If you want to fast your moto g by stopping animation scale in developer options you are the victim of this problem. I suffer this problem at least 7 month from the buying this device. Now i find the solutions at least minimum animations scale 0.5 is required for dialer work properly.
I think it will be helpful info for others.

The dialler changed in 4.4.3+, is the bug still present?
Sent from my XT1033 using Tapatalk
To be honest this is not a bug, stopping animation cause the damage.
Sent from my XT1033 using Tapatalk
It's present in 4.4.4 so no doubt the same is true of 4.4.3 too. Just do as hrazib suggests, turn the animations back on, even to the lowest setting, and it'll work just fine.
It's something odd. I haven't experienced it before 4.4.2.
Tip:
Custom roms and GravityBox Xposed module for stock roms include 0,25x animation option.
Edit:
GravityBox includes an option to show dial pad automatically even with animations off.

I just realized that since upgrading to 4.2.1, I can now toggle GPS on and off directly from my Power Toggles widget.
Previously, it would take me to Location Settings where I would have to enable GPS (been like this for third party apps since Android 2.x or thereabouts). Confirmed it's not some trickery on the part of the widget by installing the same widget on a different device with a lower Android (4.0.4) and on that device, pressing toggle in Power Toggles still takes me to Location Settings and does not toggle GPS directly.
Anyone else notice this ?
Also, I am not referring to the Power Control widget that comes with stock android, as that is built into system and always allowed direct toggling of GPS. I am referring to a third party app downloaded from Play Store.
Got my N4 yesterday and it came loaded with 4.2 (no need for an update out of the box), but I haven't noticed the activity you were describing. Just tested 3 times while checking running services and status in Settings.

This happened after update from 4.2 to 4.2.1 - do you have 4.2.1 ?

It's because of an update of Power Toogles app, not related to OTA at all:
Code:
*Fixed Notification icon picker crash issues, sorry for this.
Added screen rotation lock toggle.
GPS 1-click in some cases
Fixed some image manipulation bugs which was causing pixeled icons
1-click airplane mode for rooted android 4.2 (if installed as system app)
Few minor UI fixes
OIC. no 4.2.1 for me yet. Tried to force it a couple times, but nothing.

I noticed that the camera shortcut is not present in the lock screen (I still have to swype left, like regular 4.3)
For some strange reason, when you go to the Settings -> System Info and tap Android 4.4, I don't see the big K that rotates, it's just gray, and if I tap I eventually get the Red Android Splash screen.
And of course, no HDR+ nor that battery saving audio mode Nexus 5 has. (possibly hardware limitations?) Still, not a major complain since Google DOES state those are Nexus 5 exclusive features, but would've been nice to share across the GPE line (after all, wasn't that the point of a GPE Device? Enjoy Nexus features on other OEMs?? and correct me if I'm wrong)
I DO like to see Smart Dialer was included, as well as other features such as Tap and Pay, a revamped GPS setting, and with GEL, phone feels entirely new. Loving that music widget in the lock screen. It's beautiful.
Overall I'm liking Kit Kat so far, it does feel lighter, and battery has shown some improvement. Sadly I won't enable ART since it screwed up Whatsapp and I had to do a factory reset.
Have a Kit Kat!
So far its very smooth. Which music widget are you speaking of specifically?

yay for having the new dialer icon!

That is only for devices with soft keys.
I'm not sure if it is just me but the status bar on the lockscreen is not transparent, it was on the pure AOSP builds.

Hello,
I have an annoying problem with my new G2.
I have installed all my usual apps, including Google Now Launcher. Everything worked fine including knock on and knock off from the statusbar.
After completly draining the battery and restarting the phone, knock off feature does not work anymore ( not even from the notification bar corner ). Reverting to stock launcher does not fix the problem.
Does anybody have a fix for this ?
Thank you.

Found the fix on another forum :
I figured out a solution. I had "Animator duration scale" set to 0x in the developer options. Turn this to 1x (or 0.5x if you would rather animations go faster) and restart the phone. This fixed my problem.*
Note that this does bring back the annoying CRT screen turn off animation that I dislike but I prefer having that and still being able to double tap the status bar. Also note that you can leave window and transition animation scales to 0x if you wish, they have no effect on this problem.

Hello,
Is it possible to have ambient display working on the Note 4 like the Nexus 6 just by picking it up or when a notification arrives ?
yup. enable it from the hidden air gesture menu using the app. no rooting required.
Cool thanks, and does it affect the battery life ?

I don't have such menu!! Where should I look for it??????
What app?????
It's not in the recent release. It's missing. It should be under the display and wallpaper menu in the settings screen above the daydream option. You can use alternative apps from play store such as acDisplay or dynamicnotifications - they are more like the moto x (2014) version of ambient display so won't be the same as what you'll get on nexus 6 or in cm12. I'm guessing they'll release it in a future update which I hope is sooner rather than later. The lollipop release for note 4 had been somewhat delayed for one reason or another. There's also a bug on the priority notifications where you can't set a time period for auto selection of priority notifications as you would have in blocking mode. I'm hoping that is resolved in a future update too.

Seems like the coding is there but I'm guessing the ui implementation could be one of the bugs that they're supposedly working on. Hope three rollout of lollipop starts again soon and that these issues are rectified.

Ty. But works in 910f?
I upgraded my phone yesterday to 6.01, and I'm running stock rooted. Ever since the upgrade, some of my quick tiles are mislabeled. Some examples are that it says hotspot under flashlight, and pattern required when you restart under the airplane mode iconView attachment 3581290
Also, my lockscreen has the clock in the 24 hour format.
Is anyone else having this problem, and do you know how to fix it?
Thanks!
Do you have Xposed/Gravity Box installed? I have noticed on previous devices that when you update Gravity Box it can cause things to display in the wrong spots or look odd.
You could also try going to System UI Tuner and turning those tiles off and back on again.
I don't have xposed installed. I tried to delete the icons and added them back, but they are still mislabeled.
You flashed the key swap. Not compatible with 6.0.1. You need to flash the new version. I had the exact same thing.

Thanks so much! That did the trick. It did not occur to me that switching the softkeys would cause that problem. I will definitely remember this for the future.
