Quick question for anyone on Orange UK... - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need to send my phone back to Orange UK for a screen repair (strange white blob - not dead pixel - has appeared on the screen.
Before I do I need to revert to stock. I cant seem to find a stock Orange rom anywhere. I presume there is one or did they use the standard UK rom? If there is one, does anyone know where I could download the KDZ from?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

can't help you on the rom, but if it was me i'd be sending it direct to LG. They are pretty swift and easy to use.

Vodaofne V1605 reinstall original rom?

I have a Vodafone v1605, which I have flashed with the Imate Jasjam rom. However, I am struggling badly to get the correct operator settings for Vodafone uk.
I have tried various cab files, as well as manually entering the settings, but all to no avail. I would now like to revert to the original shipped rom, but can not find it. Vodafone are no help at all!
Does anybody know if it is possible to download and reinstall the original shipped rom for this device.
Many thanks in advance.
Not yet. Hopefully they'll release the shipped ROM soon.
Thanks for the quick reply.
In the meantime, does anyone know how to install all of the correct vodafone uk operator settings?
Try here mate
Bloody brilliant!
Thank you so much, been searching for ages to get detailed info like this, you are a scholar and a gentleman.
Hope we can be of assistance to you in the future!
please try this file if it uplaods ok. worked for me with my Prophet.
you will need to load cad file onto phone click and install then go into messaging-then menu at the bottom of the screen- mms configuration-then servers then select vodafone as default
Vodafone Settingsv2[1].0.CAB
Cab file works flawlessly, I think I want to donate you my kidney!

XDA Orbit ROM

Hello all, hope you can help.
I've just tried to install the this ROM 'PDAMobiz_Dopod_P800W_AKU301_v1.1.2_PowerMap__6.2.07_.part2.rar' on my xda orbit but the install came back with errors and all i have now is an O2 spalsh screen. I can however get to the bootloader screen so i assume all i need is the original shipped uk o2 rom?
I've had a good look around but nobody seems to have this. Someone must have surely.
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
Thanks for the advice but i've tried that already. Any other ideas?
I suppose tha you have Xda Orbit from Germany . If yes go to ftp on xda dev and download german rom . Put your xda into bootloader mode and upgrade it with this rom . This will help . I've had this same issue and from today my xda is alive again
Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296442
I actually need the UK (english) rom. Do you think the German one will work on O2 UK? I'm gonna download it anyways, cant hurt to try.
Thanks
No this will not work, and if I'm not wrong there is no official O2 UK rom . If your XDA is CID unlocked then you can try to install t mobile uk version , if not ....well you have a brick
no, the german rom dosn't work on the english unit. bacause the updateprogramm is looking for the correct country-id so it won't work.
^^sry for my bad english, because i'm german and don't use it very often.
bye flow
Gutted!
You're right guys, it doesn't work! I guess I should have thought about how serious this 'playing about with your xda' was I reckom i'm just gonna go to the shop tomorrow and just say it died and hope they give me a new one
Suppose i could wait for the new ROM release for the UK version, who knows when that's going to be though.
Thanks for your help anyway.

Orange UK Rom

Hi
My Orange UK M700 needs to go back to get the front buttons fixed (green/red/softs and windows/ok) and to sort out whatever is loose inside it. As such I need to restore it to Orange settings, however I have lost the backup I made.
So could someone provide me (and others) of a backup of this ROM?
Thanks so much
Ed
Not really that hard to find! Is this what you were after?

Official UK/Europe ROM to replace Orange ROM?

I've just bought a UK HTC Touch HD that was locked to Orange and is now unlocked. I want to get rid of the Orange branding software by flashing to the latest 'Official' HTC Rom but have found that the only ROM on the HTC site is 'unsuitable' for my phone after inputting the Ser No. Can someone point me in the direction of the corrrect ROM file or is there a good reason why I should use a 'unofficial' ROM?

Hiya mate, welcome to the forum. I don't blame you for wanting to get rid of the Orange branding, they seem to take pleasure in undoing all the hard work that HTC do and replace it with their puke inspired branding (Orange SPV E650 - PUKE!)
Right, first of all I'd suggest you read through the Blackstone Wiki (Link is stickied at the top of this forum) You'll find out most of what you need to know about flashing a new ROM, including chooseing between USPL and HSPL (Bootloader) - depending on whether you intend to do much flashing of ROMs to your device. There's also links to some Official HTC WWE roms that people have dumped from their phones and kindly re-packaged ready to be flashed.
As always, remember that flashing a new rom image, or SPL will invalidate your warranty, unless you can flash back to original - which is possible for SPL and ROM image provided you back up your original or know you can download an Original Orange ROM. Instructions for dumping your rom are also on the wiki.
Good luck!
Thanks, I'll have a trawl through all the info, hopefully I won't end up turning my new toy into a brick!

I've successfully 'de oranged' now by using :
Unsigned_HardSPL_for_Blackstone_OliNexe
followed by:
RUU_BlackStone_HTC_Europe_1.14.401.2_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14_Ship
Everything seems to be working just fine and the 'auto configuration' now works no matter what sim I use, who knows I might even be brave enough to start playing with 'Cooked' ROMS soon!
I've had my orange phone for a couple of days now and want to do the same as you. Can you tell me how you unlocked your phone and do you have to unlock it before you can put in a new ROM?
Also, once you put the new ROM in, did you have to set up the orange voicemail, internet, etc?
You don't need to network unlock before flashing. Mine is still locked to Orange despite having a Dutty rom on it.
I think a network unlock costs a few bob, look around the forums. Data just worked, and I had to remember that voicemail is on 123. And if it didn't I expect the config text they send out would reset it all for you.

Thanks for the reply. I wont bother with unlocking as I intend to stay with orange for at least the next 18 months. I have a couple more questions, if you don't mind:
How do they know to send the config text? Can they detect you updated the ROM?
This is something that I have also wondered about... do you have to note all data & MMS etc settings or are they predetermined by the sim or something?
I've flashed my phone probably about 20+ times with different ROMs and all have detected my Orange UK SIM settings.
Hope this helps.
The 'Auto Configuration' option in 'Connection setup' takes care of all the settings for you and you've still got the option of selecting the Country and Operator manually.

That is good to know. I was worried that the phone would forget how to do sms, internet, voicemail, etc.
