My friend has a Sprint S3 and I have a Sprint S4. We went camping last weekend and at the site service was very spotty. He was able to connect to 3g service on his S3 while I was only able to connect to roaming voice with no data on my S4. It wasn't like it was even coming in and out of 3g it just would not connect at all to data. I am running stock software and am fully updated. I tried changing my phone from 3g/LTE to just 3g and that made no difference. I turned off roaming and set it to just home network and it gave me no signal whatsoever. Can anyone explain this? Shouldn't the S4 work better than the S3?

Hi, I got a samsung HD LTE phone from korea.
I am using at&t in new york area. The phone and mms works well. However, there seems some issue in internet connection.
The download speed is super slow, around 15kbs. I got full bars in my phone. And it shows "G" signal(Not "E"). I have tried the different apn settings, but neither help this. Any one have same experience?
I check the spec. It's not within at&t 4g lte band. But it is under at&t 3g bands. Any idea?
I have a unlocked GNEX on tmobile and currently in a area that is covered under a coverage partner. I can not connect to AT&Ts network. The phone says unable to connect to the network. Please try again later. I have 2G and data roaming turned on. Anyone know why it won't connect.
I recently upgraded to Baja ROM from rooted JB stock and ever since have had problems switching to 3G from 4G. If I turn my phone on in a 3G area, 3G data works. However, if I travel to a 4G area and the phone connects to 4G, when I return to a 3G area, 3G data no longer works. The notification bar has a grey out 3G (wifi is off). Voice still works. I cannot get data again unless I either go back to a 4G area or reboot my phone. Turning on and off airplane mode doesn't help. Does anyone else have this problem? I have tried various modems, including NC4, NC2 and MJE. They don't seem to make any difference. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks for you help in advance.
P.S. I live in Appalachian mountains where I am constantly roaming on Appalachian Wireless. They did partner up with Verizon to get 4G LTE so I suspect when I am on 4G, I am on Verizon network. I don't know if roaming makes any difference.
Hello everyone.
A few days ago I got a Galaxy S5 Verizon (G900V).
The phone is GSM and unlocked.
I went to MetroPCS and had them activate it. Of course, they
gave me the BS about it being a Verizon phone, but the activation still worked.
Calls and texts work fine.
However, the 4GLTE signal is always very low, and sometimes drops to 3G where the 3G icon is greyed out basically saying I have no data access.
The online time I have good signal is when I mess with the Network modes and ServIceMode options enough to turn the 4GLTE/3G icon info an "E" (for EDGE data), but that is extremely slow.
Is there a way to fix this?
I have root access.
Thanks
I'd also like to mention that I wouldn't mind having HSPA+ if that's all I can get. I just need a stable signal.
Please someone help.
Anyone?
How did they switch it for you? I have a s5 through Verizon and I have service through metro pcs. But I can't get it to switch over to my s5. Can you help me? I'm like 300 miles away from the closest metro pcs so I am doing all of this on my own. I'm a noobie
I switched my parents over to Cricket from Verizon today. They both have S5's. I set the network mode to lte/wdcma/gsm but it keeps going from Edge, HSPA, and emergency calls only. So I thought I'd try setting it to WCDMA only well I can't as *#*#4636#*#* does NOT work.
While my LG G2 on cricket and my iPhone 7 on AT&T sit and hold both a steady HSPA or LTE perfectly fine without issue which is the reason I switched them.
Any suggestions? Would setting to global be better? I would assume it would make matters worse.
Both phones are running MM and I haven't really kept up with roms/root/etc for Samsung stuff.
Thanks
