Hello. Since I installed omega v19 rom and up until now that I use the latest v21 I have a huge battery drain from android os and android system. Here are some pics. I've tried to do everything I think that could help. I've closed location services - wi-fi - mobile data- I've installed the omega rom with full wipe and without any extra app installed. I've done a wipe data from the recovery. And still the problem doesnt go away. It's really annoying! In 9 hours without wifi and without even open the screen, I have 74% battery.... Until i write this topic with only wifi open and brightness to 20% the battery is 68%! Please help me. Thank you in advance!

I have had similar issues. [1].
At least in my case all NF4 based ROMs (including stock) drained the battery like crazy (~20+%/h when *idle*).
The problem was solved by installing the latest CM 11 nightly (CM11M8 has CPU governor issues that causes it run @2+ Ghz during idle).
Couple with some selective Google sync configuration, I'm currently averaging ~0.8%-1.5%/h when idle.

Thank you for you response my friend. Sorry although because I dont know what cm11nightly is. I suppose from this things you said that it is somekind of cpu adjuster for the phone when the screen is off or something like this. If you have some time I would be very gratefull if you explain to me some more things about CM 11. Install-use- etc..

Sorry for the stupid question I've made to you earlier. Ive searched and see that it is a different rom from mine. Thank u. But I like omega very much. My phone never freezes or reboots with this rom. Any idea for the omega rom?

Sorry for the late reply.
ROM aside, I'd suggest you install some type of CPU monitoring application (E.g. BetterBattryStatus+) and see if your CPU is locked at maximum speed (>= 2Ghz). This might cause over-heating and random reboot.
I had the exact same problem. Changing from the omega kernel to stock kernel helped solve my problem
With stock kernel you have less battery drain but you still have.

My Xperia arc is working fine and my battery performance is OK. But, the battery percentage is always showing at 85%, in the status settings and in numerous apps I tried. Is there anyway to fix this issue so that I can monitor my battery percentage?
I've already tried hard reset. The phone is rooted so installing a custom ROM is an option if that would work?
Also, I have the fixtool for fixing the 0% battery issue, maybe that will work?
Any help will be much appreciated and I will give thanks to a response
Thanks in advance

Please read the FAQ on the sticky thread:

[Q] I installed your stuff and my battery % is stuck. Can you help?
[A] Make sure you dont have a task killer messing with the apk fix - it must runs ALL THE TIME to monitor peripheral usage. Also, make sure you installed the correct version of kernel and apk fix - check app version and kernel version, to make sure you have latest version. Also, you need to be on correct stock firmware version before patching the kernel. If all versions are ok, try to stop the apk fix service and clean app data. If this cannot help, flash stock firmware (watch out to match the firmware version and kernel version), wipe the data, patch the kernel, and install app fix.

Try using Titanium Backup to freeze unwanted apps.
You can also back up everything, do a factory wipe and then restore whatever you need from Titanium.
This may free up RAM.
But what's the problem anyway? Free RAM is wasted RAM in Android. Using task killers achieves nothing - it just uses up more system resources.
You could limit background processes in dev tools

You can set apps to auto end in Task Manager and restart your phone once everyday.

Maybe try some other launcher instead of Go. This way you can pin point if go launcher is the reason or the ROM itself... Apex is a nice launcher and there are many others.
You can root and try cm 7.2 , its very light on resources and zippy ..

The method I suggested above (Titanium Backup) will not completely work unless you have root.
I have rooted and unrooted with SuperOneClick - but I'm on a different SBF and ROM than you. I'm pretty sure you can do it.
I never heard of that SBF though - where did you get that from?
How about a screenshot of your "About Phone" ?
that's my stock rom which came with my defy+ when i bought by January 2012. i don't know how to take screenshot of my own phone details.

You can install a screenshot app or just copy and paste the info here.
I don't see your particular SBF file available for download anywhere.
I suggest you root with SuperOneClick, install 2ndInitDefy / CWM and make a NAND backup. (#1)
Then do a wipe data / factory reset and make another NAND backup. (#2)
Then go and flash whatever ROM turns you on, overclock, undervolt, tweak CPU settings etc.
If you don't like the result, simply restore your NAND backup #1.
If you ever need to return your phone for warranty then restore backup #2, unroot, and remove 2ndInit.
Not sure why you are worried about free memory though. It is probably not causing poor performance on your Defy.
the EX Launcher itself is a big RAM cosumer.
try uninstalling and check using other task killer.
anyone please give me rough idea about space needed in SD card to take nandroid back up with & without factory resetting.

Anywhere from around 300MB to 700MB usually.

Yep. Free RAM has nothing to do with speed / performance on the Defy. Not sure what the OP problem is.
Try Launcher Pro... Its fast and fluid and consumes less RAM than any other launcher.
And disabled some apps which you dont need to RUN. also do not install too much apps.

The actual problem is after few days of usage after a reboot the RAM goes below 50MB so if i open opera mobile browser the music running in jetaudio or inbuilt music player stops and mobile starts to lag.when i try to switch from opera mobile to music player and back to opera mobile, opera gets restarted.its irritating to see phone lagging like this i have installed some 20+app not sure if that is a reason.
I thought of buying titanium backup pro but the reviews given for it is not so good can someone tell me if there is any issue with latest version of that software pls.

No. The actual problem is you are not rooted so you don't have full control over your system.
Titanium might help but Titanium Pro for Root will help more, as will ohter various tweaks and tricks you can apply when you root, including flashing alternate ROMs.

Hey friends.
Im running the latest kt kernel and phoenix rom woth ktoons suggested kernel settings. Everything is running great and the battery life is outstanding. I did a full wipe before flashing.
Nevertheless, after about one hour of using the phone, opening apps etc everything becomes extremely sluggish and slow. It gets immediately better when i force close all running apps and use the clear memory function of the touchwiz taskmanager.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any tipps?
Thanks!

Try these:
- Turn off location services (this one is huge)
- Turn off auto update
- Turn off wifi and mobile data when you're not using them
- Install Greenify
- Install BetterBatteryStats+ which will help you track the source of the problem
Post a screenshot of your battery page in settings.

nothing to do with it except factory reset Or flash another official firmware.
anyway u should check if Adroid.System drain battery for several days or just some days.
cause always lots of battery usage from system itself or system app doesn't mean battery draining...

When i'm on 3g android sistem use around 8-10% every hour (screen off). I think it Can be called battery drain. If it's possible I would avoid factory reset.

if u have s-view cover so don't delete it.
cause it s system app u need root explorer to uninstall it.
and cause u have problem with android.system itself best way is factory reset
make backup of u apps and data by Kies3 and reset it

root ur device and use any file browser or rom toolbox pro, in rom toolbox u will just see that on app list but in file browser go to /system/priv-app
ok but anybody tried it? doesn't it fück the system??? I really wanna remove the apk from sys/app but if the system don't boot I'm not so familiar with ADB..
Have you disabled all the S View settings under Settings > Accessories?
Android System is normal around 10-25%.That's a bug in the battery values. It's lost system as 20% even after 4 hours of heavy ganing, with the game at 3%. (I suspect Android System is the Android equivalent of Idle Processes on Windows.)
