My i9505 originally had I9505XXUFNB8 BTU firmware on it and was rooted using Chainfire's Auto Root.
The phone kept asking me to update the firmware so I decided to flash the stock firmware back on it using ODIN so that I could do so (I have read that you should never update via OTA if rooted).
When I flashed it using ODIN, upon boot up, the phone said that "Unfortunately, Touchwiz Home has stopped." I press OK but then I get another error message this time for Google Play Music (infinite loop).
I keep toggling between these two error messages, however they wouldn't go away.
If I press the lock screen button, I can see the welcome message, the status bar etc. But soon as I swipe, the above error messages appear.
If I receive a phone call, the phone rings and goes to the answer / reject screen but I can't accept the call as the error message is in the way.
The last resort I tried was to factory reset it via the stock recovery options boot menu, but to no avail.
I have flashed a new version of the ROM, I9505XXUFNB9.
This time, upon the first setup screen where it asks for the region and language after around 15 seconds a message appeared saying "unfortunately, Google+ has stopped."
I press OK on this dialogue box, then I get another error "unfortunately, Google Play Music has stopped."
Then after pressing OK on this one, I get the Google+ one in a loop.
Please help me as now I can't use the phone at all as I can't set it up.

When you got problems you can't solve:
Make backups and do a factory reset. 9/10 times it it solved then.

hi everyone. I've ruined my phone by restoring a backup and the phone kept saying "unfortunately process Phone has stopped" - "unfortunately process com.android.phone has stopped" - "unfortunately process contact storage" has stopped' and many more... it shows status bar and NAV-buttons and connects to the network for 0.2 seconds and instantly disconnects and then it happens again. i don't even get to go to the home screen. i tried factory reset but didn't work, Tried flashable zips of stock rom but nothing changed, flashing a clean stock KDZ won't even work(even CSE flash mode), my phone doesn't go to recovery mode(TWRP or Stock) either. what i think the problem originates from is a couple of files in the data partition that are still left over or some integrated updates to the system... or maybe the partitions are harmed
one thing that you might wanna know is that every time i re-flash a KDZ and it boots up, it shows the 'android is upgrading' - 'optimizing app X of Y' page, though it shouldn't. and after showing the massages of ' ... process has stopped' after a couple of minutes it restarts and it goes over the process again....
I've un-destroyed my phone a lot of time but this is different, it's like the flashing and restoring doesn't actually do anything and just moves a progress bar but doesn't do anything, I'm on stock recovery and stock rom(which doesn't boot or go to the recovery mode). PLEASE HELP ME. My phone is n a dramatic situation :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:
Is there any way to modify partitions from download mode?????
Anyone ?????? Please help... I have serious problem, my phone is dead
My phone notified me when i got home that i had a system update (Lollipop 5.1) So i downloaded it and proceeded with the installation. However when the phone rebooted itself, it showed i had no service and a error message popped up. "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" and gave me the option to close or send error report. I've tried pressing both options and it pops right back up. I am unable to get into any setting/apps due to this error message. Please Help!
Hello! I had the same problem with my blu vivo air. I made a factory data reset and the error disappeared! good luck!
I have a stock moto x play whose hardware sku is XT1564. It's on android ver 5.1.1 and system version is 23.21.25.lux_lra.en.US
I have not performed any soft mods or alterations, be it root or bl unlocking.
The only thing that I would think is different than normal is that the phone is encrypted, so it asks for password whenever it boots up.
I got a notification to update to 24.74.5.en.US a few days ago and decided to try doing it today.
It downloads the update fine and when I press on the notification for it to start the update process where it says it needs to perform a reboot to update it goes into a "phone will reboot in 10 seconds" screen and when countdown finished it shows the "shutting down..." popup that appreas when you try to shutdown the phone.
Then the phone stays with that popup until it finally shutsdown like 4 minutes later on what appears to be a hard shutdown because it doesn't reboot. I have to manually power it on and then the phone starts up normally asks me for my password and about a minute after android fully loads the phone tries to shutdown again without any input. And then it just keeps doing that until I boot the phone into fastboot and try to get it to bootloader, where it shows the dead android logo with a red yield sign and promptly shutsdown. Then when I start the phone normally it shows an "update unsuccessful" screen.
Anyone have any idea what might be the problem?
I've been thinking it might be the encryption but IDK. Also I've checked the thread with the firmware versions and couldn't find mine there. Is there a way I could dump mine for backup in case I **** something up trying to get OTA to work.(without unlocking bootloader and rooting, of course)
Now the update has stopped appearing and I can't get it to recognize there being an update for this device.
Fudge!
Hi to everyone and thank you in advance for your time and expertise.
When I press the "HOME" button at the centre I get this error: unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped (clock is off by 12 hours, too). The error does not appear in other circumstances.
Following advice on XDA I rebooted in recovery and I did a cache wipe/format.
The phone got stuck (2 hours) on formatting cache.
I removed the battery and restarted but when I press the "HOME" button the error "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped" was still present.
I rebooted in recovery, again, but found that I had a new error: "cannot mount(open) /cache/recovery"
I followed yet another thread on XDA ("cannot mount(open) /cache/recovery"), rebooted in recovery, again, but this time I wiped the dalvik cache.
I rebooted but when I pressed the "HOME" button, again, the error "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped" was still present.
I rebooted in recovery again (this time there was no error "cannot mount(open) /cache/recovery") and I wiped/formatted the cache.
This time the phone did not get stuck and formatting of cache completed succesfully.
When I rebooted I got the message "Android is upgrading" and a list of 270 apps were "upgrading".
When the phone restarted and I pressed the "HOME" button, the error "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped" was still present.
Please note that if I do not press the centre "HOME" button, the error does not appear.
Can anyone please help me resolve the Error: unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped"? I do not want to format to factory setting. The phone was rooted by a friend 3 years ago and he now left the country and I am completely ignorant about android in general and rooting etc... so I am afraid to format to factory settings and, please, use simple step by step instructions with easy language...
Again, thank you in advance for your time/expertise.

Edit 1
After posting this help request, I continued to search and I found this: http://android.stackexchange.com/que...s-stopped-on-g. I uninstalled Google App updates, I rebooted the phone, pressed the centre "HOME" button and the error did not come up. I then rebooted the phone again, and this time the phone started to update Google Services and Google automatically. I then pressed the centre "HOME" button, again, to check and, again, everything worked fine. I decided to try to actually used google (search), and this time the error came back, once more.
So it seems that the problem is connected to using Google after the upadetes. Any ideas how to fix the error?

Edit 2
Temporarily, I disabled < Google Apps > update and this fixed the problem but, of course this is not a permanent solution and I need to fix Android 4.4.2 so that it will not give me that error if I update < Google Apps >.
"com.android.phone has stopped" error message during setup after flashing lineage
I have a Galaxy S4 i337 on 4.2.2 stock touch wiz. I flashed Lineage 14.1 jftlexxx to play around with it. I didn't do Gapps because I forgot. Everything goes fine, Lineage boots up. I restore my backup, again all goes well. I then decided to go back to Lineage, so I flash it, everything seems fine until the reboot. This time the phone hangs at the loading screen, the one that comes after the S4 splash. When I restart the phone it can get past the loading screen into the setup. However during the setup an error keeps popping up. The error is
"com.android.phone has stopped". If you close the error message box it just appears again and again. Even if you manage to get past the setup, you can't use the phone. You just see the wallpaper and nothing else, while the error message is still popping up.
I believe the ROM is too new for the bootloader on the phone.
