All is lost... - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

My TouchDual has just lost all touch sensitivity.
Theres no responds whatsoever(Only the hardware keys work).
So what now?
Is there a others that have had the same problem?
Theres a part of the screen, that started to lose sensitivity.
And now sadly the whole screen stop responding.

A copy-paste: You can get a new screen here for $60,- http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-dual-p-2277.html and a nice tutorial that shows how to take your dual apart: http://www.pdacenter.ru/razborka/razbor_htc_touch_dual/

You need only new touchscreen.
It's more cheaper than whole display.

Those are attached to eachother, i guess you can't buy a seperate touchscreen

man send it to HTC for repairs... i have a pharos that had the same problem... took 3 weeks and my touchscreen works again..

you need a 'digitiser' or 'digitizer', it isn't attached to the LCD, it's seperate
try emailing: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/easyworldwidetrading/

Thanks for the replays.
I dunno what kind of magic/bruteforce, that got my dual working again.
But at the moment my touchscreen is working again.
Tho it still looks messed up(The LCD is fine and looks perfect).
And sometime next month i´m buying a Touch Pro.
So until then i don't want to mess whit the phone.
Maybe i´ll send it for repairs(warranty), and see if they will repair it for free.

I got a new digitizer off ebay, and some tools from www.mobilefun.co.uk.
I have just assembled my Niki, and it works.
Thanks so much for the help.

Touchscreen not working after display replacement

Hello,
recently the display of my Universal broke, so since I have no warranty anymore I bought a new display (at eBay) and replaced the old one. That was with the detailed description of the service manual that you can find in the internet pretty easy.
The new display itself works fine but there is absolutly no touschreen ... the touchscreen is integrated in the display right? Did I forget something?
ernii
No, the touchscreen is a digitizer, like this (on the left is the digitizer):

So post here what exactly you have buyed and I told you what to do
Hmm should there be a picture in your posting? I don't see anything
I will make a picture of the part I replaced
So here are the pictures.
front:
and back:
I am sorry for the low quality - I shot them with a cell phone ...
If you need more information ... tell me what
I mean the digitizer for uni looks like this:
In your pictures seems to be display only, can you provide what information came with it?
The information shipped with it is pretty easy ... none
The pictures are the replaced part (so there should have been a touchscreen since I could use the touchscreen )
So I think I found the touchscreen on the new part (I think) ... I marked on new pictures.

and back:

So now I think the touchscreen of the new display is not working

8525 Screen Problem

this has happened over 5 months ago my screen had turned white with a bunch of straight lines coming down from the screen, this was after i was trying to update my phone and in which i had not tampered with it when it was updating. I've tried to mess with it when i took it apart to see if i could fix it, and after a few hours i got sick of it and just junked it somewhere in my room. Now that i have read the possible fix's for the screen, what i found out is that once i disconnect the connector to the buttons at the bottom the screen would just become white instead of the color strands on it. I've even tried to re-update it but the same problem still persist. If anyone has any idea how i can fix this problem that would be great.

Thank You For Reading My Problem
Steve
no one has any solution for this problem ?
can anyone help me please ? or has anyone had this problem.
Looks like Lcd flex cable may be loose. You'll have to pretty much dismantle your Hermes and see. Go to this site for HTC manual - http://michael-channon.spaces.live.com/
You should also PM Mike Channon if you really need help or advice as he is the Hardware specialist.
Cheers...
thank you for the help and the support bro.

Some people had it fixed under warrenty, others couldn't because it didn't fell under the HTC warrenty. Very strange indeed.
It is a common problem that appears if you carry your phone alot in your pockets.
Have no clue what to do about it. You should try the local HTC sellingpoint or the shop where you bought it.
You're screen is out, i had the same problem, i did must to change the screen.

the local HTC told me maybe they will change the screen & it's very expensive
but why this happen ??
thanks my friends for your help.

broken screen, need help.

Well my HD2 is now a paper weight not due to a bad flash, but because the touch screen no longer work.
The screen is cracked and a piece of it is missing, I'm not sure if i should order lcd screen, digitizer, or both. I attach a picture of the crack in hoping someone with some knowledge can help me out.
Also does anyone know of a place in Long Beach, CA area that can provide screen/digitizer replacement service at a fairly reasonable price.

Saw this on ebay might be worth checking out. http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-HD-2-Broken...0576654092?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item2a0b35130c
Don't know anything about the place just thought I would pass the info.
thanks for the info. I'm going to try to find a local dealer first before i start shipping things out.
That looks like a digitizer problem, does the lcd screen turn on at all?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
everything works except for the touch part.

soo broke the screen but..

is it the touch screen or the LCD? I am thinking the touch digitizer because the screen looks fine just cracked and the touch screen works fine to I handed it down to the kiddo becasue I got an asus so hoping if its cheap just fix it myself. (though he does like the wifes nabi 2 )

Looks like it is just the digitizer, just annoying aesthetically.
The digitizers are on sale at All4Cellular for just under $30. There is no shortage of online tutorials and video tutorials for replacing the screen.

Just make sure to err on the side of caution if you're replacing it yourself.
There are a lot more things that can break in the process that could render your tablet unusable.
Be patient of all things.
