As in scroll recent list of messages? Sometimes I'll swipe away a notification and there's no way to bring it back up.. same with emails (not gmail, the actual mail app). As far as I know there's no way to bring it back.
Anyone know of a way or a 3rd party app?

Why would you want to open hangouts on the watch? it only shows you the latest hangout anyway..
basically i'm looking for a way to open recent notifications but what i would like is a way to open apps like hangouts or email, so even old messages can be opened and answered to.

In order for that to work you would have to bring back the notification on the phone. Not sure how you would do that...
I'd like to be able to open hangouts as well. I don't think you really need the notification back, you just want access to the messages. That'd be awesome.

If you use hangouts just for sms you can try wear messenger. You can see all your sms conversations there. If you use hangouts for, well, hangouts then there's no way to do that currently.

Threaded SMS is nice but if I have 5+ SMS messages in my inbox, I have to open one, read, goback to the main screen, click the next unread message, etc.
It would be nice to be able to read the next unread message by click Next or a shortcut key.
Is this possible? Anyone seen an application that does this?
There is no native way to disable threaded SMS and I don't know of an app that does as it's very much superior to standard message collecting. If there was an app I would be surprised.
Threr are several SMS apps on the market.. I'm sure one will do what you ask - it's something that annoys me too... haven't had time to try the different ones though.
None of the 3rd party ones do MMS as far as I know, so I'm currently stuck on the stock one. If that's not important to you there may be one that suits.

Yea, none of them seem to have that option. The closest thing is SMS Popup. I like it, but it only shows the latest message.
So I am using aContacts to replace the phone (taking recommendations on better Contact Manager apps as well!); however, whenever I receive a missed call and click on the notification at the top it opens up the People app. I have tried to remove the People app but it just tells me that the app is missing when I click the missed call function instead of opening aContacts. I guess I need two applications one to replace Phone and the other to replace People?
Also, I am using handcent for SMS and MMS and wanted to delete Messaging. I deleted it the other day but I noticed I couldn't receive MMS until I added it back.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and if you all have new app recommendations please don't hold back -- always looking for great apps.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I don't think you can do that without breaking something, as People is a core application.

I stand somewhat corrected. You're trying to replace the people application, which aContacts doesn't do...but when I hit the phone button at the bottom, my phone is asking me if I want to open Phone or aContacts.
So, it doesn't replace the people app, but the phone. When I now look at missed calls and click on the notification, it prompts me to open phone or acontacts.
But the odd thing is, if I select aContacts, it goes back to phone. Weird.

Hi, I have a question about deleting multiple emails or sms. When I go to either one of them, I can not select more than one (I used to have X1 and when I clicked on one of them and keep scrolling down, I could select more than one). Is there any way? Do I need to dowload a program?
Thanks!

If you want to delete a whole sms thread, then you can just long press on it and you should get a popup where u can choose delete entire thread
No idea about email - the inbuilt mail app sucks anyway
Thanks, but the what I more need to know is how do I delete multiple emails, instead of deleting each individually and just click on one and scroll down until I select the ones I want to delete. I guess is not possible...that really sucks
I feel like a broken record, and honest I don't work for them, but Handcent SMS allows you to delete multiple threads. It does lots of other stuff too.
The email app does absolutely suck, but having looked for the answer on this before I believe it is an android problem not just an X10 prob. Not found any answers on any of the forums that I lurk on.

The 2 most popular email apps are K-9 Mail, and Droidmail. I personally prefer K-9, but both are better than the regular email app that comes with android.
Multi-Select delete, and all of those great options are there in K-9.
Ok thanks! Hope they do something soon for this matter.

Ooooh thanks for the heads up. Must have missed this one on my trolling thru. Downloading now. See, it is true you learn something new everyday!
Update... have downloaded it and finally found a way to get rid of the gmail folders, as I dont use them, that are a constant on the stock app. Loving it so far. Thanks again
For deleting multiple sms without wiping a thread, there's an app called sms cleaner. Couple of different options for deleting messages including by date received and keyword. Some reviews say it doesn't work, but it's because the numbers don't reflect instantly. Waiting a bit after closing the messaging app and checking later will show the correct number of messages remaining.

I know i'm over looking something very simple. I see an option to disable vibrate for calls, but do not see anything for notifications.
TIA gents.
i didnt see it either.
I think they are in the individual apps. Like for SMS, there is a vibrate notification option in the settings of the SMS app itself.

Cool. I searched for hours trying to find out how to do that, lol. I guess that what happens when you're coming from WinMo.
Because it is clearly too much to expect google to make it as easy as windows or an iphone.
For this, and also for alarms, for selecting text, for clicking on phone numbers and urls (not all of which work) in email and calendar entries, etc.
I would be very surprised if froyo fixes any of this.
Maybe the googlies made too much money on the stock that they simply don't care because they already own iphones.
end of rant.
Hello!
Does anyone have any insight for me? I use an android wear smart watch and I want to use the default email and sms programs on the S7e. The problem is that if I get a text message or email through those default programs and then I swipe it left (which dismisses it) the phone itself still retains the notification and acts like I have not read it.
If I use gmail or inbox and also google's s no issue. The problem is that to take advantage of the edge functionality I need to use the default apps.
can anyone provide a way to make it so my android watch can dismiss notifications on my phone?
I'm curious about this as well. Getting tired of having to manually clear the notification.

Within the android wear app itself I decided to disable phone notifications when connected to my watch... that is a temp fix I guess but I think there has to be a better way
