Hello I a new to the S4 I did have the S3 that I was able to flash and do everything I wanted so Im not totally new to this. I am trying to downgrade my modem to MDC I am currently on L720TVPUBNAF I am wanting to downgrade the modem so I can unlock sim and get the 16 digit password so I can use DFS or CDMA Workshop to get my MSL and flash my phone from Sprint to cricket. I have been able to root the S4 and flash Custom Sacs custom ROM. Whenever I try to Flash any Modems Or AIO Modem I always get Fail when using Odin by or using TRWP on the the phone. Is there any tutorials that show me how from the current Modem I am on or any sugestions. Also I have gave thought to Buying WIreless Workshop Service to allow full flash. But will I still need the MSL Number to do that or will I be able to do the full flash and all my services still work. Thanks for any info or help with this issue. First and for most not possible at the moment. You have the SPH-L720T and the unlock method that currently exists only works for the SPH-L720. So you cannot use any modems meant for the regular GS4 on the Triband version.

Ok thanks. So does this mean I cannot flash to Cricket at this time as well? If so is there an area for that with the version I have?

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to install this Modem on my Canadian S4. Without it, turning off the screen when Running any 4.3 TW ROM will make the phone too loose signal. When using Odin, it fails and nothing get installed.

but to unlock it i need to change the modem to MDC/MDL first before unlock according to the thread on xda developer website
so can i change direct the modem from MK2 to MDC/MDL directly using Odin ?
or is there a way to unlock the phone with the 4.3 rom and MK2 modem ?

If you are on the stock MK2 firmware with the Knox bootloader you CANNOT Odin to MDC or MDL or anything before MJA. Period. This question has been asked and answered dozens of times. ALL the answers you are looking for are here.
Please S E A R C H.
I believe you can Odin just the MDC modem to unlock your device. But you cannot Odin a stock tar file to downgrade. Just the modem should work. Autoprime has an MDC modem file in his international unlock thread that should work. Others on mk2 have reported successfully downgrading just the modem. If it doesn't work it will either fail in Odin, or you will have to Odin the mk2 modem back to fix it.

You can use Tibu and remove everything that contains Knox in it. That did it for me.

I uninstalled everything that contained Knox in it. I believe there was a few of them including two com.knox.xxxx
It's been a while since I did it so I'm forgetting the exact names and how many. I just used the search function in TiBu to find them so try that.

Hello all. I am new to this site but I enjoy it a lot and I learned a lot as well from the threads. I got AIO wireless service that has the I337 model galaxy s4. I successfully rooted my phone with Kingo root. After rooting my phone I tried to install a customer recovery on it with no success no matter what I did ( I tried every imaginable scenario). In the process of rooting my phone my kernel got damaged and my Wi-Fi stopped working. I am trying to re flash the phone with custom multi carrier rom but I think that my boot loader is locked and that is the reason I can’t install the recovery. If anyone can guide me in the right direction where I can unlock the boot loader would be amazing. Thank you all in advance
1. This section isn't for AIO wireless but I don't know if there is a section for it.
2. There is currently no way to unlock the boot loader.
3. If you want to restore it back to stock read about it in my signature.

This section is for all I337 variants. He has a different model than the AT&T I337, so that restore tar in your signature won't work and the bootloader may be unlocked for him depending on his carrier's choice.
EDIT: Here is the I337Z stock firmware. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448794
It says they did not get a recovery working, you may be stuck to Safestrap 3.65

4tele, I assume you used the AT&T Safestrap? I was not able to get AT&T Safestrap 3.65, 3.71, or 3.72 to work on my I337Z from Cricket (AIO) with KitKat 4.4.2, build number KOT49H.I337ZTUUBNE2. The app says it installed successfully, but it never seems to activate. Are you on KitKat? If so, what build number?

I used the AT&T safestap 3.65 but my phone was on MH1 firmware 4.2.2 and it worked, if you are on kitkat probably need to use the latest safestap I guess

I was able to root my phone properly. The key reason to root the phone was no access to tethering. Details for my situation:
Samsung S4, i337, MK2, andriod 4.3 from AT&T. I unlocked it and have been using with Rogers here in Canada but the tethering gives the Mobile data not available/invalid sim error.
I researched for solutions here and on google and all solutions required root, so I rooted the phone using the guide mentioned above. After that I used the method in this link

However, since I am using non-AT&T sim, this does not work any more. Further I uninstalled all AT&T apps using ES file explorer but still no luck.
Then I figured out and tried other solutions like FoxFi, etc etc.
Then I used the framework file from the thread below which was able to turn the toggle on.

Now I can see the the tethering tuned on. I can also connect to the wifi. however, it does not connect to internet. I think I am still missing some piece. I cannot post in the thread above as it is developers section. But I am lost, there is no further solution that I could find on forum or google. My mobile data works fine, I can turn on the tehter, I can connect to the hotspot, but I cannot connect to internet. It is a phone issue for sure.
I am not sure what to do in this case. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If there's a tethering mod for the i337m on 4.3, try using that tethering provision instead. Otherwise, you could try flashing a ROM that uses an i337m base, but you can't flash their stock firmware directly.

I have tried that tethering mod (if that means replacing the tethering.odex file in the system)
I don't know what i337m base ROM is, but if it is installing AT&T stock ROM, then won't I be in same situation again?

I337m is the Canadian S4 model, I'm saying to use a tethering method designed for that (the two you posted were for the Verizion and AT&T but not Canadian) or try a TOM based off the Canadian firmware. That way it'll have the file for your specific carrier tethering already in it.

Not the stock firmware, that won't work. I mean to try and find a ROM based off that firmware/made for i337m.

You'll have to look in the All Things MK2 and NB1 thread for install instructions and if it needs a modified updater-script for Safestrap. Also, the latest version is a 4.4.2 ROM so you'll either need to update to KitKat, use the KitKat Magic Toolkit, or use an older version of Goldeneye.
Please help me.. I have updated a SGH - I337m with Claro on 4.2.2 to a stock 4.4.2 NE3 trought ODIN and lost the signal inmediately. Emergency Calls only. Not registered on network when I try to conect manualy.
I`m not shure that my phone has unlocked and now is locked new bud I dont have a Claro Sim card, I use TIGO.
I have tried to unlock with RegionLock Away and not work for me, I have tried rooting, instaled TWRP, Philz Touch and Safestrap and I cant change my modem to try the unlock again. I tried flashing modems MF3, NC1, NE1, and I cant.
I tried too flash stock firmware 4.4.2 NE1, NC1, NE 2 , custom rom 4.4.2 and the baseband keep ever the same NE3.
Not work the Codes like *#0011#
Please help me what can I do.
My Bootloader is NE3.
