Stereo Mod XZ migrated to Theme & App Section - Xperia Z General

Migrated to Theme and App Section
MODERATOR PLEASE MOVE THIS TO THEME AND APP THREAD!
Based on dontbelieve mod from Z1, I tried to modify XZ snd_soc_msm files so that they will play Speaker and ear peice at the same time like in Z1.
What will this do?
Archieve real Stereo and surround sound effect from both left and right channels by using ear peice as additional speaker.
To test out rotate the device to landscape and try some stereo video or music.
Try this:
-Left/Right Stereo Audio/Visual Test.: http://youtu.be/dvqbq_0jZ_U
- Dolby Digital - HD Surround Sound Test: http://youtu.be/PvnlpPWAcZc
Requirement:
-Stock or Stock Base 4.4.2 rom
-Rooted
Installation:
-Backup original file in case you wanna revert back
-Download the file StereoMod XZ.zip
-Flash through recovery and reboot
Manual Installation
-Unzip the package
-Copy snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 from the package
-Replace this file in to /system/etc/snd_soc_msm folder
-Set permission -rw-r--r--(644).
Uninstall
-Flash StereoMod XZ-Revert.zip and reboot
I don't have the device, so you tell me whether to increase earpiece volume or speaker volume!
I am not responsible for any damage.

I didn't have the device, but i know that the Earpiece can't produce loud sound like the main speaker. What i am trying to do is to balance both speakers. So let me know if i have to increase or decrease the main speaker or the Earpiece so that it will be balance and free of distortion!

Thanks for the work
It is working left and right channels separating in speaker also in earpiece. But while making phone calls only earpiece is activated but not speaker, there is no sound at all while making calls both inbound and outbound calls, even when speaker mode activated while in calls. And the sound is bit low.Anyways thanks and appreciate your work

Now the speaker volume is good I think but I think the earpiece can be increased a little bit more.
I test it with the dolby HD video from OP and I close speaker with my finger and listen closely to earpiece

Or press UP on the volume button?
(Hint, it's on the right hand side between the L & R shoulder buttons)
Make sure you press the right way or you'll make the volume incredibly low!
Thaks guys but I know how to manually turn the volume up. My fone is preser with a limit to as high to volume can go. Im trying to bypass that limit.
Sent from my R800x using XDA Premium App
Take a cover meant for a bigger battery and put an amp in there picking up the signals for your speakers and sending them amplified to your speaker. If you need a starting direction, look for cmoy amps.
Make sure the you have the media volume up to. Other then that idk what to tell you. I think the play is the loadest phone I've had. If its a ringtone that you think is quiet. I can take your ringtone and make it much loader using audacity.
I dont think the Play is that loud either, the quality of the sound is good, due to the stereo speakers.. But I would also like a way to increase the limit of the maximum volume if there is a way

Yeah, it is a phone, but Sony you think it would be cool if it could be used as a stereo too?
Besides, my previous phone, Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, was much louder than the Play. The Play just isnt as loud as you think

It's called headphones
Heck my old env was louder. I the alarm doesn't wake me up and i never hear txt or calls. I work in a loud place and all mh other phones i could hear 70% of the time. Great quality low sound

The maximum volume level is set for a reason.
Any louder & the speakers would distort.
I think in call loudspeaker volume could be much higher.

iPhone headset on gs3

My wife called me saying her iPhone headset doesn't work on her new gs3. I haven't had a chance to see her yet. Anyone know if this is true?
More than likely it is. Most iPhone headsets don't work. She doesn't like the included headphones with the gs3?

They are in ear noise cancelling and not safe to use while driving and uncomfortable fit for her ear. The stock iPhone ones are great or she just got used to them. She had the evo4g and they worked great so I know it's ot a droid thing

Aren't ANY headphones in your ear while driving not safe?
There are apparently two kind of wiring in the head phones. All headphone with mic connectors have four terminals, however the order they are wired up is different.
I know this for a fact because my captivate headsets did not work on my Sony X10.
In fact if you try to press and hold the accept call button on the headset while playing music you will realize that they quality of music suddenly improves.
Solution either get some different headset or get http://www.meelec.com/MEE_TRRS_Adapter_for_P_Version_Headphones_p/adptr-trrs-35.htm
The above product worked well from captivate => X10. I probably would in your case too

Made Xperia Z damn loud with some mods

Hi,
Yesterday my vibrator broke on my phone and this made me to open the phone for the second time. I took off the backglass and tried to fix it but had no succes. But since I really don't put my phone in water I decided to expiriment with stuff.
I always wanted make my xperia Z louder so I installed zero's puresound mod but it was still not loud enough, so I took off the sponge/rubber and the loudspeakers glass. I can't believe that this phone is so loud now atm. All I ever wanted from this phone just with one easy mod done.
If your warranty is void and don't care about the waterproofness you can also do this. Since I'm going to take my phone apart again I will take some pictures.
I'm not going to shower and take phonecalls anyway, before this I never had a waterproof phone so I can live with that.

About 30 to 60 seconds. I think that the glue lacks quality since it's easy to take it off. The glue used on the battery is made of better quality. Could be because the glue on the battery is thicker

We can do it together.
Download sound meter from the market and then play one of the sony ringtones and tell me which one by name. I'll do the same and we'll both see by decibels how louder your speaker is compared to my stock one.

Please can someone check this?

Hi folks,
Just got my new G2 today. I noticed that when playing music sound is only coming from the bottom right speaker grille. If I cover this there's no sound. Can someone check theirs and confirm if this is normal? Is the left speaker grille just a dummy then? Thanks!

Same here and I have the AT&T variant. The right side is the only side that sound comes out of. I'm thinking the left 'speaker' is the Microphone. Just like on my iPhone 4 there were two speakers, but one of them was a Microphone and the other was the actual speaker.

i have the Verizon variant, i would assume they are the same. the sound only comes from one side mainly.
Thanks for that richiev. I suspected that was the case as it certainly seems loud enough and it would be odd to place stereo speakers so close together. Cheers for confirming it for me!

They all only have one speaker. Verizon chose not to give it the stealth look.
One strange thing I have found is if I'm playing music with media volume set to full, if I put ringer volume to silent it lowers the music volume, ,,, or is it just me?

That could wreck your speakers or headset entirely, so I would be very cautious.
I personally think the G6 has pretty loud speaker audio, and if that's not enough, get a Bluetooth speaker. You don't want to render your phone's speakers useless by overblowing them.
