TomTom audio via Bluetooth

Running TomTom Nav 7 and the only way I can get the directions via Bluetooth is by using BTAudioToggle. Unfortunately this opens the Bluetooth channel and keeps it open, the head unit in the car constantly displays 'Phone' and the instructions play loud and clear but I then don't have access to the car audio. Using my BT headset results the battery expiring after about three hours.
Ideally I would like the TomTom audio to open the BT channel only when it's got something to say so that the head unit in the car mutes, plays the TT instruction and then returns to the car audio. Similarly when using the BT headset only using the BT channel when TT has something to say the battery life would be far more acceptable.
Has anyone found a way to do the above?
I suppose the alternative for the car is to get an FM transmitter and use the X1 for audio and navigation.

TomTom & Ford Car Bluetooth

Hi, I am having problems when I bluetooth my HD2 with the Ford Mondeo and try to use TT7.
There is No Voice from the handset.
But when I turn off bluetooth I can hear.
Has anyone had this problem or know how to get around this?
Thanks!!!
As far as I know the Ford Sound&Connect Bluetooth Modukle does only support Voice like from noemal phonecalls (no idea how to protocoll is called at the moment).
My Mondeo is build in 2007. So I have the bluetooth module but no sound&connect. Does yours normally support a2dp? Can you listen to mp3s, streamed to your Mondeo? I guess no but would be interesting to know.
In case you can hear audio (not phonecalls) at the mondeo, streamed from your hd2 this would mean its a timing problem. Tomtom is "saying" something but the bluetooth connection needs to time to come back from standby. In that case you could simply listen to an mp3 file without any sound and try it again in parrallel.
A bit hard to explain for me but maybe it helps.
Feedback is much welcome!
I've got a ford mondeo (8 months old) and unfortunately it doesn't have the ability to stream audio via bluetooth.

[Q] Toyota Bluetooth Streaming

Has anybody used the Galaxy S4 to stream audio over Bluetooth from various apps to recent Toyota non-GPS head units?
Currently I have a Droid DNA, and it will not stream audio from apps like Audible, Dog Catcher, Netflix, Dish Anywhere, or even Play Music. I have a 2012 4Runner without the GPS head unit, and it seems to be the case with most recent non-GPS Toyotas. Phone calls work fine. This has become a bit of a deal-breaker for me, but I don't want to make the jump if I'm going to run into the same issue.
Any experience or testing will be much appreciated.
I have a 2012 camry and corolla with no issues at all using play music and pandora. Camry has touch screen no nav...corolla is a garbage unit.

No problem here on my Camry 2012 non GPS unit. I've noticed that with the new update to google music, some songs are annoyingly choppy. I've re-installed the app and it still sounds the same. I'm going to try to set a new connection, I hope I don't have a faulty phone.
As for your problem go to Settings>Bluetooth>Click on the Gear Icon on the paired Bluetooth Radio>Make sure that Call Audio and Media Audio is both checked.
I have the same issues with my Toyota Tacoma 2013, tomorrow I will go with my dealer to figure out if need some firmware update.
In my case the phone pairing and works only for the call not bluetooth audio streaming, the unit try connect but the audioplayer disconnects right away.
I installed one app SoundAbout to set up the bluetooth behavior but not works still.
Let me know if you found something, also this forum has the same issue thread

[Q] Bluetooth and Multiple connections

Hello.
I am using my S4 in car.
It connects at same time to my car hands free (Audi MMI) with Call Audio profile and it connects to my A2DP Music receiver (connected to my car IPOD cable) using A2DP profile.
This dongle supports also Call Audio profile but I have paired it using only A2DP.
Connections are good and phone always connect to both without connection issues.
Sometimes (often) when it is connected to both devices, music and sound stop playing (the player is going on with playing and with time counter but I can't hear any sound from car or from phone speaker).
If I disconnect car hands free, music starts playing from car audio speakers.
If I reconnect car hands free again, music stops playing.
When this happen, the only way I found to solve is to restart the phone and then all is ok (phone hands free and music streaming).
I have the problem with 4.3 but it was the same also with previuos 4.2.2 android version.
I think it is a phone problem since restarting always solve it.
Someone had the same problem or has any advice?
Thank you
Chris

Bluetooth media playback suddenly broken

I was playing a video podcast on my JVC car stereo via bluetooth earlier. After stopping for 5 minutes I started the car again, waited for the phone to reconnect to the car stereo bluetooth , then resumed playback of the podcast. This time there was no audio playback through the car stereo, and I couldn't do anything to get it to work again. I tried rebooting the phone (twice) but despite appearing to connect successfully to the JVC unit there is no audio playback.
Can anyone suggest anything else to try? I'm running Phoenix ROM v9.4 (Android 4.4.2).
