you really should add some more information to your question...
what do you basically ask over here?!?

There is an app called Tasker. And I would like to program some automatic tasks to it. For example to automatically turn off wifi and Bluetooth at a specific time and also turn them on on a specific time everyday.

I would recommend watching/reading some Tasker tutorials to get a feeling for the app, then you can ask more detailed questions if you are still unsure how to program something.
It certainly has a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it's quite fantastic!

Best bet is to post in the tasker forums as well. There might be a variable for this.

Yes, the smartstart app only tells the magic black box in the car what to do. You'll still need an interface to translate it to the car.

[Q] Want to change app every 30s for wall mount... function like a chumby

So, the chumby service shutdown recently. It was great for us b/c we had a screen in the kitchen rotating through weather, google calendar agenda for that day, and other useful day to day information. Now it is gone. I would like to setup my Nex7 to do this. I've googled around for something like this, but no luck.
All it has to do is activate a different app from a list of selected apps and then 30s activate the next app in the list.
I'm sure this could be accomplished with an automation app such as tasker/automatit/llama. If that is what it takes I'll go down that path, but I'm hoping something already exists.
Thanks

I have never heard of chumby but I bet that is possible. I can't find any know app that do that and a tasker sounds like a possibility. maybe you could look through the forums to see if someone has made that but hasn't put it on the play store.

Voice controlled TV Remote?

I've done a good amount of searching but can't seem to find a app that I could control my TV through voice. Has any one else found/looked for this feature. I tried Utter! But couldn't get deep enough into the remote app I'm using to run a macro. I also sorta tried Tasker but i m still learning it. If it can be done with tasker then the Utter plugin should work. I just upgraded to s4 from s3 yesterday and I've tried since then to find this but I need a little help. Thanks.

Are you talking about using it from voice through the IR blaster? Are you on stock ROM?
I wouldn't think there's a way to do this from tasker via Utter, there's no profile setup I can think of that would make sense.

Back in the day I had an Archos 5 and I was able to say 6-2-0 and it would go to channel 620. That was Android 1.4 ish. I figured there would be something similiar but better nowadays. I was hoping with Utter that the custom commands would let me run one of the macros but it could only bring up the macro menu. There are quite a few remote apps to chose from but I didnt see any with custom voice commands but thats OK. With tasker I have no idea(yet) how I would go about doing that. Maybe activate a widget if thats possible. Just a thought without proper knowledge. I am on Stock-Alpha Rom. Thanks.

Just a question?

hi to all, it's my first time to be here! me and a friend of mine have joined a small competition that require for participating -of cours- to develop an android app! also we are a newbies in java developement and it's our first experience in android world, so my question is: is there a java or linux or c++ code that can power on an android device at a specific time? I googled a lot of time and i didn't got an answer. Please any suggestion or help? And sorry foy my bad english.
No definitely not!*
Because, you're app is only running if android has booted, so there is now way for your app.
The build-in Clock-App can't do it, too!
The only think you can do is, to unlock a booted phone.
Regards
-----
*There could maybe a way, for a specific phone, which has the hardware, which is needed and a SDK for developers for that hardware. But I don't know anyone.
Thanks for the replay. You speaked about the build-in clock app can't do it? it's indeed a reality! But why? unlike the android phone, when you set the alarm clock app in a Nokia phone and you shutdown the device.. the app is able to power on and boot the os!! So why it's not possible on android! is it something related to android architectur (layers)? maybe the hardware? can someone give me an explanation please.
Yes, I suppose you'll need specific hardware support. If the phone is really off, there needs to be some kind of timer that is still running, which can turn the phone on, so it can boot again, and then run some app for the alarm or whatnot.
Apparently Blackberry phones support it too, perhaps others as well, but it's not a common feature on Android phones.
Thanks you for the info.

there are many apps available on play store search and get it all working ....
Have a nice day
I dont know how to but its possible in Android because if you got to Settings --> Accessibility --> There is an option to turn on and off the device... So there must be a turn around for the same...
I also have a similar kind of Idea for my next app but dont know how to run my app when the phone is off or how to switch it on...
Maybe in rooted devices...Please let me know if you get anything similar.
Thanks

[Q] Looking for an app that notifies when 4G active

Hi,
I'm looking for an App that tells me when my phone has switched to 4G. Ideally notifying me with a sound of my choosing.
I've looked at Tasker and AutomateIt, but both seem overly complicated for the sake of one task. A bit like using Photoshop just to resize a picture.
Does anyone know if one exists? Or failing that, a simple way to get Tasker or AutomateIt to do it?
I'm using a LTE S4.
Many thanks! :good:

EDIT: I've bit the bullet and splashed out 50p on this;
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tt.fourgnotification&hl=en
So far so good, but it is very basic with no option of changing vibration type etc.
I would still be interested to see if there is a more sophisticated way to do this.
