Thanks, although I'd rather know why or what did this. Probably Samsung's own proprietary spyware that they stuff into all of their own apps..

How do you know they won't appear in gallery? Of course they shouldn't appear but they did. Even spyware has bugs you know. I opened gallery and saw a bunch of pictures that I didn't take.

Seems a bit hard to believe this story. If this we`re true articles, posts and forums would be covering this all over the place.

Like I said spyware apps can have bugs too.. This was actually the first time I left phone data on while sleeping, and then it did this

Do you have some dark apps installed that are not installed from Google Play? I use Android since the T-Mobile G1 and haven`t noticed a single picture in the Gallery which i didn`t take myself all this time.

Yes and there's nothing unusual there. One other weird thing is that Google Camera is no longer able to save photos.

That doesn`t seem normal to me, where are they saved now? I`d say goodbye to these apps if i we`re you. Who knows what apps they can access and possibly change in their settings. Best is to do a data factory and clean the external sd card if need be.
As said by @russ18uk (beat me too it) discussing warez/cracks is illegal. Better request this thread to be closed by a mod or i will. Good luck and stay off the dark side.

This appears to be spyware, your phone should not be doing on it's own, if it were me i'd wipe the thing to be safe. As the phone is relatively quick when it comes to phones you could have all kinds of stuff running in the background, avoid whatever you're installing and stick to simple and reliable sources. Paid for apps are more reliable than free ad supported ones, they've got a smaller footprint and are less hassle.

Speech to Text Tips & Tricks

So for the past few weeks I've been using the speech to text, speaking slowly and enunciating every word as much as I can so that it gets it perfectly. But it always messes up. Hmm.
Well, the past few days I've started speaking faster, and I've noticed that it comes out with better accuracy. Even if I speak sometimes really fast, it still gets it perfectly. Anyone else have similar results?
What about some other tips and tricks for using the speech to text?
(One is of course swipe the keyboard left to right to bring up the voice input.)
Also, you can say "period" and "exclamation mark". What else is there?
And how do you do capital letters?
It must be caching your previous STT (speech to text) files, so that could explain why it seems to get better.
another n00b question
this feature requires data services right? from what i've heard your voice is sent to google's servers for processing, is that correct?

If its caching, its for things you've spoken before....not for things you speak for the first time. Thats what caching means. It could also be part of the intelligence code on Google's side.

That was my point, that it's NOT caching. I know what caching is. Re-read the last few replies; your confusion on the "nope" mixed you up badly.
Does anyone know whether Google's voice recognition software does in fact cache things, i.e. you can "train" it into understanding you better over time? I'm asking this because my accent's not exactly standard American, so I haven't made much use of the feature (it does get many of the things I say admirably, though).
you can spell words for it, i'm not sure if you can do spaces or not though, I haven't tried.
How do you get voice search to Navigate to a someone's address? (Home Screen -> Search button)
I said "Navigate to John Doe's Home" and it got it 100% perfectly, but it doesn't actually bring navigate to my contact's address.
What's the trick to making that work?

Someone somewhere said something about it learns as it goes, or it gets better at understanding you. I'd like to know how, as there is no way to tell it if it got things right...
I was trying to tell it 'Post Buzz' and it got it wrong every time, there was no way for it to learn, if I couldn't tell it when it was getting it wrong.

Good, your idiocy is not needed in my thread I tried to explain, but you didn't understand, so sure, good riddance.
Let me check though, cause I'm confused. I thought caching was all about storing and bringing back something that had been used before? If it was the first time he said it, how had it cached that phrase before?

Andy, Your definition is exactly the same as mine. However Paul starts his retort (quoted) with a negative (nope) and tries to back it up by admitting that he said buzz.google.com for the first time and it worked. (absolutely no caching involved in this case so his 'nope' makes no sense and does not disqualify my statement. Hence the nope is pointless/illogical and only serves to demean me , His future posts (quoted below) illuminate his attitude/character quite clearly. ).
If it worked fine the first time and you accepted the translation...great.
Only accepted translations are remembered by the intelligence/caching logic. You can prove this my mumbling a few in-between words of a sentence that was translated correctly in the past... the translation will still be accurate.
Some memorable quotes:

You suggested that his increasing successes were due to caching.
If caching were the (only*) reason for the increasing successes then he would only be seeing increased successes on phrases he has previously spoken.
In fact, he is seeing increasing successes with phrases that he has never spoken before. This is counter-evidence to your theory that caching was the reason for the successes.
Thus, he does not believe your theory is correct. "Nope" may be a brusque way of saying that, but his counterexample does, actually, weigh heavily against your suggestion so a negative response is warranted.
(*) You said "It must be..." which would tend to imply that your suggestion was the only reason behind why things would be improving. His counterexample minimally indicates that it cannot be the "only" reason for improved successes, but if you want to relax your statement to "One reason might be that it caches" then his counterexample doesn't strictly rule out your suggestion, but it means that there have to be other factors coming into play as well which are helping it understand him better on new phrases.
I'm with farbear. The way I see it, you basically said 'It got it right because you've said it before and it remembers' and he said 'Nope, it's the first time I said it' you then got all upset... I really don't get it.

At&t Bloatware is Removable

I have successfully removed everything that At&t added to the phone including At&t Barcode Scanner, NFS Shift demo and Blockbuster, Etc. No root was needed for this. Hope this makes everyone happy.
Nice find... some things are still part of the ROM, like DLNA - but everything ATT is removable.
I think Moto and AT&T are starting to realize it is easier to not package this stuff as part of the ROM.
DLNA could only be a bonus.. glad to hear that the bloatware is removable.

DLNA = digital living network alliance.
It is a technology that allows streaming media to supported devices over a network. e.g. with the right application, you could send a video from your phone to your ps3 or another DLNA receiver.

There should be a lot of software to power that laptop accessories as expected. Motorola is simply misstepping. Good hardware can't go anywhere without good software. And here is what motorola did:
1. Bad upgrading track record
2. Bloatware.
3. No choice to remove the crapware (depend on if you need the laptop docks or not) to power the docks.
4. A signed (possibly not unlockable) bootloader.
Congrat Moto, you gain momentum from the Droid and you slept on it. Hahahaha.

I googled this when I first got the phone and it seems in Korea they make the phones so you CAN'T disable the shutter sound. (It is illegal)
My work around was to download a silent camera app from the play store for moments when you do not want folks to know you are taking photos. :good:
I rooted mine and changed the shuttersound.ogg to .ogg.bak no more sound.
I think I should root my note..
But I have doubts regarding some "secure" apps could not work cause they chek if the phone is rooted.. I m taljing about bank app, pay tv app (Sky in italy)..
Anyone have a experience with these apps?
Another question, for root permission I understood I have to flash a twrp recovery as well, true?
If one day I want to return "stock", is it sufficient to flash the stock firmware by Odin?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kmshack.mute
I don't know if it works on the new S8 Software, but on my Galaxy S7 with Nougat it works perfectly

Read the instructions in the OP here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-fe/development/root-note-fe-t3648736. As rooting involves disabling sm-verity, you will not be able to use any app that requires a fully secure device. Remember to backup your device with TWRP before you modify it.
You can flash stock via Odin when you want to return. Bear in mind that you will lose whatever modification(s) you made to disable the shutter sound.

Well see like the phone recording laws you have to go and look on a per state basis. Just because it can do something doesnt mean it is legal in all cases. Like many places require that you get peoples permission before taking phones at a public event. It all depends on your state.
Yes it is old. But that is on purpose. It was the basics for anyone that wants to know more to start off on.

It's because you restored the app data from a OnePlus One backup. Wipe XDA app data and it should pick up the correct values.

Aye it's decent enough fella, be nice to select text on the fly though or to share a specific post via its actual line number.
Ways around it though I suppose.
In regards to power consumption, it's not anywhere near the top of my battery hog list so I'm not too worried about that.

Aye, unfortunately sharing by post line would mean we'd have to use some kind of complex anchor system since each person's device (or PC) could show different text depending on the resolution, etc.
As for copying text, we had to get rid of inline long press due to an Android bug. Instead you can long press on a post and select copy text, then copy from the dialog that pops up.

It's because you restored the app data from a OnePlus One backup. Wipe XDA app data and it should pick up the correct values.

Nah, I tried it but I said why did I even pay $1000 on a phone that I'll spend the whole time getting good results lol
I use the phone without even looking at the battery ?

I guess I'll stick to the regular app, I'm getting good results everyday with my usage, even with Pubg ?
I don't think I need more than having a superb phone that lasts for more than one day with a great usage ?

Yea that'll work unless it was made by Facebook..
They want their hands in everything you own..
I remember after I got rid of my original account I was playing a game on Android and I'd progressed wow far, so I wanted to save me progress, but the game only allowed FB syncing.
So against my better judgement I created a new account.
Fake name was simply called "Gamehead dlads"
Then verified with a fake DOB, fake email, fake everything.
There was nothing at all in any of the details I provided, I did not allow access to my contact list or phone, or location, I did not talk to anyone, didn't give it anything.
Within 1 day, I was being shown people I know from all over Britain, my family, my wife, mother, friends from school, ex GF's, everybody.
How? I'd be extremely careful not to link any information, the email was fake, name was fake, all permissions denied, it kept asking but I always said no.
If I've denied the app absolutely everything? How did it do that if it wasn't being deceitful? Supposedly that's Impossible if our permissions are to be believed,
Facebook isn't an app that plays ball, it's an app which is paid for handsomely and the price you pay is your identity.
I'll never get FB again, it's just wrong.

Yep, you're absolutely right and that's why I'm going to delete it very soon. They know everything about us, Facebook even knows what you talk, if you talk about something near the phone, there's a big chance that you see advertisements on Facebook related to the subject you talked about.

Lol it's funny you should say that.
I was playing a game (silly one where you upgrade this over time, no idea why I was)
Anyway, the game shows progression faster if you watch an ad so I did, anyway one day I was on the couch after work watching a movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, extremely distinct music, anyway after a while the adverts I was watching quickly began to only show the pirates of the Caribbean game.
I put that instance down to coincidence but this has happened several times..
I've written to Google but obviously they aren't going to respond, why would they? The best answer for them is no answer at all.
Meanwhile we remain the product.

I was playing a game (silly one where you upgrade assets over time, no idea why I was, bored I guess)
Anyway, the game shows progression faster if you watch an ad so I did, anyway one day I was on the couch after work watching a movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, extremely distinct music, anyway after a while the adverts I was watching quickly began to only show the pirates of the Caribbean game, my phone was in clear earshot of the movie.
I put that instance down to coincidence but this has happened several times with products appearing on my Google feed.
I've written to Google but obviously they aren't going to respond, why would they? The best answer for them is no answer at all.

Strangely enough I've been getting wake locks from Google play services, just working on fixing them now.

Indeed, that's what exactly happens all the time.
The problem is that I rely on Facebook sometimes, I think I'll try to keep WhatsApp only haha
