Hello!
I'm just wondering If anyone has tried the octacore version of the S4 on Mobilicity or Wind mobile (aws 1700/2100 bands)? I'm currently in Asia, Anne think it'd be super cool to pick up one of the international octacore versions here, but since my preferred carrier back home (in Canada) is Mobilicity, I just wanna make sure it'll work first. I've tried googling to see if anyone has tried it before, but I wasn't able to find anything.
If anyone has tried it, or knows if it'll work, I'd really appreciate your help!
Thanks so much =)
Manda
i popped in my inactive wind sim and it shows wind home when i search for mobile networks but i am not sure as it was inactive
According to the specs posted at gsmarena (http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9500_galaxy_s4-5125.php), the i9500 doesn't support AWS. You would be stuck with 2G EDGE data

Thank you for your help. Did the roaming icon show up at all? I saw on the wiki that it's not supposed to work.
Can AWS be enabled on s4 i9500 - please help guys.
Hi,
I have a wind sim (Canada), it doesn't work on my S4 i9500 which i bought from UAE. Is there a way AWS frequencies can be enabled on this phone? I am desperately looking for a work around. To me, XDA is my only hope left.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi all.
I originally purchased my Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 in the UK where I was using it on LTE with absolutely no problems.
One thing led to another and I'm now living in Canada, and using my i9505 on the Bell/Virgin network. The phone connects to the 3G network just fine, but does not connect to Bells LTE network here.
Having done some research, I'm led to believe that this is due to the fact that the i9505 does not support the 1700MHz network for LTE, although the similar i337 model does.
I've read a number of topics that state it may/may not be possible to unlock this banding on the i9505, but have not been able to find any conclusive answer on whether it's possible, and if so, how to actually do this.
Any help or suggestions anyone might have would be incredibly appreciated, as I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering this.
Thanks in advance!
Hello All,
I am thinking of buying a bad ESN Galaxy Sprint S5 from US. So, my question is will I be able to use it here in India after unlocking region lock? And secondly will I be able to unlock it using 3rd party website for unlocking cell phone for international use? And if I buy factory unlocked bad ESN Galaxy Sprint S5 will I be able to use it here in India with any GSM networks or not? Because S5 is supported both CDMA and GSM bands so sprint is a CDMA company thus if CDMA is locked through bad ESN if I unlock the GSM for international use I can as far as I read upon different forums. But want expert advice who have tried this
Regards
Hello everyone involved, first of all thanks in advance for your hard work, your sleepless time, and the great things you came up for our phones.
I have the next question.
I live in Colombia, South America, my carrier is Movistar.
They offer 4G LTE here.
I have a i9505, but can't seem to get 4G LTE. They told me the right model for 4G is the 337m, another s4 variant.
Do I have a way to use the i337m modem on my i9505 in order to get 4G reception?
Or will this brick my phone?
Sorry if this is too noob, but I have read that the two phones i9505 and i337m share most of his specifications.
Thanks again.
Eagerly waiting for an answer on this one...
I have a S5 from bluegrass cell , similar to verizon in the central kentucky . I was hoping to find info on how to unlock it to use with straight talk/att. I have read misleading articles on the internet and was hoping to find the answer here. Since the phone is currently a CDMA phone can the ROM be flashed to a ATT Rom and unlocked for use with straight talk?
thanks
