But my phone is now working!!! Anyone ever heard of this or that can explain why this would happen I would love to hear about it.

Hi Guys,
Wondering if anyone could help? I think I may have turned my DHD into an expensive mp3 player! I don’t seem able to connect to any mobile network Apart from that the DHD functions perfectly (working wifi/gps) - it has been working fine in the past
I can’t make/receive any calls / text message. When I try to connect to a mobile network I receive the following error:
- If I choose the network manually myself (o2 for me) I get "Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network"
- If I try going for the automatic option I get "Unable to connect to this network at this time. Please try again later."
- I'm also getting the notification every 10 minutes to "Set current time" - I don't know if this is related but I assume so since both issues started at the same time!
The problem occurred when I decide to give RCMix a go through ROM Manager. It appeared to flash fine and was running smooth and quick until I noticed a few hours later I had no mobile connection I'd done this a few times before with RC 7 and CoreDroid and hadn’t experienced an issue before.
First thing I tried was to recover to my previous setup before the flash (using ROM Manager) - the phone restored however the mobile network still remained unresponsive! ...this was the same for all my previous backups. I tried clearing cache and dalvik-cache. I even tried reformatting the phone at one point.
I know it's a fault with the phone and not the sim, I'm just not sure what. I've tried my sim card in another DHD and it worked fine. I have also tried different o2 sim, an orange, vodaphone and T-mobile sim card in my phone – all of which give the same problem.
I’ve tried resorting the phone with a few different RUU’s, and even a German one just because it was o2 branded and I’m on contract with them:
- RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.32.405.6_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_155891_signed

- RUU_Ace_O2_DE_1.32.207.1_Radio_12.28a.60.140e_26.03.02.08_M_release_153755_signed
I then re-rooted the phone with the use of Visionary+.
I’ve tried turning the radio off then back on, both by switching airplane mode and by using the hidden option *#*#4636#*#* and I’ve also tried re-flashing the radio and even a different more up-to-date radio:
- Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M (original)
- Radio_12.39.60.19_26.06.04.06_M
I’ve checked out the APN and it appears to be correct for o2.
I’ve done simpler things like restarting / powering off, removing the battery, re-seating the sim, re-seating the sdcard and booting without the sdcard!
All in all I’m running low on idea’s Could anyone please help or throw some idea’s at me, it would be very much appreciated!
Thank you.

HTC HD2 with error connecting to the network problem
I have the same problem! I bought a phone from ebay "new" and I have not been able to connect to my network AT&T. The phone has android gingerbread 2.3.2 Nand, and I have tried everything in the book to see if I can connect to the network but to no avail. I have been going on forums for the last three days, and if anything, I just want to know what is wrong with the phone. My sim works on other phones fine. There is enough signal in the area (ive always had signal where I live), and tried resetting, taking the battery off, flashing different roms, even went back to Winmo and nothing has worked yet. My IMEI on the phone was different from the one the box, but was the same on the phone as on the inside IMEI.
WHat the heck is going on? Please ideas or help!

Thanks for the quick replies...

Yes sorry I forgot to mention this part - I tried *#06# and both numbers matched on screen and under the battery hood. I also had the IMEI checked to see if it was blacklisted and it has not...

Tried clearing the slot, there is no visible signs of blockage... also I bought the handset second hand - I've never seen any branding however when I bought it the previous owner did tell me it was previously locked to vodaphone and he had rooted it so that he could use other sims cards. Which is why I orginally tried a vodaphone sim card too.
Thanks for your suggestions so far guys
Just a quick update, I've been grasping at straws and I've also tried a few more bits below, none of which have worked... I think I may have to leave this one to rest. Just wanted to let others know who may be experiencing the same issues
Matching radio and RIL as mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040986
Replacing the mtd0.img as mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691639
It sounds like a fault. If it was network barred you would still receive a signal, for emergency calls. Can you return the handset to HTC for a warranty repair?

I still get a message on the lock screen saying Emergency Calls only - although admittedly I haven't tried calling the emergency services to check if it gets through.
Not being the original in-store purchaser I don't even know the age of the phone but I'm guessing probably over the 12 month warranty period, sod's law - I'll give them a ring and see what they say

My DHD was from the first batch and is still covered by warranty. How did you check to see if the IMEI was blocked?
I had a similar problem to this one. My mobile data connection gave out after my DHD's temp reached about 38 degrees while playing with it in the sun. A little while later I lost coverage completely, same as you. I tried everything, flashing ruus and re-rooting, re-s-offing, everything. Ten different ROMs, radios, kernels etc.
Eventually I gave up, figuring I had confirmed it was a hardware issue, and popped my sim in my old nokia so I had a usable phone and to get on with my life after wasting so many hours. I left the DHD with the battery removed, and ended up not coming home for a couple of days.
When I got home and decided to start playing around with the DHD again to see if I could get it working properly, I noticed the issues were gone.. I've tried to reproduce this problem out of curiosity, leaving the led light on high for a while, making the phone hot. Nothing. Since then I've flashed everything imaginable, and I've switched back and forth between two radios all week. No problems.
Strange, I'm guessing I have some form of hardware damage, but everything is running smoothly now at 1,5 GHz - no unstability of any kind.
I have done that actually! I took the battery off, and put the phone back in the box just to get on with my life. I left it sitting for a day and a half I guess, and I came back BUT unfortunately, unlike you, the problem is still there. The phone tries to look for signal, but it can't connect to the network. It does find the network and identifies it by name, but does NOT connect to it.
Sounds like a hardware fault Bob - Give it back to Rob!
or try and get HTC to fix if still in warranty?
Thanks! I thought so, too!
Hey did you solve problem?
I have had that emergency calls for 2 day,s i am waiting only. Please help.
If you find that your GPRS data connection connects but you have no GSM signal do the following
*#*#4636#*#* choose radio off and then radio on, be sure to be in a location with a STRONG GSM Signal and your phone should connect. I have had the same issue with my Desire HD and have been surviving with this workaround as nobody else seemed to know
Stiill same :S Selected networkd unavailable error
Try changing sim, or it sounds like blacklisted IMEI.
But my sim works on other phones and other sim cards work on my Huawei?
I was reading through this hoping desperately that somebody had found a solution. I had switched to Cyanogenmod recently but had GPS issues, so I tried flashing a new radio and RIL. Now I can't make any calls/texts, etc. as described here.
Tried several other radios/RILs, tried nandroid restore, tried flashing whole new ROM (LeeDroid). Still the same issue. Tried the *# codes listed here, no luck.
Please let me know if anybody has solved this one. I really don't need a paperweight right now...
Hi all,
This is my case with the hope of getting any help or lead in order to solve my problem:
After a long research I bought an brand new LG D800 already sim unlocked in the US and brought it to my country (Costa Rica). I made sure the frequencies supported by the D800 are the ones used in my country. In fact 2 years ago I bought another phone that uses same frequencies and had had no problems ever.
As soon as getting in my country I placed the SIM card I'm using in my current phone into the G2 and it recognized the signal and connected to the operators network. I started to make and receive calls almost immediately, and also SMS' without issues. So I started to migrate all my data from the current phone into the G2. I used Titanium Backup for this, so I rooted first the phone using the guide I found here, and basically what I did is installed the apps from Google Play and then restored data using Titanium.
After the second day of use suddenly I found out that I wasn't able to make or receive calls since the phone lost connection to the operators network only allowing emergency calls but the signal bars were full (see scren capture). Sometimes when restarting the phone I get "Phone not allowed MM6" message just after the phone tries to connect to the operators network.
Went to the phone company offices and they tried to help me and made some simple tests, without changing anything inside, such as checking Android's network configurations, checking in their system to verify the IMEI wasn't blocked or reported (the IMEI is clean), also checked the sim configuration and after more than 45 minutes they were not able to find anything wrong in their system or with the phone itself. They also made a final test taking a working sim and put it into the G2 and gatting same emergency calls mode, and took my sim from the G2 and put it in another phone and that phone was able to make and receive calls. So they concluded that the phone has a "built-in" configuration or damage that impedes the phone to connect to the network. They finally suggested to ask the seller to apply the waranty, which is not a viable option since I'm not in the US anymore. This G2 is using the stock ROM (see screen captured).
I've been in close contact with the seller, and he had shown interest in this case but unfortunately hasn't been able to provide much support or help to solve the issue. He reports that he has contacted other buyers of this same phone, also sim unlocked by him, and they all are using their G2s normally. Didn't provide where their locations are tough.
My own conclusions here are that the G2 IMEI is not blocked by the phone company, that there is some kind of fault in the phone that when trying to connect to the network, the network doesn't "like" and rejects connection, althought it worked at the begining, and I'm not able to determine if the fault is software or it's in the hardware of the phone.
So I'm trying to understand what my options are at this moment:
Try to return the phone to the seller, or ask an LG representative in my country to change the unit. Which seems to be very difficult.
Reflash the unit with a stock ROM and reestablish the warranty. But being unsure if this will solve the issue.
Reflash the unit with a new ROM and loose the warranty, and again, being unsure the issue will be solved.
I'm really frustrated and at this moment and have no idea on what to do.
Any ideas or insight will be appreciated.
Thanks.
NOTE: I reinitialized the unit and lost any signal (see screenshots) but received update notifications from Google Play and was able to upload the screenshots into my Dropbox although no signal is shown in the status bar and no WiFi connection is established, only data connection thru APN (I Assume).
Go into status, what's IMEI say?
Sounds like EFS issues. I take it you didn't back it up after setting up on carrier and flashing?
Of so, you have some manual work to do with diag mode and a couple apps via pc.
Hi Steamer;
Under status I see 3 items:
1) Phone Number: shows"Unknown".
2) IMEI: shows the number printed on the box, on a sticker on phone's back.
3) IMEI SV: shows"03".
Where can I learn more about EFS issues? Are there tutorials?
As you say I haven't done any backup thing.

Hi again Steamer:
After reading quite a bit about EFS issues now I understand much better what you meant with your post.
And as you said I didn't back up efs folder, I even didn't flash any ROM yet in the unit. The only thing I did was a 'hard reset' to the unit using the Power + Vol. Down method, after having several 'com.android.phone' errors due to backing up data from Titanium.
The phone went to factory state, I put the sim card and everything went back to normal again, meaning that I was able to make and receive calls. Like 4 hours later the phone went to emergency calls only mode, and from then on I'm not able to take it out of that mode.
So I wonder if the efs folder could corrupt after that factory reset. Is it possible?
Thanks again and any light is greatly appreciated.
It is not in its own partition on this device, but in system. A hard reset shouldn't have caused corruption, but it is not impossible. Your IMEI is intact then, that is good. From what you said about it working partially, your EFS is most likely fine as well. There is a thread here to get files with custom recovery zip file, or you can use adb commands to do it yourself. I don't have guides off hand, but Google is your friend, just specified this phone in searches. Try a new SIM. Sounds more like SIM /carrier issue now as you are out of "activation". That is why emergency is popped and unknown number. The SIM itself may and most likely is bad(or carrier has an issue with your account), in turn it can't communicate with the server causing non activation on network search. Priority to SIM.

Hi i have similar issue with my LG G4 H818P dual sim... after factory reset i often face emergency calls only issue despite full signals... sometimes i able to make and receive calls but most of the time despite my sim registered on network and i get full signals when someone tries to call me he get message as my cell is off.... really annoyed and i flashed latest rom v10e but same issue. Same sim when i use in note 3 then no issue what so ever
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Free mobile app
I had the same issues. Bought in Us using now in India. Go to settings..tethering&networks.. mobile networks... international data roaming and select standard data. Switch off and switch on your phone .
This will happen when you use, internet over gsm. If you disable internet or if your phone loses signal while switching between edge and 3g/4g data, this is tend to happen.
Similar Problem
I have an lg vs980 and I was using it with H2O wireless and later I changed to Simple Mobile. I'm living in Puerto Rico. The phone was working all right and, suddenly, one day it was always displaying 'emergency calls only'.
I did factory reset, then I reflashed stock lollipop and it was like nothing happened, keeps displaying 'emergency calls only'.
Then I found this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2394689 and applied the patch but didn't seem to resolve the problem.
As a last resort I tried flashing cm 12.1 and before first boot applied the patch from the cited thread but no result, keeps displaying 'emergency calls only'.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
Hello,
I've had this issue across more than 1 device and more than 1 carrier.
Here's what happens:
I enable WiFi, and for a while everything works as expected. I can send and receive MMS messages. I can disable WiFi and go back to my 4G connection.
The problem is, after an unknown amount of time, the phone drops the 4G connection in the background. I only know when I can't receive/send MMS messages anymore. At that point, if I disable WiFI there's no 4G data connection, and I have to turn Airplane mode off and turn it back on.
This is really annoying. It happened to me using Sprint and a Galaxy S4 (both stock and custom ROMs) and it's happening to me with a Galaxy S5 from MetroPCS. (I've used the stock Metro ROMs, Stock T-mobile ROMs, and Custom T-mobile ROMs).
Right now I'm using a Stock T-mobile ROM with the latest firmware, carrier is MetroPCS.
What can I do so this doesn't happen? It's really frustrating.
Thank you for your time.

Hello.
That's already disabled.
Should I enable it?
I tried with "smart network switch" enabled and disabled and problem still happened.
My S5 G900F Android 5.00 (Smart Network Switch disabled, Power Save disabled) on EE UK has had this problem for 9 months after phone upgraded itself to Lollipop (EE win the accolade to being the SLOWEST ON THE PLANET to provide Android updates.....). Since Jan 3, my wife's G901, a couple of weeks after it upgraded from 5.0 to 5.02, has developed the same problem. Neither phone has ever been rooted or other.
I have fruitlessly searched everywhere for a solution without success. EE Customer Services Tier 2 & Samsung's own service centre have failed to fix it. EE & Samsung blame each other for 5.1 or 5.1.1 not being available for download. Neither is prepared to resolve the issue despite hours on the phone. Have tried Safe Mode, Factory Reset, clearing everything, reloading APNs & Samsung even reloaded Android. All a waste of time: Many many days of it!
After approx half an hour connected to Wi-Fi, only way to get the mobile data to connect, is either reboot, enter & exit Air-plane mode or flip the 4G > 3G > 4G connection under More Networks. Have tested the fault in different cell areas countries and continents; fault is same everywhere.
It seems there are quite a few sufferers of this problem.
Samsung S5 keeps losing data connection
I have the same problem. My new Samsung phone loses the data connection (even though data is turned on) and I can only re-connect by restarting the phone. The first EE shop I took it to couldn't help at all. The second gave me a new SIM - that didn't work. Then I tried online support and after 3.5 hours of my life, in which I was passed on from one person to another, they completed a factory re-set - which didn't work (and additionally lost all the personalisation of my screen and some of my contacts). So I now have a not-very-smart phone which I have to re-start every time I want to use data. This is a business contract and the phone is less than two months old, but I'm not getting any effective support from EE. Android version is 5.0.2
me too, since last update. and app 'phono' shows "mobile data off" not got a time on it, but when i leave wifi coverage, it wont reconnect to cell data 2g/3g/4g. flightmode toggle to restore.
Abandon hope if you have this intermittent mobile data problem!
...at least until there is a software update, though I have no idea if that will help.
I have now tried a new sim card, a factory reset, and a replacement phone - which was provided only because I'm a business customer and I found a sympathetic member of staff. *By the way, I was told that if you are personal customer they won't consider replacing your phone if it is more than a month old - even if you started complaining about the phone as soon as you got it, the chances are a month will have elapsed by the time they put you through the hoops of a new sim, reset etc - and then it is too late to insist on a replacement phone.
In any case the replacement phone didn't resolve the issue so I have reached* a dead end. My phone fails to connect to data after having been connected to wifi - you have to do it manually each time you move away from a wifi connnection. At first I was doing it by restarting the phone, but am now following the advice of someone else who has the same problem and am going into flight mode and out again. *
This is not satisfactory, and it seems from reading forums that EE are to blame for the problem rather than Samsung, but I'm not 100% sure about that.*
Possible solution that works, for me, at the moment!
Having suffered this issue of my S5 (SM-G901F) not connecting to mobile data after being on Wi-Fi for a while unless switching airplane mode on/off for a few weeks; although it has probably been happening since the update I received late December; I have tried all of the turn this switch off, factory resets (x2), etc, etc, etc. and Googled the issue without success.
I have found this thread interesting, and I even tried calling EE support only to be told "you have tried everything that we would tell you to do" and "it wouldn't be a sim card, or handset issue, sounds like software". The reply was basically that like-it or lump it until the 5.1 update is released "by Samsung not EE because EE do not release Android updates". [Perhaps EE don't release the updates, but the stock rom is tested by them and their bloatware added before they eventually release it!!!]
Following my last reset I tried selectively re-installing the apps I used incase that was causing the issue. No Luck!
One last thing I tried was to look at every system 'thing' that I could find which used/switched any part of the mobile/mobile data/wifi - in addition to the settings I had already tried (all of which were mentioned in this thread previously). One thing I could not find not mentioned here, or anywhere, was the VoWi-Fi call on/off which I had always set to on as I do not live in a great reception area. Calling over Wi-Fi is great when you don't have a strong mobile signal.
Having 'played' with this setting for the last 24 hours I have found that the VoWi-Fi on/off appears to be a possible cure - for me anyway.:fingers-crossed:
When VoWi-Fi was set to off and leaving the phone connected to Wi-Fi overnight, the S5 immediately switched to mobile data this morning when I turned the Wi-Fi off . It continued to switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data all morning whilst out and about in and out of Wi-Fi connections - Woop Woop!!!
I then tried switching VoWi-Fi on (with Wi-Fi on and at home), leaving the phone for a number of hours, only to find that when I turned Wi-Fi off the phone refused to connect to mobile data even with a 'decent' mobile signal. The only way to get it to connect was to go back to switching Airplane mode on/off.
Switched VoWi-Fi off again, left Wi-Fi connected, left the phone for a couple of hours, etc. and hey-presto immediately switched to mobile data when I turned the Wi-Fi off. [Dances around the room because he's got the S5 automatically switching to mobile data again. Even though I'm at home with a great fibre internet and strong Wi-Fi connection!!!]
I do not know if this could be a solution for the others who are suffering from this issue, but it appears to be a solution for me at the moment. I thought I would share as your previous posts have helped me and you all seem to be pulling your hair out; like I have been; trying to find a solution.
Try it, it may work, but don't shoot me if it doesn't!
It's encouraging to know that I'm not crazy. I've had this issue across two devices and carries.
John,
Thank for your suggestion about WiFi calling. Unfortunately, I always have it off! I never used it, so maybe I should try turning it on? We'll see lol.
At this point, I think this is going to be my last Galaxy line phone.
Is it wi-fi calling that's causing the problem?
I have wondered if there is a link with wi-fi calling, but haven't tested it properly. I signed up with ee and bought the Galaxy phone specifically so that I could use wifi calling, as the town where I live (in the Scottish Borders) doesn't get a mobile signal strong to work reliably indoors from any of the networks. I'll try turning off wi-fi calling to see if that sorts the data thing (though I see that for one person above it did not). That would mean I wouldn't get calls or texts when I'm at home so it would not be a permanent solution for me. But in fact the wi-fi calling is not reliable anyway....

Brian,
You never know the way things are going with this issue; given that nobody seems to be able to pinpoint the fault; turning it on may just sort it!!!
still no change and its a pita.....
I'm in Japan for a couple of weeks for work and signed up for the Japan pack that Sprint offers. I spent almost an entire week working with Sprint support ( ) trying to get data roaming working properly on the phone without much luck (voice and text worked great), but yesterday I lost all connectivity but wifi. Figuring I must have changed something I shouldn't have, I saved everything I could and did a hard reset on the phone.
It still won't connect to any networks. I've re-downloaded PRL and device configs over wifi in the settings but it doesn't even attempt to connect to any wireless networks, or see any for that matter.
I have 2 guesses here but I'd like some kind of confirmation here before I take any action.
1: Maybe my radio firmware is corrupted somehow? I'm not exactly sure how to check it but it just doesn't seem to be doing much of anything. In the SIM status page it says searching for network, but I have no way to know if that's really the case.
2: Since the phone has a Sprint SIM, does it has to be on an actual Sprint network to initialize the networks? (Not Softbank's network here in Japan?) I spent over an hour on Google Voice with them last night trying to get an answer/help but got absolutely nowhere.
The phone is currently all stock but I have no problem unlocking and installing recoveries/software/roms if need be. Any ideas what I can do here or am I just stuck without communication until I get home next week?
Usually the best route is to get a local prepaid sim while traveling but honestly I have no idea what sprint offers for roaming in Japan. Check your plan and see if there is an add on needed.
I'm not alone!
Also THIS IS STILL AN ISSUE!
It worked fine for me last time I came to Japan, about a year ago. This time, I only have voice and text, no data. Right now I'm backing everything up to do a factory reset.
Did you ever find a solution to this?
I'm not sure if you've already done your factory reset, but if you're on Sprint, don't do a reset. The phone can't reactivate itself off of Sprint towers. You have to be in the US when you do the reset. I was stuck with WiFi only for most of my time there because I reset mine.
I never found a solution other than dropping Sprint when I got back to the states. Switched to Verizon and never looked back, though I'm not sure what I'm going to do for my next trip with their ridiculous international rates.
I actually got it working last night.
Factory reset and restore over wifi
Update device config over wifi -> handles activation
Update PRL over wifi 3 times
Now it works
Oh, I'm glad it worked. Is yours on Sprint?
Yes, but I may have spoken too soon. It worked for a few hours and now isn't getting back on data. I think it may be SIM related, since I saw a weird SIM error pop up and rebooted my phone, which led to the data working the first time
They must have redone their activation system since I had my issue in July. At that time there was no way for the phone to reactivate without being on Sprint's system.
As far as the data, that's the same thing I had happen and they were never able to solve the problem. It would work for a little while then stop for no reason. If you find a solution I'd love to hear it though.
I'm wondering if I can flash a different radio or something
Hi guys,
Been into android modification since 7 years but gave up since my last 2 phones. So i got this unlocked at&t galaxy s7 in uae and it worked like charm, the network and coverage. I then started usingthe phone in pakistan too and it worked well even here. So one day i connected to gear vr so that i can initiate the oculus data installation as first time setup but the gear vr kept on disconnecting automatically. I have used it before too but never had problem. Then i rebooted the phone and i find that i have no signals at all even though my sim contacts are being displayed and there is no “no sim” message on statusbar even. But dont have any signals at all. I then inserted my sim to iphone and it was working perfect. Then i inserted different carriers sims to s7 but yet they werent working even. I then cleared the cache, factory reset, cleaned the sim slot and the sim , but no success. I left ky ohone turned off for days andeven drained battery 100% many times to calibrate and perform hardware reset but no success. I then sent the phone back to uae for repairing from my friend as i thought that the antennae were the one’s responsible but before he even thought of disassembling the ohone, he inserted uae sim and it worked perfectly. Call and data were working perfectly. Any idea what is the problem? Kindly let me know pleaseeee. Is there any problem with frequency? Like gsm or cdma? But the phone worked before. I tried to enter the settings of manually selecting networks but there was error popup “No service and signal”. Signal strength 0asu -113dvm

Forgot to tell, my phone has never been rooted, i even tried to enable/disable “Enable hd LTE features” but no luck. Its on 7.0. Dont recieve OTA. Not blacklisted either. Pakistan doesnt have CDMA. I have even noticed it recieving weak signals compared to my iphone when the phone was working ok. And my radio is showing to be off and when i turn it on from the dial code menu. It doesnt keep turned on and it turns off automatically. I still have the imei amd baseband version. Dunno what the issue is.
Kindly reply guys
Please help

Settings>connections>mobile networks> apn settings or access point names
Manually enter your carriers information you'll have to ask them or look it up online sure its easy to find they might even help you in store
Its not good for you to buy these US phones outside of the US because changing CSC to INS/INU/PAK could prove to be difficult being it was never supported by snapdragon G930A model but only exynos G930F although it's not impossible
/system/csc/others.xml is where your answers are waiting for you unless you update to oreo then it'll be in /system/omc/cscfeature.xml and cscfeature_network.xml
You will need a root file manger to be able to see what I'm talking about then you will have to figure out what those "strings" mean
Unless you want to mod and figure out make your phone awesome just flash other US firmware that uses gsm network only i think ATT only uses gsm and you can root to debloat ect.
Here's a method for rooting
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/root-s7-s7edge-oreo-nougat-t3819616/amp/
I'm sure there's people in your surrounding area that are into androids and rooting that understand and can help you figure things out if you know any one woth a G930F/G935F INS/INU/PAK thatd be awesome. If your imei number is truly gone from your phone its should still be on the back of the phone
I know this isn't the best help but you aren't the first post I've seen of Pakistanian with US S7 tryjng to figure it out.. idk if he ever did but if you learn you can help others as well
*note: when I say change csc I don't mean flashing firmware in odin, that is impossible. I mean porting it yourself with root like in the link below this one
*another note: I am not saying use the link below as anything other than an example because again that link was developed for Eynos phones and not your snapdragon so it probably wouldn't work but just so you have an idea of csc
