Is Galaxy Grand 2 G7102 capable for USB OTG (On The Go) ??
I have tried different Pen Drives and External Hard Disks (WD My Passport Ultra) through USB OTG Cable but it showed no signs of their attachment or disconnection.
Is it possible to make it work ? I read somewhere that its kernel doesn't support USB OTG.
no bro grand 2 doesnt supports otg..unfortunately..

Hello.
I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3, SM-N9005 Snapdragon version.
I bought USB OTG cable from dx.com, with microUSB 3.0 for S5/Note 3.
When I connect mouse or keyboard, it works.
But when I connect USB flash drive, or external HDD it mounts, but after 3-5 seconds it un-mount.
Is there any way, fix or some xposed module to have it working?
I have rooted my phone and I am running on custom ROM (CRASH ROM v16), based on stock XXUGNG1 PDA, Ultimate Kernel v55.
Thank you for your help.
It won't mount NTFS drives. Try a usb drive on fat32. It will work.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Free mobile app
I faced the same problem when I bought my Otg cable. Here's what I did maybe it helps.
I copied all my flash memory and external hard drives content on my laptop then I formatted them in exFat and it was immediately recognized by the stock rom android 4.4.2 N90005.
I have Samsung galaxy grand 2 and i need use USB OTG android version 4.4.2 how can i use it tried more times and not work
Before I updated to lollipop USB OTG cable was working fine. "USB Connector Connected" show up and then pen drive get mounted and file manager show up.
Now When connecting OTG cable with a usb pen drive, on statusbar "USB Connector Connected" show up. Then nothing comes up.
But when I connect a mouse or/& keyboard it works fine.
I tried the same cable & pen drives on other devices (galaxy S5, Note 2, note 10.1) and it works.
My Device: SM-N9005
Rom right now: audax BOA5
(I updated to leak lollipop first time using ALEXNDR description
With bootloader, modem & Persist partition update).
I have tried different roms, downgraded to kikat & stock roms.
I have tried:
Stock Kernel
Custom kernel
NTFS Mounter
USB OTG Helper
USB sticks of the following configuration
1GB Kingston in FAT32
4GB SanDisk in FAT32
And the problem still the same. No mount and nothing show up in stock file manager or es file explorer.
Any ideas or help are welcome thank you.
Please, anyone knows if it is possible to connect a hard disk drive (1 TB, Toshiba) to N910C without an external power source?
That was possible in Note 3 (N9005). But with the N910C have made several attempts and the hard disk turns on and off intermittently and the connection is lost. It is possible to run this with some ROM or kernel? Or there is a problem of low power delivered to the micro usb port?
Thank you very much in avance!
I have a toshiba 1gb hdd, it uses usb 3.0, the note 3 has it too, the note 4 does not, that may be the reason, but, I tried to use the hdd with my old note 3, it powered it ok, but could not read or write

firstly , Why you want to connect an external HDD to Note 4 ?? , this is a phone , not a PC , in addition to this , by trying to connect an external HDD , without an external power source , may probably damage the , note 4 external usb output , or source , even if you connect an external HDD with a external power source , it will not accessable , unless you format the HDD with a FAT32 or exFAT , because , as i know , (some boady correct me if i am wrong) NTFS doesnt supported by android , also Note 3 may be full compitable with an external HDD without an external power source, because of the benefits of usb 3.0 , but for Note 4 , it will never compitable without connecting an external power source
Hello everyone, i hope i'm in the right section of the forum.
I'm trying to load a Toshiba Canvio Basic via otg with my zenfone2 laser, but it won't start. Can you see the white led and ear the hd start but nothing happend on the phone.
Instead an old Samsung S2 plus, works perfecty (a little slowly), any one knows how and why?
Is there some limitation by lollipop?
ps : the Zenfone2 is stock, the only mod that i've do is the root, same thing on the S2 Plus
Lollipop cant read ntfs partition. Also you should use some externally powered USB hub if you are going to use external HDD.
