Lag, stutter and dropping frame rates. Games are also not smooth all things from the new review of the Cat 6 that say are improved. All indications point to the Cat 6 launching at the IFA next month (not just that article). Its disgraceful that we've shelled out so much money only to be told this 2 months later.

Hopefully LG can work some magic on the firmware and too be honest I think this may become the norm with a high end phone coming out and then getting replaced with a 'prime' version.
I am waiting for the 810 phones which should have a vast improvement over the 801 and for my use the LG G3 is fine.

All companies are releasing "prime" phones Samsung already have in Korea and I believe HTC are about to soon. But yeah I agree that LG went to early with an 801 QHD device and are now releasing the 805 in Europe (and probably worldwide). Its not good customer relations.

I'm gonna rather shell $2000 into upgrade to Haswell-E+DDR4, than get me G3 Prime which brings me nothing extra to my G2.
Also, I'll wait till Android L and will see if LG will sort out their poor GUI tuning and optimization. I have no issues with fluidity of G2, but all that hype about lags of G3 makes me steer away from LaGs for some time

Thought I would start this thread for those who have info regarding the upcoming release of the One in Canada.
I have pre-ordered mine through Rogers. I believe the pre-order ends on March 22. Perhaps that is when we may expect the release of the One. That's the most solid info that seems to be floating around.
Anyone have info related to the Canadian release date, please post.

Mobilesyrup stated that Virgin Mobile will also carry it.
But can i buy it from Telus and use it on Koodo? From my understanding, its the same company, same network, so will i have any issues? Some network incompatibility?
Just moving back to Canada and need to get a plan and phone so im leaning towards Koodo as it offers good plans.
Really hoping the production delays won't be affecting us Canadians too much. I'm keeping close tabs on Mobilesyrup for any news regarding the One's release. Didn't go w/ the pre-order through Rogers. Figured I'll probably get it faster if I check various Rogers stores the day it's released.

Yes,
I did the opposite. I bought a One V from Koodo outright ($175), put my Telus sim card in it and was up and running in no time.
A Telus or Koodo "locked" device work on either. My "my Telus Mobility" page even shows a Koodo One V as my current phone.

Be careful, MOST of devices work on both carriers, but som eare locked to Koodo or Telus. For instance, Blackberries are locked, you cannot use a Telus Blackberry on Koodo.

Any news guys?
Damn I am jealous of all you guys. I got an HTC One X+ about 4 months ago. I would love to have the One but I need to wait for the next iteration. I know for the vast majority of people the storage is enough, but I need at least 64GB. My one X+ has 4 GB free and it is 64. Here is to hoping for the next one. I love the build quality of HTC devices compared to other android vendors, and from what it seems this one is the best so far.

Yup, blackberries are unique because of BBM and the fact that their email etc has to be routed through their servers. That is also why all companies have smartphone plans, then blackberry plans due to the licencing fee. If it is not a Blackberry, it should be fine. The fellow I responded to was asking specifically about the One

I am hoping the 64gb version of the One makes it here (in black). If not, 32gb is fine for me at least. I got the One V as a temp phone cause I was pissed last years One XL and S had only 16gb versions for Canada. Almost jumpsed on the One X+ but figured i'd wait for the inevitable spring / MWC ish flagship that HTC always releases. I am glad I did.

I read that it would be available in March. I haven't read of any delays in Canada. Nothing other than they won't disclose a launch date and it is nearing the end of the month.
So perhaps it no longer is March.

This sort of thing really puts me off getting this phone I certainly don't want to buy a phone for it to be out of date in 1 month.
It's put me off buying the current G3 too. I've read every review and 'hands on' preview going and I was even willing to look past only getting the 2GB version, but knowing there might be an upgraded version in the (very) near future will make me stay away from the current G3 until there is definite clarification

Well that's the million dollar question. That article says it's expected in July, which isn't that far away really, so if nothing else surfaces about it by the end of July you could probably safely assume that it was either just a rumour OR it's a new flagship that LG has planned for later in the year/next year/whenever

Haha, they should!.. But they won't I'd be amazed if an upgraded G3 with 805 actually happened, especially this side of the Pacific but we shall see. It states released in July but in regions outside of Korea the device isn't even being released until July in the first place, so it only really makes sense if it's being limited to a specific audience. It's a massive douche move though, to release a "flagship" and then release an upgraded model in the same year... or potentially same month!

Strong rumours of the S5 Prime and M8 Prime were stated just days after the release of those devices, now several months later there is still no official sign of the devices with a vague link to Android Silver (also a rumour!) in February.
If there is going to be a new g3 I would suggest it won't be out for quite some time.

Unfortunately it doesn't help potential buyers who don't want their phones to be obsolete pretty much right after buying it.
I cannot wait to get rid of my iPhone 5S so will get the G3 anyway.
Am actually laughing at the hue n cry here. Dudes, there will always be updates to electronic gadgets and particularly with smartphones in recent years.
All the issues & complaints by early buyers would be rectified in the 2nd set of production. How many cases of such we have seen in recent past. [Nexus 5 speaker grill modification being the latest ].
So no point in fuming at these developments. How much ever you might have been attracted by a device, its always better to wait for a considerable period before procuring one. There has to be always somebody to get it first right. so be it.
Chill dudes.

Iphone 6 is likely to be September/October time.
If you keep waiting there is always going to be a "next device", something is released roughly every 3 months these days, so there comes a point where you just have to accept it and pick a device.
I try, if I can help it to get a device as close to its release date as possible in order to minimise this, but there is no point worrying that it may or may not be replaced with something better in 3-6 months time.

Yep. Point taken. 1 month is really a tight slap on early buyers choice. But based on rumours going around, that handset with 805 might get launched only in Korean market.
Nevertheless, ppl can still import it from Korea. That would impact the price factor..hmm..not sure abt it.

How can you tell when your phone was made? I pulled the battery and mine doesn't have any dates on the sticker or any date anywhere on the phone that I can find. I got mine as a refirb from the insurance provider after I broke my last n3...and I have random issues that have been posted various places after the Kitkat OTA. Verizon won't replace it because it doesn't act up when I am near where I can get it replaced.
Why not wait until the N4 is released?
I would venture a guess of price. The N4 is going to be higher priced at release time than the N3.

Certainly if cost is the most important item.
After what I paid for my N3, then having it screwed up by an OTA...unless they put a 'non-forced OTA' guarantee on the N4...I'd say price is THE reason I would go N3 over N4. The rumored differences between the 2 don't justify the rumored extra cost.
A Verizon contact said there were rumors VZW would get this phone in late May. He/she stressed that it was just a rumor.

It'll probably come out with 3 Verizon logos, a locked boot loader, and enough blatware to make a fast phone run slow. Wouldn't be surprised if Verizon doesn't carry the leather option since they can't brand the leather with their logo lol

Here in the Netherlands it will be available at the end of may.
I called Verizon to replace my G2 (hardware issue) and he told me I was eligible for an upgrade and the G4 was coming out soon. No info given but good they know about it.
I had to drive over an hour, and then the place was hard to find, but I just kept thinking it was worth it..... brand new, LTE, Qualcomm processor. And sure enough I really love it! Seems way smoother than my old Tab S with exynos.
I had a problem updating it, but now I know I can always flash the latest world firmwares from Sammobile. Managed to update my security patch level from May to November. I don't figure there will be much to flash, but I may root it today, and then just always flash and root the latest international firmwares.
The big surprise is that my Tmobile smartphone sim works in the tablet, and seems to possibly work fully! Texting, phone calls, and data! Makes me tempted to up my plan to a One unlimited data plan, but maybe that's getting too crazy. So far it seems to work like a regular phone tho!
Anyway, I'm happy with this acquisition. Any other T719 owners here with tips or Info? Thanks
The "7" is the LTE, right?
I've just ordered then wifi only one (no use for LTE/phone tech), Snappy core.
I saw a review that showed the Snappy and the Exy side by side - the Snappy was visibly faster on doing the same thing and posted a benchmark some 30% higher than the Exy core one.
Should be good... hopefully, when (if) it arrives.

I saw a post somewhere here where someone explained what each digit means, but I believe the 7 indicates that it's the smaller model, in this case 8 inches, as opposed to the 8xx, which is the 9.7 inch model.
But in any case, I think you'll like it, it actually runs smoothly. This is my first Tab S2, but I had the Tab S with Exynos, and it was super stuttery, especially considering it's an expensive device!

Nice, but I got an even better deal. I bought a T710 for $100 because the Wifi wasn't working. I figured the seller had just messed up somehow and maybe I could fix it. Turns out I don't need to. The warranty is good until Nov 2017 so Samsung is fixing it for free!!!

I think you're right - the last digits say the sub-type.
13 = wifi
17 = lte, as far as I know.
And the other guys - it makes you wonder... why didn't the seller do the warranty thing?
I mean... if something breaks down.. the very first thing I do (after a yell of frustration) is to check the warranty to see if it's still valid.
Good catches though!

I was surprised not just by the fact that it was in warranty but also by how long it had left. Nov 2017. It wasn't built until April of 2016.

Perhaps it was built in April but not sold until November. I kinda remember Sammy having 1 year warranties maybe?

Their policy is one year from the original date of sale. But not being the original buyer, I don't know what that was. I bought it on eBay from what appears to be an online dealer selling many different products.
All I know is that when I contacted tech support, they checked the serial number and gave me the info about the build date and warranty expiration. It is now in route to NJ for repair.

Ah ok, nice! Keep us posted. In my case I got a phone from a vendor at the mall, so he perhaps didn't even want to mess with sending it in, since he had a pile of phones to sell lol. But still I wonder if he would have done it if he would have known..

I've just read my warranty booklet that came with the just arrived GTab 2 9.7 - two years.

Delivered Monday evening, one week after it was shipped to Samsung. Looks and works like a brand new tablet.
