How to activate AirView to work with fingers like on Note 3?
I also miss that feature especially with speed dial. I couldn't find the option anywhere. It seems to be no longer available
It only works with s pen
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA Free mobile app
Yes ok, work only with pen but... It's an hardware limitation or just only software?
Seems like hardware to me. When you 'hack' into the hidden settings and enable air view it still doesn't work.

hi ,
there is a thread here " somewhere " ? (Note 4 forum, sorry can't find link at moment )
Best to find it hidden deep in settings is to use a launcher eg. Nova launcher
i tried to activate it ..Nova launcher /long press home screen /select shortcut /activities ..settings select airview (finger)
etc .
i could only get air browse to work 100%( waving above pictures in stock pictures app etc) and accept air call (by waving hand over stock call screen ( ,see screenshot for info)
but still struglling to sort out air finger to work .!
good luck
If you enable ALL the airview tags. Even the one that lists nothing, but still has a toggle switch. Then it does work with your finger, like in the email and message app. However, this stops working as soon as you switch off the screen!? One of the airview tabs causes the settings to crash. I'm sure it's not a hardware issue. Someone will incorporate it all in a sweet rom soon enough. Hopefully indie over at omega rom!

No Self-Capacitive sensor
Hello.
I am sorry to say this, but Samsung removed the self-capacitive touch screen layer from the Galaxy Note 4, because it was used very rarely.
They did not think, that there must be users, that still use this.
Well, power users are only a minority, so they must satisfy minimalists.
developer[dot]sonymobile[dot]com/knowledge-base/technologies/floating-touch/
As a Junior Member, I am unable to parse links. Please forgive me for this inconvinence
The Note 3 was the only one to have three touch screen layers:
Wacom Digitizer (S-Pen)
Normal (Mutual/Multi)-Capacitance
Self-Capacitance (AirTouch)
I hope this helped (Probably not)

Possible future functionality:
Youtube: comments, annotations( I suspect that this can be done), description etc.
"Save video to sdcard";
RTMP video sources would be nice...(I'm not sure I can do this but will be thinking about ways)
Changes in 0.3a:
11/7/2012 Video transitions much shorter! DONE!
The process for video selection is rather long so I'm having the next video selected while the current video is playing. This cuts down on time between video's in most cases!
11/4/2012 Incorporation of YouTube related video's DONE!
Related video's on a random metric!
11/2/2012 Youtube video quality option. DONE!
This one took a little while. Had do deal with what was available on a case by case basis. Bonus: Revision3 video's obey the quality setting!
11/2/2012 Preserve last video and position for resuming. DONE!
This turned out to be pretty simple too. Just had to store some state info in the db.
This was much easier than I thought it would be!
11/2/2012 Provide "In App" button for settings. DONE!
This was much easier than I thought it would be!
10/25/2012 9 patched the background image for feed items. DONE!
I was hoping that 9 patching the background image would give me a more consistent look across multiple devices in the feed manager. It helped but not nearly as much as I would have hoped.
Changes in 0.2a:
10/16/2012 Stop Moxee from playing while the screen is off. DONE!
There was an issue where if you turned the screen off when Moxee was in a transitional phase, threads that were started before the screen was turned off would cause the app to continue to play videos. Terminating these threads have resolved the issue!
10/15/2012 Toggle fullscreen to access notifications. DONE!
This turned out to be a simple matter of adding and clearing window flags. Now when ever you see the onscreen display, you will have access to the notification bar!
10/15/2012 Worked out a few minor issues.
There was an issue were sources were not seen until they had been updated by the back-end.
Added thumbnails for sources in the feed manager.
There was an issue where if YouTube did not have a "medium" quality mp4 for any particular video it would error off.
Resolved a threading issue where if next was pressed at a particular time, there would be a discontinuity between the titlebar and the actual video playing.
Resolved a threading issue where the titlebar said it was "Loading when in fact it was playing a video.
10/13/2012 Making setting available to those without physical menu button. DONE!
According to the information provided here (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11702831/android-best-way-to-let-user-access-preference-activity) putting a menu option called "Settings" in the menu will cause ICS and above to show the 3 dot soft settings button. We shall see!
Well as it turns out that if you lower your build target(ei gingerbread), ICS (and above) will auto detect and put soft settings button in the action bar. However, lowering the build target caused problems with the latest Google ads jar so I had to revert to a lower version of that, but It's all working now!! I just need to make sure that the ads are really working.

Works fairly well on my Sprint GS3 running 4.1.1.
Main problem, plays after turning the screen off.
Would love to be able to turn to portrait to get access to notifications without stopping the video.
Nice work

Running well on my Xoom (4.1.2).
It would be nice to be able to get to the original source of the video somehow, however I kind of like that you can't as it saves your from becoming distracted and not actually watching anything all the way through. In that respect it really is like watching old analogue TV.
Edit - Menu not available on the Xoom due to the lack of a dedicated (physical) menu button.

Thanks for giving my app a try! I have reproduced that it does play with the screen off and I will be working on that one. I don't think that I'm prepared to allow the app into portrait mode but what I will work on is the option to take it out of full screen mode so users will have access to the notification bar.

Thanks so much for testing on your Xoom! I suspected that the lack of a physical menu button might be a problem. I suppose it would be best to make my own buttons for those functions. When you say, original source of the video, I'm not sure what you mean, but I am considering a "download this video" button for the future and even a "cache these video's overnight" kinda thing...

You're welcome, also tested on my SGSII (CM10 4.1.2) and running fine there too.
When I said original source I meant for example being able to get to a video on YouTube or wherever it originally came from in case someone wanted read the comments or get some background info etc...
Cheers

Very watchable. It's not really any different to the quality it would be on YouTube, obviously some things that were uploaded in a lower resolution may not scale up to the larger screen size so well but I won't hold you responsible for that...
I have a few devices I'll test on for you. All U.S. devices. HTC Sensation 4G, SGS2 T989, Galaxy Note 10.1, and if the app will be compatible I also have a Motorola Charm, Motorola Cliq2, and an older MyTouch 3G. I'll let you know how they all perform though. Thanks for the app, and it's a great idea and piece of software.
Just tested it on an 7 inch tablet. Looks great,
but I only see 3 buttons... Where's the Menu key?

If you 7 inch tablet has Gingerbread then, I think, it should have a hardware menu button. If you 7 inch tablet has honey comb or above there should be a "3 dot" software button in the bottom bar, next to the 3 buttons on the left. If however, your 7 inch tablet has no hardware button and is running gingerbread or below, that is the case where there would be a problem
If this is the case, let me know, and I'll put it on the list for 0.3a :good:
Thanks so much for testing and let me know if there is anything else you notice, or if there is anything that you think would make the experience better!

Hi, I just bought my Galaxy S4 (i9500) yesterday, June 28th.
Since the moment i bought it, I am facing the following issues.
AIR VIEW:
Air View is working while I am watching videos and i want to forward them. But it doesnt work with stock email app, messaging, webpages etc. I tried disabling and re-enabling the air-view and air-gestures, but the problem isnt solved.
Smart Stay/Scroll:
Also, smart stay doesnt work, the video isnt paused when i look away from the screen. Neither does the smart scroll work with webpages.
Please help me with these issues. How can i solve them ? Do i need to change some settings ?
Thanks.

try that
menu-systen setting-my device-accessibility- and put magnification gesture to off
should help for air view
Hit thanks if that help
Thank you. The air view and air gestures are working fine. But the SMART PAUSE feature is still not working. I have enabled it in settings, but cant use it while watching videos.
PLEASE HELP..
I have the same problem. Tried several roms and kernels but no luck. If the smart stay uses the front cam to function which then cam is fully functional, I suspect is software related
Edit: latest Samsung firmware (MGG) fixed all my problems

Hi all,
I've previously purchased the note a few months back, seeking to upgrade from the 1st gen. However, i found the following bugs:
1) stuttering YouTube playback in the YouTube app
2) major lag using ezpdf, when drawing
3) unable to launch mini apps directly but have to open through spen drawing stupid box (i understand this can be solved now through pen window launcher)
4) polaris office 5 does not allow freehand annotatoon of word.doc or ppt, only docx or pptx (can't remember if it's the other way round)
5) using lecture notes app I'm unable to toggle eraser mode using spen button (anybody know if gmd spen control can overcome this by disabling default pen button function?)
6) unable to root it in view of tripping knox and warranty gone (i guess this can't ever be overcome and if anything happens I'll just have to sell it second hand)
These problems were enough for me to sell it away, especially problems one two and four, as I'm a student.
I seek your kind assistance in helping me to check if the problems are solved, as I've received a good offer and contemplating to buy it again.
Thanks in advance for your time

Unless your previous tablet had a defect, what do you think has changed between your first purchase and now? You're better off waiting to see what happens after the 4.4/M-UX update. I'm using an official 4.4 update on my N3 and the performance difference from 4.3 is pretty amazing. Leaks for the N10.1-14's 4.4 update have popped up and M-UX is on some Samsung's sites so it's probably pretty close.
I toggle between eraser and a highlighter depending on if it is one or two clicks of the button with lecture notes. Now if you are talking about holding down the pen button to erase, I can't do that.
Well there might be upgrades or changes to the apps which improved the compatibility with the tablet. And perhaps the problems i faced were unique to my set. Just trying to find out if i should purchase it again and seeking some advice and opinion!

Hi
I rooted the Tab and installed HAL 9000 plus SPEN window manager everything works fine.
The only problem you may solve with another app will be the Polaris annotation issue. Anything else are no prob with this (my configuration).
The Knox counter is obviously set to 01, but this is not a warranty item. Knox is just a security container for people who are using there tab inside a company which also have to pay samsung to have it all working in a safe enviroment.
With wanaman xposed the rest can be set to official which let you use OF A updates if you want to lose your root.
I hoped the helped you.

Sorry but these are not bugs
Ezpdf is a very laggy app, nothing to do with tablet, there's a few much smoother readers
You can root and get quicker ways to open mini apps, it's not a bug it's just the way they designed it
If polarised 5 doesn't have a feature... that's not a fault, there's plenty of office apps that have better and more features
Knox is just Samsung's warranty system, there's always risk to rooting, can't blame samsung for that

YouTube is laggy? Lol. Ok.... anyway, I'm also a student, and this tablet is an indispensable tool for me. I use mantano reader for pdfs and books. Papyrus for note taking. Kingsoft office, polaris office , quickoffice...The list goes on.
Samsung has stated that Knox affects knox. If your tablet has a hardware problem, they will warranty it. I put that to the test by getting an rma for light bleed and a loose speaker grill. I sent it into Samsung rooted knox tripped and running cleanrom. They sent back a brand new tablet in retail packaging.
And really? Lagging in youtube? Are you sure your connected to the internet?.....

Hello, I was wondering if there are some possible evolutions, of any kind that would be possible in order to do anything more with LG G2's Quickwindow.
While it seems to have produced rather mixed reviews, I like it and get feeling from the sole 3 screens available, that there could be a lot of potential to such feature, if only it were open.
Has anyone tried to add watchfaces, or to display notifications (sms/e-mail), to add features (shuffle/repeat) to the music screen, or even to create custom screens? I'd love it if this feature were to be expanded to something more than just a cool way to answer calls...

That seems to be a decent workaround, but it looks very time-consuming; i'll probably wait for a true opening of the the quickwindow app, if it ever comes
Haha I just accidentally found a function. In quickwindow mode push and hold volume down for 3 seconds (it should open camera)

Here is a post on the LG developers forum( click Mobile Forums>General, First post), that shows the code needed to utilize the quickwindow feature. No SDK ever apparently, but this may be helpful. Also posted today is this which shows that QCircle will get an sdk, so maybe we can use that and change the sizing and shape? I am not a developer, just an interested party, so let em know if this helps or not.
hi
im using samsung galaxy note 4.
i know i can take a scrolling screenshot of things with the note 4.
dont know if i can do what i want with the included apps.
im searching for an app that can let me stitch pictures together. For example if i take a scrolling screenshot, i would like to be able to add more picture/screenshot on it later on. Also i would like the app to have a delete funktion, for example if i take a scrolling screenshot of a chat conversation, i would like to be able to delete some parts from that screenshot. Would also be a plus if you can write and mark things on the app.
Is there such a app available ? i have tried to find one but did not success.
also another question. i can use smart select from spen to cut things right ? is there a easy way to merge all the things i cut to one pic ?
