Its a character in the movie THOR
No seriously, loki is a patch to the bootloader needed to bypass the locked bootloader so you can flash roms/kernels etc...

I wouldnt worry about manually installing loki. Most rom devs include it in the rom itself and most recoveries auto lokifiy the install.
Edit: Note sure about Tmobile as I have the D800 version.

You can only boot to recovery and download mode. Im not sure there is another mode you can boot into.
a brief explanation without going into detail
Loki is something we apply so that even though we have a locked bootloader we can flash custom roms/kernels, in the moment you install custom recovery that has been pre-lokied(both twrp and philz are pre-lokied) you have a lokied bootloader and can then flash custom roms/kernels and sometimes the devs add loki to there rom incase after flashing the bootloader needs to be re-lokied
so without loki we wouldn't have all the roms/kernels we have on our device

actually the device has the ability to boot into bootloader/fastboot in addition to recovery/download the reason the above are not mentioned is because they can only be triggered to boot if something goes wrong, I know of ways you can trigger your device to boot into fastboot on purpose but I do not know of a way to boot into the bootloader or to trick it into doing so

no you cannot boot into the bootloader, loki has nothing with booting your device into a specific mode

Hi, I have now tried to flash all available TWRP recovery versions of the SM-T535 with odin, each time I always come back to download mode. Does anyone have an idea? Am I doing something wrong? The recovery of I sub77 is eigendlich for the SM-T530. The device does not differ! (Except LTE) Do I need to change the build maybe? I'm Clueless!
Best Regards

Ed,
hi, you would need to be able to get me the stock recovery.img for your device. However if the device has a locked bootloader, you won't
be able to use a custom recovery until someone developes a means to unlock it.
If you are determined, try my recovery build for the sm-t531 matisse3g which is located in the OP of sub77's Philz/Advance CWM thread.

Greetings,
Thank you for using XDA Assist. To find you the best possible solution to your issue, I'm going to move this thread to your device's Q&A forum. You'll find expert help there. Good luck!!
So here's the story, My dad's wife and him split up and he wants to give me her old s8 we clear it and of course there's the FRP lock so we talk to samsung and send it in to be reset. They send it back and nothing has been done to it. I tried to use ODIN to flash some software but it was stuck at setup. What is the easiest method if the phone is rooted?
Flash a custom rom thats it.

Is it possible to relock bootloader with stock recovery but with a custom rom like lineage os? It'd be really great to know how to do it if possible.
