How to root Lenovo A3500? - Lenovo A3500 Questions & Answers

Hi, I need to root the device mentioned in this thread's title, but I can't find any way to do that. Model: A3500-H, Android version: 4.4.2. Is there any way to root this little fellow? I do REALLY need this.

Give this a try http://androidxda.com/download-root-genius
Worked for me - takes only 5 to 10 minutes.

I tried it and it gets stuck at about 80% telling me the rooting process failed.

Whoever gives me working method to root this tablet (3G version) on 4.4.2, will get $10 from me via PayPal. Anyone, please?

Has someone found a way to root the a3500?

[Q] build number

May be a silly question but I was going to root my s4 until I noticed that the build number is JDQ39.I9505 XXUAMDI
All the searches I have done have show root directions for JDQ39.I9505 XXUAMDM
Am I safe to root using S/W for JDQ39.I9505 XXUAMDM
Cheers
Hi, I have exactly same problem. Any guide available anywhere about unlocking XXUAMDI? I spend an hour googling with no luck.

You guys can just root with CF-Auto Root from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219803. Easy as cake. Read the OP well though.

[Q] Problems after rooting I337UCUFNI1

After rooting I337UCUFNI1, my S4 randomly shows up an error message:
"unable to detect SIM card".
The frequency is at least once per day.
So I brought my phone back to ATT warranty department.
They flashed a stock 4.4.2 ROM.
Then this problem never happens again..
Not sure if that is about the kernel flash thing or not.
How did you root that build number? I was rooted then my phone done an ota update and now towel root doesn't work anymore. So far I don't see anyway to do it. Please let me know what you used . Thanks

Root on 4.4.4 Kitkat

So in the Note 4 Dev page "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60610290&postcount=173" they have achieved root on KK (4.4.4) by using King Root. Unfortunately due to the status of the locked boot loader on the Note 4, it is only temp and will unroot the phone after a reboot. Has anyone with a Note 3 tried using King Root yet? And if so, do you only have temp root like the N4?
King Root works on generic 32 bit phones. Note 3 is a 32-bit phone
Instructions w/APK from another post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60612907&postcount=183
It failed on 4.4.4 NK1.
After the reboot, the app ran again automatically but failed again.
Now I'm uninstalling the app.

I have been reading up on the Note 4 forum on Xda and people are saying that it may take couple tries before root access is granted. *Must be online for the app to work, as it connects to their servers to see what exploits can be used to root the phone.
I m on 4.4.4 NJ6, i tried to root with kingroot but it seens that doesn't work
can also confirm that nk1 it did not work. I've even gone as far as trying the pingpong root and the root that the xperia recently got. We are all desperate.
Have any of you guys try opening king user after using kingroot and grant root permissions to something like root checker or does the app just fail while trying to obtain root?

I've tried using root checker after multiple root attempts and reboots and it always fails to verify.
I've tried King Root v4.1. Didn't work on NK1.

I can second that.
I can third that
kingroot wasn't able to root it in either attempt I made, 4.4.4 or 5.0 . I tried with both the android apk and the pc version. Its possible that it requires multiple attempts (its all in chinese so who knows what exploits it is trying)
I just got a replacement device and it came with 4.4.4 so I am hoping to find something to root. there doesn't seem to be anything that works yet.

Thanks for the update on your attempts, ACalcutt.
That's right, it is in Chinese. Who here can read it? I, for one, am curious to learn which exploits it is attempting.
Any updates on this? I have an opportunity to get a Note 3 with NJ6 on it for free from a friend... will Kingroot work? I've kept my finger on the pulse of the Note 4 forums, and I'd do kingroot and then supersume, if it would work.
Thanks!

Wanting to ROOT my S5. SM-S902L 4.4.2

I have the Straight Talk Galaxy S5 (posting it here because I couldn't find a straight talk version listed and it runs on the Verizon Network)
I have been trying to root it for ages now and everything I have tried has failed. KingoRoot fails Towelroot fails.
I even tried modstrings on towelroot and keeps saying phone is not supported.
Does anybody know what I can do?

You have helped but trying to find what download to use on cf autoroot. I cannot find my model number on the list.
SM-S902L Seems to either be too new or so obscure that no root tools has the ability to root it. Should I try and contact the developer of cf-autoroot? I tried contacting geohot in regards to towelroot being unable to even do the temporary root on my model.
So if anybody has any idea which model is close enough to work with cf-autoroot I would be eternally grateful.
This thread has rooting info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...straight-talk-variant-sm-s902l-t3162340/page2
Its really easy, but you have to have some base knowledge.
I'm in the same boat YankeeDan
I too am looking for a safe way to root into my device without bricking it! cf autoroot seems like a promising option but as you stated, there is currently no build listed for model # SM-S902L. I cant stand being stuck with Android 4.4.2 and not being able to upgrade so please post back here if you ever find a way to successfully root this device.
Thanks!
Same goes with you, if you find something please let me know.
s902l root check out my xda page

Root for SM-t377a (ATT Galaxy Tab-E)

Is there a way to root the galaxy tab E that comes from AT&T? I've found a TWRP image for the SM-T377P version but nothing for SM-T377A which is what I have. I was thinking they might be cross compatible but if they were, I'm sure TWRP would have listed it on their site.
The option to OEM unlock is in the dev settings list so I'm thinking I can flash the recovery but I'm not sure on that.

Kingroot can't root my Galaxy Tab SM-T377A runnning 6..0.1 Marsmallow, I just want to uninstall or freeze those AT&T bloatware but I guess I have to wait coz I can't return it anymore...Thanks ..
Worst tablet ever. Att can't even get their software updates right. I can't use this as a phone because the stupid number sync software keep giving an error and no one at att knows how to fix it. I've tried different dialers and freezing them. Nothing works. Now I have com.android.phone is not responding and their is no firmware download anywhere to fix it. Now I have to factory reset the whole damn tablet lol. I'm going to sell the and get a Sprint unlocked version. What a shame. This tablet had potential too

You can Google "replace Kingroot with supersu". There is a 4 step method for replacing the temp Kingroot with chainfires SuperSu. Even if bootloader is locked. Just found one of these in Facebook marketplace for $50.

I think this tablet sucks, too. AT&T hoodwinked me into getting this thing, and now I'm stuck with it for 2 years. It's slow and choppy--I'd rather have an iPad. My "Next" contract is just about up, and I can't wait to dump their ass for another carrier.
Agree. Hoodwink is exactly what they did. This tablet is SLOW and the bloatware is chewing up RAM. I'm about to dump it for something else. Was hoping to be able to root it so I could kill off some of the bloat, but no joy....

I knew I should have checked here first... but at least I can return it... I figured a device of its age would for sure have custom roms and root. Stupid at&t! Guess I'm back on the search for a LTE tablet that works on at&t for under $300
Hi, recently I bought a cheap AT&T Tab E. It has only 4GB internal storage instead of 16, weird? The tab is almost useless because it has almost no space for new files/apps. Anyone knows what's wrong with the tab? Thanks

Totally new to rooting in general, and researching isn't going well as I don't have any context/experience yet...and the vocabulary is new. I have (literally just bought a few days ago) this version of the Tab E...and I'm trying to root it so I can use it more effectively as a head unit in my 03 F150. I'm finding out I bought the wrong unit to do this reasonably easily.
Would you mind posting a quick walkthrough of how this works? Install KingRoot and then replace it with Supersu to get the tablet permarooted?
Thanks!

Not a big fan of youtube instructional videos, first one available, not sure if its good........
https://www.google.com/search?q=rep...0j7&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#kpvalbx=1
This is a guide with a one-click .bat file to supposedly do this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/a310/general/how-to-remove-replace-kingroot-kinguser-t3308989
Directions for manual replacement:
https://missingtricks.net/replace-kingroot-kinguser-with-supersu-superuser-android-guide/
Remember, this is for you replacing "TEMP ROOT", not when a device is permanently rooted! This means being in the position of Kingroot barely getting temporary root that will be lost when device is rebooted!!! It involves using Flashify (by Chainfire as well) and authorizing it's root ability to flash.
As in every OP on XDA, do so at "YOUR OWN RISK".........
