Impatient, are we?
There are several ways to do this. It's a common problem as a lot of developers don't use the Android audio focus API in the recommended manner. Or at least a consistent one. And then there is Samsung's love for playing notifications through speakers when you are using headphones...
Better music apps e.g. Poweramp Pro will enable you to do what you want.
Silence your phone (hence silencing notifications) when playing music.

Another way to do this -
Tasker can do anything!
If [specify music app] is running ---> Volume = 0 (or Silent Mode = ON)
exit task ---> Volume = X (where X is your preferred volume; or Silent Mode = OFF)
.

There's is an apk 'don't pause'

Living in Denmark, i have never had a phone before where i couldn't disable the camera shutter sound. My S4 which i purchased from an EU website does not have an option to disable the shutter sound. I understand that i can easily get rid of the sound if rooted, but i was just wondering if the option exists in some existing firmware for another region. Ie. if i flashed the nordic firmware version would i get the option?
I know that i can disable the shutter sound by muting the phone, but it is quite annoying having to mute/unmute all the time.

You are lucky. Muting my phone did not disable the shutter sound, nor does deleting the sound files or installing a third party camera app. Somehow the settings always are overridden. Anybody with a solution? I have a Dutch unbranded 9505.

This is CSC dependent. You can easily edit the CSC files when rooted to enable the option which allows you to turn the shutter sound off. But I guess you're out of luck if you want to keep your phone unrooted.

You mean this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261789 ? I forgot to say I tried that too, but the mentioned file was not there. I looked a little further now and the line appears to be in another file called others.html in the same folder. Changed that and it works. Can't find the line for enabling the camera during call though, but it works anyway now.

Exactly, but it's not explained very well in the thread you're linking. It's others.xml indeed and you have to reboot your phone for it to take effect. But it requires root and OP doesn't seem to be rooted.

Both have a silent feature. And as far as I'm aware, neither requires Root. (Procapture certainly doesn't.)

Not sure if I understand what you're asking but I have a default ringtone which is "over the horizon" and this is not ascending by default. I can go into my settings and select increased ringtone if my device is in my pocket and notice the ringtone does gradually increase if the device is in my pocket or gym bag.
Hope this helps!

Well, with the increased ringtone option selected or not, the ringtone starts at a very low volume and then it comes normal, and there is no option about it... Or is it??

This is default behaviour of samsung ROMs. If you want to disable ascending ringtone you'll have to root and use xposed module/ wanam xposed.

Ah, I understand now! The behavior you are experiencing is default in nature for your ringtone. You can use my suggestion to help increase the ringtone if the device is in your pocket or gym bag but it will start out low and gradually progress. Try to find a new ringtone or install a ringtone which is better and set this as your default ringtone.
If you like the one you have and just wish for it to be louder, you can customize through a root but if you do not wish to do this, check out the following app. I have used this on other devices so am not sure if it's compatible with the SG-N3:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shumoapp.disableincreasingring&hl=en
Hope this helps!

which option from wanam deals with increasing ringer?
edit: found it lol - cheers!!
try this app "HandyPhone" in Google Play store, its better than the app "Disable Increasing Ring"
Open into HandyPhone, then enable ascending ring, set the initial ringing level to "maximum".
Hi all.
I have something strange going on with a phone.
It does not hold on to the default settings i set for apps for apps to open.
Chrome, YouTube app, launcher and some other apps are set to be used as default to be used when needed.
So for instance if i open a YouTube link in chrome, it opens YouTube app because the first time it asked, i set it as default app to open.
Or the launcher. I set Nova launcher as my default launcher. So the device does not ask what launcher to use anymore. Touchwiz or Nova.
The S4 holds on to the settings until the device is reboots.
After reboot all settings are gone and i again have to choose what app i would like to use as default.
I have had different Omega roms installed (about six), switched recoveries but the problem is still current.
I installed the same roms on three S4 phones and two of them always work nicely.
Only the one S4 phone does not hold on the apps i set to open as default. So i dont think its rom related.
The battery of that phone is new. So i don't think it is the battery.
Also the reboot is done normally. So i don't pull the battery.
What could it be why the phone does not hold on to the settings??
Is there some battery on the phone that has to hold on memory when power is off??
I hope to hear from you guys.
Thanks
To bad. No tips or tricks for this problem

You need to be rooted for it to work
Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
Greenify works for non rooted phones as well. Just not automatically, you have to manually hibernate each app, also rehibernate after opening an app. There's a setting on the phone to choose and make it easier to do.
EDIT:.. Settings >accessories >greenify

You don't need root.
You can also use automatic hibernate!!!
With root, you will have more options.
But....
Installing will mute voice feedback in s-voice and your calculator will talk to you on every input
It's a bug.

you can use automatic configuration without using passcode or finger scanner for your lockscreen, once you close your phone it will automatically click the apps you configure without pressing the app.
Thanks. I jave a lockscreen pin because of the exchange email.
Got greenify on my new note 4 rooted but the apps dont show up at greenify to hibernate.. have a s4 and the apps like facebook and so on are there to choose hibernate or not.. but in the note 4 this doesnt happen , can you guys help?
I used greenifly ..but found no difference in battery life .
In fact, I tried it twice as the reviews are excellent.
There's many debates as to whether or not these apps help battery or not.. Some forums claim that it constantly has to work to close and stop apps running ? therefor does more harm than good ..my phone ? is not rooted
In my s4 it does a good work at the battery...but now in my note 4 it doesnt shiw all the apps like facebook and other social battery leechers.. don't know why because there are users that claim that they are using fine and working good with greenify.
