I recently received the ota 4.3 update for my at&t gs4, but I've been dying to try cyanogen mod on my phone or at least be able to remove a little bloatware. Could anyone point me to a tutorial somewhere to root this thing if it's possible yet? I do have a little experience with flashing roms and rooting with my old samsung replenish, but only with odin... thanks.
-EDIT Also is kingo really malware like many people on xda say? And does kingo work with the new MJ9 build for AT&T's S4?
If you have a little experience flashing Roms than you'll be experienced in the art of Google search. There are many threads about this already
Use this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531704
Works the same for att even though its for verizon. Same root method but beware it could add malicious stuff to your phone and computer. Do a little researching first before you do anything. Good luck

And even when your rooted there is still no custom recovery for 4.3...so no rom flashes are possible

Thanks for the link to the tutorial. I've been looking stuff up about vroot and apparently it contains some sort of trojan... I also read a comment on YouTube where someone with the at&t MJ9 build had success with it but what are the risks other than bricking?
Please send me rooting link for Verizon Samsung galaxy note 3 that is the most current update. I having bad luck finding one. I'm on the stock jelly bean 4.3 waiting on dumb verizon to release the 4.4 kit katt.i can no longer wait so I want to root
Use kingo.

After rooting, install hashcode's SafeStrap (in android development section). Then you'll be able to install any TouchWiz based ROM (Verizon).

Use this link and it will tell you everything you need to know to root the verizon. and load custom roms. It is what i followed.
However if you have any troubles with kingo not rooting your phone, then try Kingo 1.1.6 version. Look at My sig down below at exactly what i did.
Need to get my AT&T Galaxy S4 back to factory rom. I'm getting rid of it and need it back, It was 4.4.2 I was rooting it for straight talk but figured out I didn't need to and gave up because I couldn't get a signal even though I was suppose to have coverage and Straight talk is giving me the run around. I also can't get my wifi to work without universal init.d ...

Safestrap.
Ok, I'm sorry, I'm with you now. After flashing a rom you need to flash the nc1 module to get Wi-Fi working. See the third post of this, the first spoiler.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53758227 Download the nc1 module and flash that in safestrap
