Hi mate ,
How did this start?
Booting into recovery usually means a problems in OS or softbrick

Yes I did stock and pit and still reboots into recovery and regarding the recovery I have the CWM_6.0.4.7_Touch_GT-I9505 .
One thing I found out is that the volume up is not working while I'm in recovery , I don't know if this has to do with the issue .
thanks again for replying

Mate i am lost ...
Pit should had formatted everything so no leftover files anywhere , stock rom.......do not know what else to do , i will keep an eye on it , if i find out any thing i will let you know
Just in case did you tried a differente recovery ......

It's impossible if the flash with Odin was succesfull that you still have a custom recovery.
I think your volume up key is stuck.
Can you enter download mode?

When i have an error like this.
In odin:-
1) Download stock rom, also check the md5 to make sure its not corrupted!
2) Select NAND ERASE ALL
3) Select your partition table, and be sure its the right one
4) flash!!!!
5) If this problem continues, go to recovery and format /data and /cache
Good luck sir!

[Q] Recovery Mode, Where do I go from here?

So the situation is... I was trying to remove the shutter sound from my camera, and so I followed some steps from a guide, and went to rename the files in system/media/ui, and renamed 2 camera files and added .off at the end, I then rebooted my phone.... and now I'm in recovery mode.
Information: phone rooted, don't have CWM, downloaded titaniumbackup but never used. What are my options from here? Is there anyway to get access back to those files n rename them back? Is my only option factory reset? :/
Thanks ahead.

I held power, and back to recovery mode. I think its the stock recovery. Just has
Android system recovery (3e) then the options. My device was fine, until I edited those 2 files in the system folders.

[Q] Booting Problem

Hey Guys,
i have a problem with flashing custom recovery on my I9505(jfltexx).
When i flash "DBT-I9505XXUBMEA-20130601103235" via Odin and in addition the "CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505" my phone boots up, most of the time but not all the time. Now when i try to flash custom Recovery via Odin, my phone stucks at the Samsung Galaxy Logo and it wont continue. Even if i enter the standard recovery from Goomanager and i select "reboot system now" it stucks on the Logo!
Any Help?
Thanks in Advance

U can try going to Stock or The recovery u installed which ever u are able to open
Just wipe cache & reboot
It should work well if this does not work
Flash a pre rooted firmware

Ok now i get it as per what i see i can still get your device back to normal but myte take multiple try rest assured it will work
1st flash a stock firmware again (not rooted pure stock) this time using pit file along with firmware
and while flashing the firmware using odin and pit do check re-partition also
Note with out pit file do not check the re-partition box
and once the flashing is done device should boot if its not booting
go to stock recovery like how i told u earlier and do factory reset and wipe cache
and reboot
and tell me the status.. all the best
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477&highlight=stock+firmware get pit file/ stock firmware from here for ur variant

In Odin
PDA - u should select firmware stock one
PIT - select pit file
Re- partition should be check follow the image and flash
If Re-Partition is checked u must have pit file also do not forget that else u myte brick ur device

Based on what you said, it seem like you still have all the partitions intact. Just that they are empty right now.
Did you do a full backup before all this problem happen? Or did you do a custom backup?
Are your backups stored in external memory and is a full backup? If so, try using custom recovery to restore your backup?

Chill. Your phone is definitely not bricked. I encountered your problem before when i was experimenting with something.
- Right now, boot to whatever recovery that you have. Try to wipe cache, dalvik, and any other partition if possible.
- After that, boot to download mode and try to flash STOCK rom using odin. Check that flash was success.
- Try to boot your phone and report here on what happens.
Edit: You might want to consider restarting your computer and changing usb port. "Faulty" Usb port will affect the flashing part.

Behave your speech smart guy, they are trying to help!
general rule on how to fix a bootloop:
1- Wipe data and cache. If not,
2- Restore a nandroid backup if available. If not,
3- Flash stock firmware, If not,
4- Flash stock firmware with pit file (you can try pit file alone).

What happens when you boot to download mode then reboot from there? Will it break the boot loop? CWM is wonky with this phone btw, you should be using TWRP. Or you can revert back to stock and redo the phone, or maybe push a new recovery image via adb and see if that corrects the issue.

you can either format data in cwm or in stock recovery format data/reset
or if that doesnt sort the boot loop quickest way to solve it is just to flash stock rom via odin
Remember next time before you do anything like flashing a mod or trying out something different to always make a nandroid backup in cwm - this way if you get into a boot loop or want to revert what you have done you just have to restore your nandroid backup
anyway stock rom firmware is found on my thread below

follow the instructions fully on my thread
you need to install the usb drivers
you need to put your phone into download mode (vol down home button power button)
cwm is not required and not used to flash stock rom via odin - you must be in download mode NOT recovery mode

Hi.
I assume you are root, first thing you have to do after you are root is to install a Custom recovery , i use Philz touch here you can find the latest
https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9500/
You have two options zip to flash from a recovery ( if you have a custom recovery installed) or tar.md5 to flash from Odin ( first time install)
How to install
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39433857&postcount=4
After you install your recovery successfully , reboot , download the custom rom again place it in the external SD , reboot to recovery , do a factory reset ( install new rom option) flash rom.
footer error when installing from SDcard
Hi
I have the same issue with every zip I want to install.
Today I swapped the sd card but it still gives the error.
I formatted sdcard with phone - no luck
swapped sdcard - no luck
copied zip files with other laptop - no luck
copied the file on sdcard when it was in samsung tablet, then put sdcard in S4 - no luck
tried with ClockworkRecovery (with signature check disabled) but no luck.
Is my S4 making these files corrupt or what is the problem?
Did you find the solution already?
Cheers
zjo
