my oppo 5 had a bad accident after which it is still powering up but both screen and digitizer are in small pieces
i don't have anything too important there but i would like to recover some pictures - screen repair from oppo is a far too expensive, plus whole phone is bent so i need it done via 3rd party anyway, i would go that way, but i'm afraid that it might be unreliable after repair so i would rather upgrade to 7a
i tried to do some backup via adb but this device is unauthorised and i can't authorise it as neither lcd nor digitiser is working
if there is anyone that can connect working screen+digitizer (although just screen and otg mouse might be enough) do a backup and upload it for some reasonable fee (plus i don't need broken phone back) please contact me via pm

A copy-paste: You can get a new screen here for $60,- http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-dual-p-2277.html and a nice tutorial that shows how to take your dual apart: http://www.pdacenter.ru/razborka/razbor_htc_touch_dual/
You need only new touchscreen.
It's more cheaper than whole display.
Those are attached to eachother, i guess you can't buy a seperate touchscreen
man send it to HTC for repairs... i have a pharos that had the same problem... took 3 weeks and my touchscreen works again..
you need a 'digitiser' or 'digitizer', it isn't attached to the LCD, it's seperate
try emailing: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/easyworldwidetrading/
Thanks for the replays.
I dunno what kind of magic/bruteforce, that got my dual working again.
But at the moment my touchscreen is working again.
Tho it still looks messed up(The LCD is fine and looks perfect).
And sometime next month i´m buying a Touch Pro.
So until then i don't want to mess whit the phone.
Maybe i´ll send it for repairs(warranty), and see if they will repair it for free.
I got a new digitizer off ebay, and some tools from www.mobilefun.co.uk.
I have just assembled my Niki, and it works.
Thanks so much for the help.
Well my HD2 is now a paper weight not due to a bad flash, but because the touch screen no longer work.
The screen is cracked and a piece of it is missing, I'm not sure if i should order lcd screen, digitizer, or both. I attach a picture of the crack in hoping someone with some knowledge can help me out.
Also does anyone know of a place in Long Beach, CA area that can provide screen/digitizer replacement service at a fairly reasonable price.

Don't know anything about the place just thought I would pass the info.
thanks for the info. I'm going to try to find a local dealer first before i start shipping things out.
That looks like a digitizer problem, does the lcd screen turn on at all?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

Ouch!!!! Dude (or Dudette), need to get a cover for that thing!
Ok, can't help you on spare parts, however, on e-bay and some other android sites, you should be able to find a cheap "bricked tab" (500 or 501, no difference).
When I say bricked, I mean the people who tried installing roms or such, and just couldn't get the tab back running again. Should be able to get one of these pretty cheap (less than $50). And in the forum threads, and You tube, there is info on how to take it apart.
My best guess anyhow.
(sorry about the glass, get a cover next time
Man, do something with that photo, makes me hurt
I have one for sale, you can PM me for details.
A few days ago my phone started acting strange, with the screen completely glitching out on me (see below). Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated TREMENDOUSLY! Thank you guys!

Its definitely a hw problem so either one of the flex cables has become damaged or loose (thats what happens when you use a cheap flex cable like they did), or the gpu has died.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646537 might help.
Edit: Warranty in UK is 2 years for this device, I don't know about the US. Even if its just a years warranty where you live, you might still be within that period. I would personally call up the sony mobile service centre and check. If its out of warranty, then they should atleast give you a price for repair. At the very least, you can compare the cost to local places. Needless to say, cracking it open and attempting to repair it yourself should probably be a last resort.
Still, its in the wrong section.
if you try to relock bootloader using s1tool(the testpoint thing i mean)and send it is sony i guess you still have the warranty...I don't know i'm noob here just trying to help:laugh::good:
Recently I dropped my phone and it fell on the ground. Of course it cracks knowing my luck and i can no longer touch it. Is there a way that I can use ADB or some other program to allow me to control my phone from my computer? I have taken pictures of the phone screen! Also is there anywhere that i can find a new LCD screen for cheap?

See here for ADB help + guide, you should be able to pull all the files off your phone:

Also, it is never good to buy a cheap screen replacement because you will get issues with it. rather spend a bit more and get a quality one :good:
