Private Mode Failed to Enable - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted my Galaxy s5 g900t with towelroot and downloaded supersu, I accidently disabled knox through supersu and my private mode will not work. I did have xposed installer as well but i believe it is now uninstalled. I have also noticed that i cannot switch from dalvik runtime to art runtime anymore as well. Considering i am a new to rooting, i plunged in without creating a backup of my photos and videos , does anyone know of a way to re enable knox, or to retrieve private mode photos or videos in any other way or are they a lost cause? If someone can help me retrieve them, ill allow them to see the videos lol just kidding, but help is appreciated! A pre-thanks to anyone who can help!

There is no need to open multiple threads on the same subject. Why don't you continue with your first thread about this that already has replies?

I posed a new update of my module XSecureStorage it supports now SHealth and Private mode.

"Failed to enable Private Mode. Try Again." Private Mode not supported with ART
I was trying out all the various features of my new S5 today and discovered when enabling Private Mode it flashes the following "Failed to enable Private Mode. Try Again." and obviously fails to enable Private Mode.
The only things I've done to my phone are enabling Developer Options and switching runtime to ART. I noticed that on reboot, having ART enabled displays the Custom unlock icon on the bootscreen. Does using ART prevent the usage of Private Mode?
EDIT: Switched back to Dalvik and verified Private Mode now works as expected.
I've had the same problem and I also have ART enabled

I have the exact same issue. Can't go into art mode and private mode was working before I rooted the phone. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Same issue with me. I'm on Davlik, rooted with Xposed, I'll try see if any of the modules may have broken it.
Im an omega fan. Just recently I did a search of his post and read that with knox triggered private mode won't enable. Can anyone confirm this?

Since this is the Verizon SM-G900V forum, no we cannot confirm this as we have no root or unlocked bootloader. I would defer to chainfire's response on the matter.

This is really confusing - why are some people saying they've got it working after rooting (which trips knox) and others aren't able to get it working. If it was because of Knox, then it shouldn't work for anyone who rooted their device, let alone installed Xposed.
i fixed the problem

It does according to Chainfire (and users who root). Triggered it on my Note 2 and Note 4.
Is it different for the S5?

Yes, on the VZW S5 it dosen't trip Knox. I'm pretty sure Chainfire is refering to CF Autoroot witch dosen't work on our locked bootloaders. We have to use towelroot.

Thanx I'll get back to you when I have trIed these options.
I successfully rooted using towelroot and installed supersu. I also installed foxfi. It was able to get me past the mobile hotspot problem but still could not tether. It requested I install pd(something) On the computer first..Wil this always be the case? Can I not tether without installing that on the computer?
Also I have had to reset to factory settings because i happended to activate "talk back", the result was that the phone kept reading everything i touched but thats all it did meaning i could not select anything, not even switch off or do anything!! Not even unchecking talk back..instead it would read out loud "talk back" and the phone was hanging so bad ..another thing is the foxfi prompted for a password which then took over the screen lock. I went to screen lock settings to disable but the option of disabling was unavailable.
I have also noticed after trying to use the Light touch option that it works so terribly on 4.4.2. The whole screen un uniformly flashed pink at every touch in such a way that an epileptic would not survive the effects. I had to switch the phone off for this to be disabled as well. So there goes the woes of my Samsung galaxy s3 sch-I535 Verizon. Anyone able to address all my issues is more than welcome. Note: foxfi did not sort the tether problem. It sorted the hotspot though.
Download xposed installer. Then use xtether module. Then use st9ck hotspot app

S Health crashing

Have a bad problem with S-Health, I rooted using Towel root, then installed Xposed, S-health crashed, so i removed xposed and s-health persisted to crash, so i then performed a factory reset, and s-health continued to crash.
The only way it'll work is if it's not updated, I personally don't want root no more i just want it to work.
Stock rom 4.4.2
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you remove the framework for xposed first? Anyways since you wiped the data partition, you may as well flash your ROM back and start from scratch. S health works when rooted with towel root but xposed still bugs it.

Crap no I didn't, I have wiped from the recovery though wouldn't that eliminate it ? I've now updated, was trying to avoid losing warranty. But now it never works. Phone isn't rooted no more and I'm not able to root with towel root either.
I'm guessing I'd have to flash a prior ROM via Odin and then re root, install xposed and then remove the framework if it's still somehow there.
Any ideas ? Thanks

Not sure larr, i dont care myself best ask about before you jump in
Try this...
1. Uninstall Xposed framework if not already.
2. Go in /system and open build.prop in a text editor
3. go to the line ( “ro.securestorage.support=true” ) and change it to false
4. Install the xposed framework
5. Clear the app data for S-Health and HealthService
6. Reboot
solution..

Dude are you going to post on every thread i make? Just to tell me to search? You're offering nothing in the way of a solution, more to the point, both the threads i've created were for unique questions, not all my questions are answered in other threads.

My Galaxy app's application hasn't been deactivated m8, it's always been on, the second i turn on S-Health it crashes, it's because my system says custom when in download mode i believe, problem is i've now updated my OS so i'd need to reflash a stock rom via odin and then re-root if i wanted to have access to the location that the user before you mentioned. Been away from home for a few days so not had the chance, might do it tomorrow.
Thanks for the suggestion, but if I turn on S-Health now i know it'll begin crashing again.

Have you tried using your own wifi (to make sure the problem comes from your phone and not from the 4G network) ? If the download works with your wifi but not with 4G, you can assume that your 4G provider is blocking p2p ports. Otherwise the problem probably comes from the configuration of your app.
Yes I have tried using my wifi and the same problem comes up I was able to download with wifi and without before rooting. It started right after I rooted the phone. I have tried different apps to download torrents with no success.

Use a system app uninstaller from the playstore (a red recyclebin logo app) and remove all knox related crap
if you dont want your knox warranty to trip.
If it has already tripped.. i.e. if you are running a custom recovery like cwm or philz
Then...let me see what xda has for you..
try this if you are running a custom recovery to deknox but read the thread first.

How did you root? Because if you have the sprint version, then you don't have an i9505 but an SPH-L720.
Yeah that it like I said I'm new at this and still learning but I don't remember what I used to root it..... sph-l720 is what I got.... been searching all over the place see if anyone has had this problem and haven't been able to find anything

Impossible to start the knox mode

Hey, everybody, guys
I wanted to ask you nicely if you can help me on this question.
I brought out the roots on the S4 with cf the car root
And I can not use the app knox at the opening of this last one is about second load then like creating the same mode is blocked by giving the message to me
Impossible to create the knox mode
I wanted to ask but not workable anymore and the app to you after the root?
Thank you very much
If you're rooted, simple: Knox will never work. Instead, all root accesses will be blocked.
