I upgraded my phone yesterday to 6.01, and I'm running stock rooted. Ever since the upgrade, some of my quick tiles are mislabeled. Some examples are that it says hotspot under flashlight, and pattern required when you restart under the airplane mode iconView attachment 3581290
Also, my lockscreen has the clock in the 24 hour format.
Is anyone else having this problem, and do you know how to fix it?
Thanks!
Do you have Xposed/Gravity Box installed? I have noticed on previous devices that when you update Gravity Box it can cause things to display in the wrong spots or look odd.
You could also try going to System UI Tuner and turning those tiles off and back on again.
I don't have xposed installed. I tried to delete the icons and added them back, but they are still mislabeled.
You flashed the key swap. Not compatible with 6.0.1. You need to flash the new version. I had the exact same thing.

Thanks so much! That did the trick. It did not occur to me that switching the softkeys would cause that problem. I will definitely remember this for the future.

I've looked around but couldn't find anything. I've noticed that when I change my DPI in the build.prop the Google Search bar is gone from the top of the recent app list. I've changed my DPI on every device I've owned, and this is the first time I've noticed this issue.
I've also noticed that once in a while it does appear, but I don't exactly know what's triggering it, and it will disappear the next time I go to the recents menu.
I'm most comfortable at 500 right now. I've tried 520, 480, and 420 (what the N5X is at). Everyone of them seems to have this issue. I really can't stand keeping it at 560.
I did something in the build prop relating to trying to activate multiwindow using "persist.sys.debug.multi_window=true*" but I don't have root. Ever since, my search bar in recents has disappeared.
NOTE: I've tried to reboot into safe mode but things always return back to being abnormal after. I need help or suggestions.
I fixed my problem just by force stopping Google now launcher
Same problem here with a nexus 5x. I've tried reboot to safe mode, clear cache, force stopping google now launcher but nothing happened. This problem is driving me crazy!
I haven't had a search bar in my recents since I got the phone (although I unlocked BL, flashed it to MDB08M and systemless rooted as soon as I got it), haven't found a solution. Any ideas?
Incompatible app
The search bar disappears due to an incompatible app, especially apps which creates widget's. In my case its yatse app causing the search bar to disappear. Identify the app uninstall and reboot.
Turn on Auto-rotate and load some apps in recent apps.Open recent apps.
Now switch to landscape mode and then back again to portrait mode.
I took on the OTA 6.0 update a few days ago. My Moto X is not rooted and the boot loader is not unlocked. It is completely stock and on the AT&T network. Before the update I could reliably use the chop method to turn the flashlight on, but after the update I can not get it to activate. I verified the option is on in the "Moto" application, but my wrist now hurts from trying a variety of chopping and shaking motions.
I also don't see a flashlight/torch icon in the the notification pulldown quick settings. It is driving me nuts. Has anyone else seen this after installing the update?
Working fine here.

Works the same as loli for me
Do you have the ability to turn on the flashlight from the quick setting in the notification panel?

I have the same issue as you, but I do have the flashlight icon on the quick settings. Curiously, twist to turn camera on works.
I think I would be ok with the chop not working if I could find a way to turn it on without downloading a 3rd party app.

Did you check through SystemUI tuner if the tile can be added back? If not, have you tried to use Custom Quick Settings app on the PlayStore to manually add the tile back to quick settings?
I rebooted the phone, and now it is there in the notification quick panel and the chop is working. That was driving me crazy.
Thanks for the help everyone.
Hi! My I am on 5.0 using the stock Samsung TouchWIZ ROM (I heard you can't dial 911 on custom ROMs on this phone so that terrified me) but anyway I have Wanam Xposed installed and it has an option for displaying the date in the status bar along with the time. The time only shows up. Not the date. If I tell Wanam to move the clock to the center, it will do that, which is weird because it has SOME control over the clock but cannot seem to get the date up there?
I also installed GravityBox and surprisingly a lot of features work however, just like Wanam, I can't seem to get the date and/or day of the week to show up in my status bar.
Anyone know what's going on? Thank you!
Not all features work. That's known.

I don't mean to sound dumb but why would it be an option then? I thought the point of Wanam was to make options available that worked with Samsung phones.
I am not complaining. I am just confused as to why the option would be there then. Similarly, some options using GravityBox work just fine that aren't in Wanam, such as adjusting the brightness by swiping across the statusbar and clicking back twice to enable/disable screen rotation.
Hello, I recently (ish) got the LG G6 H872 T-Mobile and I have loved it so far. Everything works wonderfully and smoothly. Transitioning from a Nexus 5X which means stock to the LG G6 was slightly tough because all previous phones were also stock Android. It's also weird not having Oreo... Anyways, I love everything except for this one bug which I can't seem to fix or find a fix for. Trust me, when I say I've tried because I normally don't ask people for help because I like to try to fix things myself.
What's wrong; In the quick settings, I have enabled the volume and brightness sliders and that's okay. But when I slide down to show the tiles, the sliders stay there and overlap the tiles, which makes it annoying.
Here's a video:

What I've tried: Everything but factory reset. If it's possible to fix without a factory reset, then I'll gladly take it. But if not, I want to wait for Oreo to come out to see if that fixes it. I have restarted the phone, restarted System UI, and some other things like disabling and enabling features, but nothing has seemed to work.
How to recreate: I honestly have no idea, I apologize.
Thanks in advance,
HansAnonymous
Edit: I've fixed it by myself... ?
How to fix: I've somehow turned off fancy pulldown animation through the SystemUI Tuner app from the Play Store and to fix, you just simply turn it back on.
If mod could close thread, that'd be great.
mayby its a theme problem change to default
I searched thoroughly and couldn't find a thread or a fix. Where do we edit the quick settings in the notification pulldown? Mine is blank, and I don't readily see it in Settings, nor is there an edit function in the pulldown. Suggestions?
You don't have the editing pencil icon on there?

Nah, it's straight blank...
Someone else here solved that by rebooting the phone. Afterward the pencil icon appeared and they were able to set it up. Can't remember which thread at this point.
I've rebooted twice. No success...
Pull down the notifications and then pull down again on the (blank for you currently) quicksettings section and you'll see pencil that lets you edit

Oddly enough, I was able to get the quick settings to show up on the lockscreen. I edited it from there, and voila. It's a wierd glitch...

Thanks for this. JUST picked up mine and was going crazy since I wasn't seeing the toggles. Very odd that it comes up blank like that out of the box.
Hey I found out the issue here. I had the same thing happen with the T-mobile variant. I did a factory reset and restored my google account and it was still missing. I did a second factory reset and didn't restore and sure enough it showed up. I then did the oneplus restore and nothing changed. I then got the phone unlocked and still no issue. After a restart everything was fine and then I did a google restore. I chose only to restore call logs and messages. The second it was done the quick settings disappeared again. This is clearly an issue with google and this device. Not sure if it's a T-Mobile issue specifically

Ah, thank you, that fixed it for me. Mine was looking just like yours. And when I locked the screen and then pulled down the notifications drawer, a pencil did appear which let me fix it all up.
I think I might know what broke it for me. When I upgraded my OnePlus 5 from OxygenOS 5.1.7 to 9.0.3, I still had jOnePlus Tools [adb/root] by JRoot3D.dev installed, and it was changing how many quick settings tiles are shown after one swipe down (in the single row). I think it was essentially doing this:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_qqs_count 8
When I used the app to change that number, all my quick settings tiles disappeared. The app has not been updated in a while, so I'm going to keep it off my phone until it's updated for Android Pie
Just as a quick update on this. This is still a problem on the T-Mobile device on 9.0.13 fully stock.
I guess this must then mean that the quick setting cannot be hidden on the lockscreen...

Actually, I think I found a better solution here.
The trick seems to be that on the unlocked version of the shade, the pencil and user switcher icons only show up when you expand the QS panel. However, if you don't have enough icons in the panel to force the need for the additional row (there is a little hint that shows up when you drag an icon that indicates that you need at least 6 icons), then you can't swipe it down, and there no icons or any warning of any sort are shown.
The shade on the lockscreen doesn't appear to enforce that icon minimum, so the pencil and user switcher show up fine (perhaps this is due to the fact that on the lockscreen, the notifications themselves don't live in the shade as they do when the device is unlocked).
It also seems like older OOS versions didn't enforce that icon minimum, so if you only had, say 4 icons (not sure who would do that), then did an upgrade, you would have this strange behavior.
