Hi
Client has signed the Xap(Windows Phone 8 Application) and is trying to deploy using application deployment tool.
but is getting following error.
"Installation of the application failed. Run time error has occured. Fix the capabilities in WMAppManifest.xml file."
Xap is working fine without signing. What could be the Issue?
Please help
Thanks
Enterprise apps are supposed to be deployed differently from unsigned ones... try emailing the .XAP and opening the attachment on the phone.
Also, this is the Windows 8 forum. It is not a Windows Phone forum. You are in the wrong place.

Hi!
I have not a common problem. I upload only 3 applications for my HTC HD2, but when I send something else by the XAP instaler pops up the following error:
Connection Error
-Please Make sure your phone was unlocked!
-Please Make sure you connected device is a PC and the Zune launched
Try again?
The phone is unlocked and of course, synchronized with the Zune.
Please help me.
You need WP7 developer tools installed on your pc as well to run xap installer properly. Or maybe there's an issue with the max number of assigned apps, edit the registry like this: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg\Install]
"MaxUnsignedApp"=dword:7fffffff
(I have attached the regeditor for you)
I am using Application Deployment it works fine transferred couple xap apps without any errors, i tried other apps but when i lick deploy i get error.
"Error-Installation of application failed. Xap signature is not valid or the WP manifest file is invalid. Re-sign with valid signature and fix the manifest file."
Well anyone got solution cause i really need to install couple apps but it keep giving me this error. My phone is unlocked it was pluged in and zune was running.
I need your help please if possible.
did you try XAPDeployX?
also from where you downloaded this apps? from this forum?
i got it from this forum
i tried the other deployer same error
did you have installed:
.net Framework v4
WP SDK 7.1
if you unlocked phone with Chevron (old free or paid) you can deploy only 10 xap files
my phone is unlocked etc i have everything installed hm
Hello all,
i'm trying to install Windows 7.5 on my HD2, but I can't install any of the required programs/application because of the error in the title. Can anyone please advise what this error is and how I can fix it? Thanks in advance.
Indy
Windows Mobile programs have - like most of the other Windows programs - the extension EXE. When you try to run a Mobile program under W32 (normal Windows) the error message from your title appears. Seems as if you're doing something wrong. What guide do you use?

Nice, can you please send me kitchen, i also have a solution for the expired certificate problem so you can surf the web. You can extract them from Windows 7, 8 , 10 in the right format and then install with the Builtin certificate manager.
If someone can share them from Windows 10 in a supported format, cer does work maybe der, crt sstl but pem cant be read or converted to the other Formats without private Key.
