Yesterday i openend Whatsapp
And was hovering my finger over a message with long text..
an air view balloon popped up and showed me the rest of the message.. now i tryed this again and it doesnt seem to work anymore.. i dont know why it worked and also dont know why it doesnt anymore.. anyone has an idea?

As far as I'm aware air view doesn't work for third party apps.

Thats true. somehow Only whatsapp worked with air view and know it doesnt anymore..

Hi, I just bought my Galaxy S4 (i9500) yesterday, June 28th.
Since the moment i bought it, I am facing the following issues.
AIR VIEW:
Air View is working while I am watching videos and i want to forward them. But it doesnt work with stock email app, messaging, webpages etc. I tried disabling and re-enabling the air-view and air-gestures, but the problem isnt solved.
Smart Stay/Scroll:
Also, smart stay doesnt work, the video isnt paused when i look away from the screen. Neither does the smart scroll work with webpages.
Please help me with these issues. How can i solve them ? Do i need to change some settings ?

I have the same problem. Tried several roms and kernels but no luck. If the smart stay uses the front cam to function which then cam is fully functional, I suspect is software related
Edit: latest Samsung firmware (MGG) fixed all my problems

Maybe you are blocking the front cam with your finger? Or its dirty, or you wear glasses?
I'm on stock 4.4 touchwiz rom and today air view suddenly worked for the folders on my homescreen, but just for once!:crying: Is it possible to explain this? Is it possible to make it work permanently?

Yeah, same here; it works on and off randomly on Touchwiz folders, Google Newsstand widget and another (Dutch) news-app widget, see attached screenshots. Can't figure out what triggers it. If anyone knows how to switch it on permantly, much appreciated!

Sorry to bump such an old thread but I wanted to say that I have exactly the same issue! One day, I noticed I could preview folders with Air view and thought it was a new feature since I updated the software the day before. However it didn't work the next time I tried it. Since then, the feature is very random; sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
Really don't know what the exact trigger is...
How to activate AirView to work with fingers like on Note 3?
I also miss that feature especially with speed dial. I couldn't find the option anywhere. It seems to be no longer available

Yes ok, work only with pen but... It's an hardware limitation or just only software?
Seems like hardware to me. When you 'hack' into the hidden settings and enable air view it still doesn't work.

there is a thread here " somewhere " ? (Note 4 forum, sorry can't find link at moment )
Best to find it hidden deep in settings is to use a launcher eg. Nova launcher
i tried to activate it ..Nova launcher /long press home screen /select shortcut /activities ..settings select airview (finger)
etc .
i could only get air browse to work 100%( waving above pictures in stock pictures app etc) and accept air call (by waving hand over stock call screen ( ,see screenshot for info)
but still struglling to sort out air finger to work .!

If you enable ALL the airview tags. Even the one that lists nothing, but still has a toggle switch. Then it does work with your finger, like in the email and message app. However, this stops working as soon as you switch off the screen!? One of the airview tabs causes the settings to crash. I'm sure it's not a hardware issue. Someone will incorporate it all in a sweet rom soon enough. Hopefully indie over at omega rom!

I am sorry to say this, but Samsung removed the self-capacitive touch screen layer from the Galaxy Note 4, because it was used very rarely.
They did not think, that there must be users, that still use this.
Well, power users are only a minority, so they must satisfy minimalists.

The Note 3 was the only one to have three touch screen layers:
Wacom Digitizer (S-Pen)
Normal (Mutual/Multi)-Capacitance
Self-Capacitance (AirTouch)

I'm trying many apps but when i open any bubble level app it isn't calibrated...

In settings there is a point called "Neigung und Steigung kalibrieren (the second point)".
Then put the phone on a flat surface and click "Kalibrieren" (in german
After that, it should be ok...
In this app, you can also calibrate your compass.
Mmmh there are many gps status apps i think i downloaded wrong one... Could you link the right app? Sorry ...

Hi, i had have the same problem and found the solution via google in a chinese forum.
Type *#*#1111#*#* then go to Manual Test - G Sensor Calibration, put your phone on a plane surface (plane to all directions!) and press the the only existing button with chinese signs after calibration press pass and go back to leave Engineer Mode.

I tried this and the answer was: "test failed, please find the soft engineer"
I have cos and rotation does not work.
Any sollution please?

my phone is the same, constantly registering a gforce on the phone. done all the recommended calibrations, but i still get alot of drift in cardboard apps

I have installed CM13 NIGHTLY of 13 June and the problem persists: after wipe the /data partition gyroscope settings have been lost and the dialer don't activate Engineer Mode by typing *#*#1111#*#*. So, in my case, it is no more possible to make panoramic photos using Google Camera.

Hi I have updated to 12.1-YOG4PAS9IG, but the gyroscopic censer is not working at all, and unable to perform screen rotation, it all started suddenly, there was not even a single little shock to the phone till date, never dropped it not even a a small bump, please help me with this prob.

i want to know if there is someone else that have the same bug in title. Since the .057 update (now i have the .058) the gps completely stops to work when i receive or do a call, with the navigator indication that stops and with gray arrow. It returns to work just after closing the call.
I don't know if is related (i think no), but i noticed this problem in car using a bluetooth headphone. I haven't tried without using, but i suppose that the problem is not related to the use of the bluetooth device. I can reproduce the bug with or without the use of bluetooth headphone.
I tried mobile data reset, clear cache and two different gps apps (google maps and waze) but the problem still persists. I've done a factory reset recently, just after the upgrade to Pie.
I'm the only who have this bug? I opened a thread on zentalk (https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-284031-1-1.html), but nobody has replied to me.

I checked in incognito mode the URL and both works for me. What tell to you? Doesn't exists or not available in your region?

I edited the video tag. Can you check now?
In any case, via chrome or tapatalk, i can see the video preview al before. Also opening the thread in chrome via anonymous tab work for me.
