So for some reason all of a sudden I can't get the "OK google" voice command to work. I'm running stock KitKat and I've tried it in both the LG ui and Nova Launcher. Has anyone else had this trouble? Any ideas on how to fix would be great, thanks in advance.

Did you enable it inside Google now settings, so that it allows you to use it from any screen?
I tried to set it up to work from any homescreen but it won't respond when I try to go through the voice recognition steps.

Did you train the phone to recognize your voice for Google Now?

When I try to train it, it doesn't react when I say the OK google command 3x. Conversely, I tried it on a galaxy s4 I have and I could train it just fine and make the command work from any home screen.

Vlingo is the default voice command now is there a way to get rid of it

Use titanium back up to freeze or remove it. Im not a big fan of it and removed it. Using stock voice control now with no issues.
I like vlingo with the exception of me not being able to use it when my device is connected to my Mazda's bluetooth.
It just sucks cause prior to the update I didn't have to use it

Why not go to "Voice Input & Output settings" and change it to Google ?
I use Google Now quite often but when I woke up this morning, swiping up from the bottom of the screen no longer does anything. I don't remember turning Now off and can't seem to find the settings to turn it back on.
Does anyone know how to turn it back on?

do you still have google now installed? is the search app working?
No now that I looked the Google search bar is missing as well. I looked in settings>apps>all and can't find it to enable it, not that I ever disabled it anyway.

okay, click on this link from your n7 and use the play store app. does it say installed or not? https://play.google.com/store/apps/...nbGUuYW5kcm9pZC5nb29nbGVxdWlja3NlYXJjaGJveCJd
That worked. It was disabled and I needed to enable it. I don't know how it got disabled but its fixed now. Thanks for the help

I have the same problem but when I go into settings, I don't see the toggle key to enable/disable Google now.
I am having trouble using S Voice on 3g. Google Now works better it seems. How can I get Google Now to be my default when activating voice dialing?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Use Home2 Shortcut. I can't pay the link but it's on the play store.
Step 1 Choose Voice Search.
Step 2 Choose very very short.
Step 3 Choose your launcher. (Touchwiz, Nova, etc)
Step 4 Do step 4.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Home 2 Shortcut worked for bypassing S Voice except for when I try to activate voice dialing from my Bluetooth earpiece. I had to freeze S Voice to get that to default to Google voice dialing.

Glad to help. I did finally edit step 3 to the correct action so that might help. Sorry about taking so long. I tried to edit earlier but there is a delay for editing new posts and then I went camping.

Is anyone using this combo yet?
I have it installed, however, I am quite annoyed. When I hit the home button back to the home screen of the Kit Kat Launcher, the keyboard pops up. It's basically seeing google now "listening" on the homescreen and thinking that I want to type in it right away.
It would be the same function as if I hit a search button, the keyboard pops right away.
any help would be awesomeeeeeee!

Initially, Google Search kept crashing, even after trying the languages trick. Using the lib file recommended by @docnok63 worked perfectly. Saying, "Ok Google" from the any of your Homescreens or Google Now activates voice search. All search queries performed were successful and crash free.
(Rename the original to libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so.bak before copying.)
libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so (Tested, confirmed working! )

Anyone successfully get the 4.4 GoogleTTS working from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506623
It installed fine, but force closes on me when I select it.
The .zip file method never worked for me, so I was hoping that this .apk method might have better luck
[FWIW, .zip method located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472959&page=7]
I installed the GEL and search pulled from the nexus 5 that others use and say it works but the "ok Google" at anytime on the home screen doesn't work for me. I have it on English us and changed it then changed back cause I heard that helps but still no avail. Even when inside Google now I can't say ok Google, and I do have voice activation checked in settings. Any idea?

I haven't messed with it but are you running the newest Google search that was released on the playstore (not the one pulled from nexus 5) if you have the new version released to everyone and the launcher it should work. I know people had issues with the pulled one from nexus 5

"Ok google" is hit and miss right now. Works on some devices but not the G2. You would think with the Snapdragon 800 it would surely work but not with this update, wait till the next one boss.

That's odd, "Ok Google" always seems to work perfectly for me. Just had to re-download the English(US) language pack and it worked.

Yeah I am, I used the guide here, http://phandroid.com/2013/11/14/how-to-install-google-experience-launcher-with-ok-google-command/ before it refused to work for me at all, now it works every time it seems. Look for the first picture before the following paragraph:
"Once in Google Now, scroll all the way to the bottom and press the 3 dot menu to select Settings. From there, select “voice” > “offline speech recognition” (manage downloaded languages). Now, we’re going to work our way from the right tab, all the way to the left." Then follow what it says. If it still won't work, then you can try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531512 As the OP person claims this worked on their G2 out of the box.
