[Q] Tasker and S5 S View Cover - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
At first: Sorry for my english.
I have a Problem with Tasker and the S View Cover for the S5.
I have the Gear 2 Neo and can start my task from the watch.
My problem is a task that requires the display is on.
I be able to activate the display and unlock it, when the cover is open. But when the Cover ist close, nothing happens.
When i send the intent "com.samsung.ssrm.COVER_OPEN" the S5 seems to get directly the info, that the cover is close again.
Has anybody a solution for this problem?
Thanks for your help,

This is exactly what I'd like to know. Sad that nobody bothered to reply. I guess I can try asking the same question agajn in another sub-forum.

How to Disable S View Cover Service/Process?

Hi All
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. So what I'd like to know is is there anyway to Disable the S View Cover Service or Process in App. Manager? Reason I ask is due to my GS4 always flashing the S View Cover lockscreen even though I don't even have an S View Cover on it, seems there must be a hardware fault.
I WAS going to take it in to get its motherboard replaced but it seems the local Samsung Smart Care are having a shortage of them and it may take over a month to get my phone back if I take it in, so I'm taking the matter into my own hands.
So is there some process I can disable to kill off S View Cover?
Thanks.
Bump.
Anybody?
Guess I'll root and keep searching...
Thought I had found it when I saw FlashBarService but that wasn't it. Wish it was just written S View Service, it would solve my ONE problem with my GS4. :/
Have u tried the following option?
Settings-My device-Accessory-S view cover

Am having same issue but alot worse. Phone always stays on the S-View screen as long as its on. Any way to fix?
I was having the same problem (i.e. S-view screen flashes randomly). I went to Samsung service center and they replaced the motherboard but the problem was still there. So I went again, they replaced the screen and the problem was fixed.

[Q] quickwindow cover issue

Hey guys!
first of all I did a search in all sub-forums and honestly it didn't help. so I'm asking here
I tried to find an original quickwindow cover in my city, but no success. so I went for a replica
It's working fine, but has a really annoying problem. when I flip the cover and fold it to the back of the phone (which is kinda necessary to use it with one hand). this leads to quickwindow widgets enabled and screen become useless.
I'm using Cloudyflex rom. I need to know if this is normal? or it's because of higher than standard magnet in this fake cover that make the sensor activated even from back! or perhaps rom related (which I doubted, based on my search)
thanks in advance

[Q] Compass calibration?

Can anyone please tell me how to do this on the S5 in a way that sticks? I can do it through the GPS status app, but if the phone is restarted, the calibration is lost. I know some phones have a test menu, but the old *#0*# doesn't seem to be working on the S5.

I managed to get the test menu working, but there doesn't seem to be a calibration option for the compass. Anyone have any ideas?
I just registered to reply you on this.
I have similar issue and found it is caused by the magnetic flip cover. When I remove phone from the cover and recalibrate compass it works well for long time. Also when I move the cover close to phone the compass is distracted and shows wrong direction to north.
My phone is new and I changed from S3. I have no such issue there.
Try your mobile without cover.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm having this problem despite having no cover on the phone

[Q] Force S-view for S5?

Hey guys, I've been trying for a while now, and have only found dead ends.
I purchased a Spigen Slim Armor View for my new S5, not realizing that their functionality had been changed since the S4.
Having easily realized that all the 3rd party apps I can find for "fake" S-views are god-awful. I started looking for a solution to bypass the check for an S-view chip, and force S-view mode on bootup. My phone is rooted, and I do have xposed frameworks, but every mod I try just doesn't work. Does anyone have any solutions? I'd rather not have to settle for the awful apps, or have to buy an authentic case/chip to physically mod my case.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated guys!
Tried a couple more scripts and kernels last night... Still no luck.
I'm hoping someone here has a solution!
Sort of in the same situation
I just bought the IC chip from aliexpress, 5$ for 2 and got a screen protector
After installing and inserting a small magnet from the headphones on the lower left of the spigen s-view case, the phone now recognizes this and forces the phone to show the s-view display
the only issue i have now is that the view in the spigen is smaller than the offical samsung s-view case, hence the camera and answering a call is cut off
is there anyway to mod the s-view window on the phone to make it smaller?

[Q] Black Screen w/ Time at top of screen?

more and more often my wife's S4 will turn into a black screen with the time at the top of screen...this will happen at random times she says, checking texts or looking at gallery pic's.
she has a generic phone case with a magnet to close the full cover (not a windowed cover.) BUT, like me, she leaves this full cover open (bent backwards and the magnet holds it that way) ALL of the time. i'm thinking the phone decides to go into Sview mode or something?? is there a way i can turn this feature off, or fix this problem another way??
BTW, she is running Android 4.4.4
thanks for any insight! --- art
bump?
Seems like you should be able to turn it off somehow. However, it might be a software issue in the case a data factory reset should fix it. If it's a hardware issue then I would take it to my provider or Best Buy to look at it.
i removed the case yesterday and it hasn't happened ... yet! hopefully that fixed it. thanks for the reply Stoney!
