Hello guys, so i want to buy this phone, but in Korea Version which is a little cheap , so tell me guys will i be able to use custum roms with korea version , or just dont matters ??
I bought it from here : http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Orig...re-1GB-RAM-16GB-ROM-Android-4/1952112561.html
Take a look guys, if its a korea version, or just Internacional version made in Korea ?
Yes, but very few Roms/kernels are available here on xda due to less popularity of the phone compared to the international version for example. You'll see the thread for the Korean version here in the general forum if you do a quick search.

hmm so u say that the Galaxy S III Android Development roms wont work on korea version, are u sure, because evrything there seems the ssame, even model number is I9300 ?
I just got this, take a look: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Orig...re-1GB-RAM-16GB-ROM-Android-4/1952112561.html
so the korean version should have a diferent model number right ?
Yep Korean version has a different model number( SGH- something) to the international model (GT-I9300) and as far as I know you can't install roms/kernels that are meant for a certain device with a specific model number onto a different one. So installing a ROM that is meant for the s3 international model onto a Korean model could result in...."bad things"

thanks bro, i realised that too , its just made in Korea , but the only thing im scared is that is a Refurbished Phone ?
It shouldn't really be a problem, refurbished means that maybe it was damaged in exterior like the body or maybe internals like motherboard had to be replaced but is now fully functional. So as long as it works 100% fine you should be fine. Maybe you can ask questions to the seller.
P.s if you have eBay maybe you could use that, I think it'd better and there are many cheap s3's there

Hi Guys,
Here in france, we only have the option of the M110S Galaxy S and not the i9000.
Since I am very interested in changing the rom to a non-touch wiz rom and since we do not have a M110S section here, does that mean that the same process etc can be used with both?
I would appreciate any help on this topic.
As far as I know the M110S is the korean version. In France as well as in Europe, they only sell the i9000. I wonder how you ended up with an M110S...
Looking at the phone specs and pictures I can't see any differences between it and the Galaxy S, so I'm curious as to why it has a different model name?....
Is it CDMA or something? As to my knowledge all i9000 are GSM, so that's the only thing I could think of.
well.. i havent bought it yet. i browsed through the website of orange and matched the pic to the m110s..
I'll have a look at it and confirm..
na we have the i9000 in France
Orange doesn't even have it yet (although there are ways to get it through shops like the phone house and all).
So far only Virgin, Bouygues/Universal Mobile have it in shop
phonehouse.com and phoneandphone.com have them.
Bought mine at phoneanphone.com and couldnt be happier.

DMB, different firmware (and hence different software, no swype, no social app, some features like swipe left/right in contacts for text/phone call are gone), I believe a different radio. DMB and a quicker Froyo launch are big wins, the rest is BS that pisses me off

Hi Chrisluffy25,
I would like to ask you what issues have you encountered when using the galaxy s m110s (korean version of galaxy S) in the philippines?
i heard there are some problems compared to using the galaxy s i9000 in the philippines.
Appreciate your inputs.
ahaha.. i said that no froyo at all but im in froyo now without rooting the phone...and oh yes!! it was a great device but as i said.. dmb tuner is useless maybe until 20 years from now..
how much do you planning to buy?
i would like to start the ball rolling on this thread that may somewhat cater to the filipino owners, users and lovers of the galaxy note...
being a new owner, i would like to find resources and share knowledge base for the galaxy note from our fellow pinoys...
i hope this thread blossoms as it does with our own galaxy s2 thread in the sgs2 string...

My parents are going to the Philippines later this month, in the Makati/Taguig area mainly.
1. How much are GNote's selling over there for
2. A good place to purchase it in that area for a great price
3. I'm assuming GNotes on sale in the Philippines are the GSM version with Exynos and unlocked (can use on AT&T or Smart Talk in the USA)?

1. for most online stores (kimstore/dbgadgets/widgetcity) they are selling it from 28 - 29K (service warranty) and additional 3K with the samsung warranty...samsung stores sell it between 33-35K...
2. most cellular shops in sm malls now offer competitive prices (unlike before)...they sell between 31-33K with the samsung warranty...you can check out technokid/aerofone/bsd shops etc...
3. yes the notes here are international unlocked versions (and some sell "gray" international unlocked) which can be used anywhere...the come with the 1.4 exynos chip
- was able to answer this after almost a month of canvassing

Thanks for the quick reply. So if I get the Samsung warranty and my phone should break while using it in the USA, then the warranty is only valid in the Philippines? That would be OK for me because I have family in the Philippines so I could send it to them if it would need to be fixed it's just turnaround time would be a hassle (would have to ship phone there, then my relatives would have to send it in, then send it back to me after it was serviced), but I wonder if the warranty could be used in the USA?
And what is the Gray International Version?
Gray version means to say it comes from the gray market...
not usually sold by official distributors of Samsung and its affiliated partners.
Usually you will get less or No warranty at all on some gray market stores. Some offer you warranty but only to the store where you bought your unit.
Sorry i just had to post here because of the whole pinoy thing. Mabuhay!

I've already posted this in the accessories section but here are my cases again and I bought them in Singapore.
The blue case (Uniq) is probably going to be available here in the PH soon 'coz I see this brand cases for the iPad and Galaxy tabs in local stores and I'm telling you now, don't buy this. Yes it looks great, but the case is covering the mic and when I make calls while using the case, the person on the other line can't hear me clearly so it's kind of sitting in my shelf at the moment.
The reason I got the brown case (Verus) is because of the speaker hole. I was thinking of getting other cases but most of them don't have this hole and I find it really convenient to have this feature so you won't need to flip over the case whenever taking calls.

Not familiar with where Aerofone is though
Im not yet rooted and I've had it for about a week and a half. I might just do so this weekend. I will have to downgrade the firmware first since I did 2 OTA updates already
Currently I'm using a knockoff SGP Ultra Thin (For Php250). White case on White Note REALLY looks nice, but I could use something with a stand
The Verus case looks okay , but I would really prefer not having a flap since its annoying to use one handed (on the MRT) or to use it in landscape.
I have a Chinese flap (bought together with the phone) case with a hole for the speaker as well and another hole to see whoever is calling without opening up the flap, but it becomes really thick due to the case and the holes make me feel that the screen isnt protected anyway, so why bother.
greetings all! i'm from long beach, ca but my family is from the PI, quezon city. i also own the international note.

thanks...any tutorials on how to start?any how does the usb jig method work on the note btw
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
jig is only useful if you want to reset the "flash" counter on your phone. You see, smart phones like our galaxy note records if you have flashed your phone using methods such as through Odin.
But for the purposes of rooting, using zergExploit rooting method doesn't increase the flash counter. That means you won't be needing the jig. hope this helps

Pinoy from NYC here.
My international GNote is also rooted and evaluated the MIDNOTE 2.0 (ICS LP1 and ITALIAN QUALITY) Rom. ICS really flows smooth on the GNote. I really like it with all the new features and functionalities.
The main issue I have is the Straight Talk data service I am using does not work with the XXLP1 radio modem used with Chinese leaked ICS rom.
I know this because when I revert back to my GB Rocket v22 rom, it uses the XXLA4 modem radio and Straight Talk data service work with 2-5Mbps download speeds as opposed to a consistent 9kbps DL with the ICS LP1 radio. Yes, 9kbps!! WTH!!
Right now, this ICS bandwagon is still new so I will have to revisit this rom along with other roms that can work with the Straight Talk service.
I am curious what carrier service are you using with your GNote in California and your data DL speeds?

i was thinking of doing a cf root flash with cwm then using the jig to reset the counter...comparing methods for the s2 and the note, i guess the note still had the ability for zergrush exploit (which i never used before)...i cant (or am lazy) find any bootloaders or new fw with bootloads with are reset-able using a jig...anyways i found a link here for that but i have to flash a zip just to use the jig...a tad complicated

Ok,
I am planning to get a S5 prime. It is a monster,I really want it.(No I don't have the money to get an NOTE 4 and it is very big) ok anyways. Is it actually a good idea? I mean I really very happy with all the reviews it has but I am only upset that I doesn't have and Coustom ROMS(Only 1) so if in future it doesn't get updated by Samsung I won't have any option to upgrade it.I really want to know, Is anybody developing any roms or Will XDA have a sub category for it?
So you are buying a phone based on what XDA might be doing? LOL dude, just get a phone that does what you need, or get a Nexus if you want to mod like crazy.

By prime do you mean the Korean model or the in between which has the 805 CPU but 1080p screen? (901 I think)
Korean model doesn't have much development, but there is some hope. Check the last two pages of the topic - http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/sm-g906s-k-l-owner-thread-t2807639
Hardware wise it's a great phone which was the best of 2014, and will still hold it's own in 2015 with 3GB of ram and quad-hd.

No chance. Closed source SOC. Small possibility of an unofficial one being released that will boot and be usable but you have two hopes of it ever being stable.

Just to ask, why would you buy a Samsung phone based on an Exynos chip set if CM is important to you? Possibly the worst phone SOC you can buy under those circumstances.

I strongly agree with your point but since the s7 edge has been sold in the 30 million mark i thought too myself there has to be a cm for this phone since its so freakin awesome! I traded my nexus 4 to the nexus 5 than moved to 1+1 then for the almighty nexus 6 (yes im a flashaholic) but eventually for some stupid reason i sold it and bought the s7 edge because of the better screen camera and popularity and now im thinking of selling because it has no aosp or cm roms..... i mean seriously this phone is a beast of a beast but slowly slowly im starting to realize maybe having so much custom roms is a better choice.... Thats my opinion tbh
Unfortunately only Exynos 4 family have true open libraries, also 5 series has some libraries but i've never heard about 7 and 8 series have any libraries, and without Samsung sources, it's somethink like impossible. Read further here:

http://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-exynos-and-aosp-explained-a-story-of-betrayal/
Samsung or most oem's don't give a **** about open-source that why you get skins on phones and not stock they want you running their services etc if you care for development I suggest getting a Nexus/Pixel only
Thanks every one :'(

It's a problem for samsung?
I remember when i bought the Galaxy S3..OMG so many roms?
But now...When samsung want to abandon the S7..we don't have rom custom for solve the problem
We want it but seems impossible...
May be samsung wants their consumer to be stock or something. what ever it is, so disappointed :'-(

Even if a usable CM build did appear, the use of it would take away a lot of the features that make this a premium phone in the first place. For a start I can guarantee you the camera quality will be dire in comparison. And on a phone with a camera this good, that would be ridiculous. Its one of the main reasons I bought it. Then you will lose the Edge features.
Nah, I'll stick with Touchwiz thanks. Besides, it's far better than it used to be, it's no longer a chore.

Shame about the closed source for the samsung SOC. I think this is where the qualcomm soc variant lucked out a bit.
There is some work being done at the moment to get it to boot correctly on the qualcomm side, but everything else is pretty much there. Once that problem is solved, its pretty easy since a lot of qualcomm based devices can already run cm13/14 so porting it to the s7/s7e qualcomm would be relatively easy of a task.

Yes, I do. And the camera is compromised because Samsung's TW framework is required for it to work optimally. You will get basic image quality and features under CM but it won't be anything like approaching what you get under TW and the stock camera app. This was the case under older phones like the Note 3 (I used Temasek's CM builds on that) and it will be even more prevelant on superior camera hardware like this. The gains CM/AOSP offer simply don't outweigh the disadvantages for me.

It is, i have been waiting for Dual Patcher to bring S7 Edge support.
I was going to consider having a play with CM build as an additional ROM.
I enjoyed it on my Note 3 switching between the two, So i may have a dip in the source thats already been worked on next early next year

yes indeed (new option 2k / 1080p).. but I thought you guys already knew that? about the long awaited v7.2A there is almost nothing news on it.. Meizu is as good as dead if we compare his fw support & developments in comparison with other Chinese foon devices.. really pity.
I am going to sell it and instead of buying Mi7pro.

Hi,
A lot...
x8 from meizu you say.. Really?
for the learned among us, never buy a meizu foon once again in your entire life,
I had already made that "stupid" mistake in 2017 and meanwhile I learned already a lot from that mistake!
meizu is just a scam company, they don't make or let no custom rom run on it and also they given the opportunity not even to the guys to let them make one custom rom for such a good (same as s7) foon..
them fw update support is zero,zero.. their goal is give us your money and run far away and never expected any real fw support from us for the phone you just bought it from us back.. we're just scammers under the name Meizu.
If.. and only if, if I'm gonna be crazy I would buy some foon from them (meizu) again but that will be in the years 3333!
Ps: I really hoped that I would receive a decent fw support from them as usually for at least 5 years, that's why I sold my old note4 in 2017, I am not such a guy who buys a new phone every month / year!

Something you said are true by the way. But i think flyme os is the main reason behind your views. The hardware they provide is so good enough and strong when compared to other phones in market. Yeah x8 from meizu is now cost same as p6p.But for me i can't buy it since here in India duty comes 41.2% of product actual price.

Hi,
believe me bih.. kaise haal... theek hai? yah.. i'm from the time before Sangam.. the real and only legend R-Kapoor = Her dil jo pyar karega, dost-dost + Joker, (no.. no, i'm not from ind..!) I never wrote anything out of my thumb, I had and have seen and seen a lot, the phone itself is very good (super sharp display and fast too!) but that fw fly -far away from- me! is worthless really nothing useful in it, men had to install google by himself again and again and the language too (if you use the A version) with help of that language apk, while other chinese phones are standard with google submitted, all in all, I'm not going to buy meizu again.. meizu is too much hassle for me.
मैं आपको मेरी शाम को बहुत बहुत शुभकामनाएं देता हूं dost.
