[Photos] M7 Glass removal [50% success] - One (M7) General

Hello, i'm removing glass from my htc one m7.
As there are no threads with such experience, (or i didn't found them) i decided to create my own.
So, by heating up with table lamp and using kitchen & putty knives i've managed to remove ~half of a front glass almost without damage to lcd.
It's hard, but not impossible

Why would you do that!

So, what's the purpose of doing this? Your phone looks a mess now you know that mate?

Certainly won't be following in your footsteps

Instead of replacing the glass you want only the lcd screen? got the spider app before that?

So what is the purpose of your thread? I don't see the interest of creating a new thread to show a broken glass "for fun"
it could be useful if you were replacing the glass and showing how, but destroying a part of a sub assy before replacing it is useless lol
anyway good luck with your screen!

To show, that it's possible to remove glass on htc one and it is not that hard that most people may think.
Process is the same as removing glass from any other phone without air between glass and lcd.
Why destroying? This phone was cracked badly.
Already ordered new gold housing. :good:

lets say the screen got broken, what i know is you cant order just the glass. you still need to order the whole LCD (with the glass) so what is the main purpose of showing that the glass can be removed if that glass is attached to the main lcd? lol

I can order glass with touch screen.
Do a better research before posting something, there are tons of glass on ebay, not talking about ali.

Per schematics I looked at a while ago, and pictures I've seen, I think that the digitizer and the glass are bonded together. He probably just replaced the glass and digitizer at the same time.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
That is not cheap solution digitizer cost money! Why replace it if it works?
This just has to be bullcrap!?

Things are supposed to appear on your phone's screen. If nothing appeared on your screen, that would be a problem.
yeah sorry but i would need a little better understanding of the question to help you out. what appeared on your screen? whats causing you problems?

Yeah, but what looks like WET SPOTS are NOT supposed to be there. Looks like some sort of screen damage. Do those spots go away when the screen changes?
are you talking about those hazy thingies?
Have you exposed your phone to a place with rapid ambient temperature/humidity change? this might be water under the glass?
or it could be a protector screen gone bad?
you need to be more specific otherwise because there seems nothing wrong beside that.

Looks like it might be the screen protector. At least he should hope that it's only the screen protector. If not, hope he has $$$ or $ and a steady hand.

or just try an hairdryer at low temp for a bit
now seriously, if that's just humidity under the glass, leave it off for two days with the battery cover open, best case scenario all of it will be gone without any sigh it was there.
if it is water try opening it up .. and putting it in a bag rice for a day or two ..

Screen Stratch :(

so.. I clean my screen and back every bloody day.. and somehow i have a hairline stratch on the screen -.- any ideas how i can get rid of it
replace the screen
put a screen protecter it will make it unvisible
Go for gadget shields scratch guard or invisible shield..they are the best in the market and available for almost all phones..

lool it will cost me 449 dollars to replace screen :L screen protector hid the stratch.. so much for gorilla glass three.. i dont get how on the test videos they bloody used knifes and **** on the phone and nothing -.- i treat my phone like a god and it got this :L
What most people just don't get is the fact that sand is harder than metal and will scratch gorilla glass.
With every new phone coming onto the market some idi0ts claim that you don't need a screen protector and this is simply NOT true.
The only glass like thing (that I carry around) that I know of which doesn't scratch is the sapphire glass of quality watches.
If they made phone screens of that material then they would crack in no time.....

GG3 has the same scratch resistance as GG2. Also the metal in the knives isnt as hard as glass so they shouldnt scratch it. Why do you think no one does scratch tests by rubbing sand on their phone
lol the screen protector didnt get rid of the scratch it just hid it...
anyways, this is the reason why i bought a bunch of screen protectors. its more scratch resistant but its not like its diamond or something.
if you think you dont need screen protectors, think again

Capacitive icons instead of dashes

Does anyone know more information about this particular oddity? My oneplus 2 has a triangle (left) and square (right) as the capacitive icons instead of dashes.
Tried looking up for images but to no avail.
Mine is the A2001 model (China, 4gb 64gb), and yes custom ROMs and everything works as it should, so it isn't a clone. It being the A2001 model makes even less sense as h2os' back button is the right instead of the left
I'll try to upload some pics when I get home later in the night
this indeed, is peculiar, where did you buy it from ?
awaiting images.
Do you mean on-screen buttons? Or the actual capacitive ones?
Sorry for the late post, and no it isn't the on screen buttons

Anyways does anyone have any info on this? Or if anyone has this too?
I got this from a friend of mine, someone traded it in to his store.
Maybe the Display glas was replaced or there is a tempered glass screen protector on it which has this symbols carved in or something.

As far as I know it's screen wasn't replaced, and I had only just placed the tempered glass a couple weeks ago and it has nothing to do with it.
Did you try reaching out to oneplus or visiting their service center?. May be this was part of initial batch of test phones. Or something like that.
Weird! Hey just curious.... If you use a ROM which allows button swapping, do the symbols swap as well? ...or just the functions?
There's obviously a tempered glass screen protector on top of the original one... remove it to uncover the light source underneath...

The icons don't swap, it's just shaped that way instead of dashes.

I had mentioned it was like that before I placed the tempered glass myself. I'm the one who placed it so I'm positive it wasn't some custom framed glass. I'll post more pics on this, as I could make out the square icon even if it isn't lit up.
Here's some more pictures
P. S Square icon is easier to spot under the right light, not so with the triangle icon
Custom made OP2. Ahh
I ordered a replacement LCD from China and thats also what I got, so im positive your screen has been replaced before.
Hahaha looks like its probably a manufactory bug, they could make the glass by some mistake with this instead the - . If I would be you I would let it as it is is one of a kind. Also it coudl happed like previous post says. The glass was replaced but not by original OnePlus 2 parts.

Xperia Z1 Compact Screen disassembly

Hi everyone
ones, i had a problem with my Z1C, it was water damaged
i replaced some brocken parts
after that my phone started working great
but i notticed that the battery was draning too fast
i replaced it twice!!
but it still drans fast!!!
so i supossed that due to the watter damage there would be a problem with the mother bord that is eating all the battery
so i used a cleaning product for electronic parts
but since i didn't remove the screen and as you may know, the mother bord is attached to the screen
the product did infeltrate bitween the screen and the digitizer
and now the screen is all foggy
do any one have a solution please!!! :'( :'(
( and also the battery draining fast problem is still there!! :'( )
PS : Sorry for my english
I would buy a new display on ebay. It costs almost nothing and it is ridiculously easy to change it yourself if you follow a video guide on youtube.

I recently replaced my screen. It is very easy. Just follow the following guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bz02qEIP3vU, and you can't go wrong.
Just be very careful to position the screen correctly before pushing down on the adhesive. I unfortunately cracked my first screen because I didn't align the screen correctly and it cracked when I was pushing down - the screen can be very delicate. The second screen I applied flawlessly but also with a tempered glass screen protector as I didn't want to risk cracking it again.
I purchased this one: www.ebay.com.au/itm/171772963783. Only $30 US. The tempered glassed screen protector is only like $1.
