Don't know for you guys, but the Note 4 is probably the phone i've been waiting for for years. If these picture turn out to be true, i'm pulling the trigger on that one. Metal frame, 2K display, 4K recording, IOS, 3GB RAM, 32GB of storage minimum...yup, that most likely is my dream phone. I know this phone looks like a giant S2, but the S2 is the galaxy phone i liked the design the most.
Because of my carriers flexible upgrade policies, i've been upgrading phone every 6 months for the S and note line respectively, but after seeing this Note, I'm almost certain I will keep it until the next Note comes out, unless the S6 will be ever more beastly of course!!:fingers-crossed:
There are a few features I hope this phone will have, most of all, stereo speakers. I can see one speaker grill on the bottom, i hope there is another one on top. Besides that, i would not spit on integrated wireless charging. I mean waiting a few months and paying an additional 70$ for a wireless charging back and pad is a bit ridiculous. I also hope they make a few features better, such as fingerprint sensor, which i dont use because i think it's such a drag to swipe your finger on the button, i honestly hope they go for the same idea apple did with their 5S

The Note line have always been the real Samsug flasgships since release. Don`t know if i`ll get it though, i`ll wait for the Nexus 6 probably
ill be getting a note 4. i had a note 3 before i got the s5 and gave the n3 to my brother.
very often do i almost feel like trading him phones but the better camera and added water and dust resistance keep me from doing it. the note 4 is supposed to offer water and dust resistance, a better screen, and a better camera. (among other great things like more ram than the s5 and a better processor)
i miss stable asop roms, the s-pen, and the size of the screen of the note3. but i hope dev support for the note 4 will be just as strong as the note 3 and s5 has been.
I think I will buy. But will wait some time to see if there be any bugs. I'll let people to test it for me )). And then i'll decide what to do. But I agree that Note line is true flagship phone.
Yep, just got the S5 as a temporary phone, sold my Note 2 and will go for the Note 4 as soon it's released, actually, the Battery of my 2 year old Note 2 lasted longer then the S5 (8+ hours actual screen on time) and I really miss the bigger display. So yes I will go for the Note4 for sure
S5 is Really bad for aosp, i think never buy Samsung anymore.
Most def getting the note 4!!

And final
Unbelievable! They used the black button again on the black stylus! Didn't they learn their lesson last time from customers?
wow! note 2 is amazing

Let the hack begin
Time for the developers to get the note 2 rom on our mighty note 1. Let's see how
Long it takes:good:
i don't see the point of upgrading mine. nope.
Not that impressive with specs
Will stick with my Note and see how things go till I make the plunge, disappointment for sure.I feel Note -1 will remain unique comparing with this:silly:
The 2gb ram and quad core is hardly of any use.. Except hardcore games. Note 1 is super amazing for everything . also display on note 1 is better ppi and resolution wise. With jelly bean and the note2 features ported to note 1 I'm sure it's gonna be rocking.

I'll wait until it's rooted and plenty stable custom rom.
Thanks for this post, definitely an inspiration to work for more so I can buy this beast

One BIG nothing!
Shame, shame, shame! And, one more word: BLAME! What a sh.ty "upgrade".
wtf is wrong with you people? Its such an amazing device. I'm thinking about getting one by the end of the year and giving my note to wifey.
Comparing it to Nexus 7 is genious ... I want to see it next to first Note.

Things I like on the Note II
2gb Ram
Bigger Battery
Still not worthy of an upgrade. Plus I think the Note I has better screen resolution than Note II.
Not a big deal, i won't buy it... seems like S3 is better than note2
Video frome TheVerge
I knew they were going to use the s3 design on it, but I was hopping that they will go in another direction.
In my opinion s3 feels so cheap when you hold it, then it feels even cheaper when you are not holding it because of the glossy plastic and greasy fingerprints on it.... I'm gonna stick to my note, maybe note 3 will be better.
I like the hardware on note2, but still...
Can you confirm the LED Notification light? Because RGB Led doesn't exactly say it...
Can't believe no one else has said it.
F*ck the note 2... why halllloooo Samsung galaxy camera!!! Now that is one sexy beast!!!

It's the end of one beatiful friendship...
Let's check possible scenario:
1. New one Note 1 in my country is 420 €.
2. I can sell mine for about 300 €, if I was lucky... In perfect condition, btw, with 4-5 cases.
3. New Note 2 will be, IMO, around 600 € plus minus 20 €.
4. So, for 2 Gig of RAM, and better batery (+300 mAh) I'll have to pay +300 €.
5. Let's check the other manufacturers offers, it's about time...
10x
I found this guy that wants to exchange his note 3 for my nexus 5 but i will have to add 150euros cash along with the nexus 5.
Do you think it is worth ? I love the pure android on the nexus 5 , but i love bigger screens. Also no bloatware is amazing on the nexus.
Can i make a note 3 really something near the nexus 5 (talking about software)(bloatware, etc)
I think it depends on you. You can remove bloatware. You can even load GEL on the phone like I did. But does what you're losing from nexus 5 matter more or less than what you're gaining with note 3?
To me, s pen, bigger screen, nicer camera, better speakers, and longer battery matter more. I won't get Android first but I have a nexus 10 for that.
My 2 cents. Just to tease you, Iattached photo of note 3 with GEL.

It looks very clean. Nice ! I love OTA updates , and the material and build of the nexus 5 , i just love it. But the big screen and better camera really turns me on !! I'm so confused.
My philosophy is that OTA is nice but along with being first comes bugs. And no matter how much people trash touchwiz, it's the most popular. If people are still buying it, really isn't that bad. It also adds elements to OS you don't get with Vanilla Android. My buddy has one and just like the HTC One I ogle the hell out if the build. But this Black Note 3 is tremendously nicer in hand than my old note 2, so it's not as bad. At the end of the day they all have cases on them. Note 3 does feel nice though.

And what about the camera ? Is it really a good move to exchange my nexus5 + the 150euros cash for a brand new note3 ?

The camera, to me, is phenomenal. There's a thread with samples in it, but the camera on my phone definitely trumps my point and shoot now. No reason to have a point and shoot when your phone has a camera like this. It's definitely better than the Nexus 5's camera.
Howdy everyone,
I am planning to buy a Galaxy Note 4 by end of upcoming January. I always used to be an android player (Had Samsung S3, Note 10.1 and HTC One M7) but I bought an iphone 6 plus as I was really curious to get my hands on ios on a bigger display. I like the iphone and how it functions but it is really so simple in a way that makes a raw performance demanding guy like me feels dull and bored. Do you guess a Note 4 is my best buy? Or do you have other recommendations? Thank you.

With any luck Lollipop will be on the Note 4 by then. Could make a fast phone even faster. I think you'll want to see reviews on LP on the Note 4 before you decide.
I've been using nexus devices for the past two to three years and wanted to try a phablet device. Got the Note 4 and I'm loving it. Touchwiz will take a bit of getting used to but once you slap on Google Now launcher, Nova or whatever suits you, most of the in your face stuff goes out of the way. The thing that I'm loving most about the device is the battery and camera. A recent software update from Samsung has increased the battery life and also addressed a lot of the lagginess with Touchwiz. Overall, the experience is smoother and much better. After recently rooting my device, I've been able to get rid of most of the bloat on the device as well. Overall, I think it's a good buy. It is a pricey device though so you might want to weigh your options before making a decision. For me the screen, battery, camera and how a large device like this feels in my hands makes me happy with the decision I made. The build quality on this is the best compared to all the other Note devices that you'd have come across in the past.

Lol. That had me laughing thanks.
But to respond to the op, tomorrow should be the announcement of the note 5 and the next edge device(which should be the s6 edge plus) that doesn't necessarily mean release. Prob start taking pre orders though. Im picking up another note edge tomorrow to replace the hole in my heart so i am gunna take a good look at both of them and will prob be ditching my s6 for one or the other. Guessing the note 5 since i should have a note edge already. Unless the s6 plus blows me away which i dont see happening.

Will see. All the offocial invitation are for one device not two. Leaked prices and Pre-orders are for edge + only. So we will see.
BTW I am expecting lessons from you to help me learn how to use Internet. Your comments are the proof of your good education.
It seems like the rumors about a regional launch for Note 5 are true. In Romania the pen is missing from the advertising, the rest is the same
I hope the n5 will have an ir blaster, rumours say it hasn't
There is Note 5:

The Samsung teaser said it is a Galaxy Event, not Note Event though Note5 will also announce together you clearly see Note5 with SPen in the picture. The big question is an unknown third device there with 6.5~7" size, I'll call it as S6 Ultra(much like the Sony Z1 Ultra 6.44").
I owned Z Ultra from Sony. It was the best device ( first in the world with sd800) except Note series at the moment. The only negative was his camera and the lack of led light. Otherwise awesome. Maybe it's Samsung time now...

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-Galaxy-Note5-vs-Galaxy-S6-first-look_id72405
We are yet to draw more detailed conclusions about the Galaxy Note5’s camera performance, but the initial impressions are for a snappy camera that captures great images. We also noticed that the double-click quick activation shortcut is present here as well, and Samsung has added the option to control shutter speed in the Pro camera mode.
But still a good news there, I think we'll have manual shutter speed in Pro mode soon.

What?
Nevermind. Oh well maybe we will get the improved version. One with better battery and extra storage. They have done stuff like that. Remember the s5 lta
Went to play with them. I still think the note series is nicer. they both feel too small to me.
The weird thing about them is that its not really fair to call them 5.8 and 6.2 inches (even though mathematically correct). really they should be called WIDE 5.3 and 5.5 inch screens. i mean, if it was stretched to 10 inches yet only once inch tall, it would be an 11 inch screen, but that wouldnt make it a better viewing experience.
They just feel like iterative changes to the s7.
Camera is good, but pixel still better IMHO.
the worst thing, by far, IMHO is the single firing speaker. I have always had notes, but after the last fiasco went through every device on the market and especially loved the mate 9 and iphone 7 plus (sorry to all here). Once you have stereo speakers you cant go back. thats now become a must have for me. I hope they add to the Note 8.
I wanted to get a new device. Now I dont know what to do!!!

For the Plus I'm looking at the extra screen real estate as a bonus. I've got a screen the same width as my long dead Note7 but extra screen length which is good for reading and other scrolling type content. In landscape you get extra width. It is 100% beneficial when you have two apps open at the same time which I do frequently. So nothing lost over my 5.7" Note7 and something gained.

People on the Note7 forum made the S7 Edge appear to be a Model T in comparison when deciding on a Note7 alternative. If the Note7 wasn't perceived as iterative to the S7-Series how can the S8 be? At the end of the day whether Samsung or someone else what's left to do to a rectangular glass-fronted slab that's new and novel? As evolutions go the S8's are far more different based on their lack of bezels and their edge displays. Huawei is doing edge screens and LG is doing bezel-less. Soon there will be multiple bezel-less edge screened phones. Then what? I guess that's why Samsung's working on foldable.
Camera is good, but pixel still better IMHO.

Based on? Both the Exmor and ISOCELL sensors in the S8 are newer versions and it appears Samsung's done some major work on the underlying s/w. We'll see what that brings when more detailed comparisons to other current phones are published.
The worst thing, by far, IMHO is the single firing speaker.

That's a use case thing. 90% of my speaker use is conference calls and dual speakers and sound enhancements hurt more than they help. My content playback is typically the occasional YouTube video imbedded in a news article or an ad. For serious content I have BT speakers ranging from the pocketable IconX to some pretty high end over the ear BT cans. The value of mobile speakers is very individual and a YMMV.
I thought they had dual/stereo speakers? Using the headset speaker as the 2nd speaker. That has been reported at many sites as a spec. If not, I am disappointed in not having dual speakers especially when it can easily be done with a software tweak.
