[Q] Power Button Problem - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I just notice when I update the firmware to NF4, the power button of my note 3 has a problem.
Here is the scenario.
I turned off the phone, remove the battery then insert it back. Trying to turn on or boot my phone using the power button but no matter how I try to press still no luck. When I charge the phone, of course the battery icon is in display. I press the power button then that's the time it boots.
Anyone been experience like this? What is the solution? I already tried to reformat the phone but still the problem is there.
Thank you for the help. Thanks.

weird power button operation-g3 wiz

Hi guys, I hope I can type this coherently.
I have a g3 wizard that I have flashed many times over the last year or so. Lately the power button has stopped working. I can get the phone to turn on by plugging it in, and then holding in the camera/voice buttons and THEN hitting the power button. It goes into the rainbow screen, and I just soft reset via the hole on the side. At that point it is on and running fine, but the power button does nothing.
The power button does nothing at all unless I plug the phone in, and then only if I go to bootloader. It seems to work just fine to do that-which is what is stumping me. I thought the button was just broken. The charge/battery lights do come on.
For now I have it set to never turn off, so I try to make sure it doesn't run too low. The battery life seems ok. Any tips? I want to be able to put the phone to sleep again...
thanks

Power Button Doesn't Work

I was using my phone today, and now all of a sudden, the power button is completely non functional, and every 10 seconds, I get a "Do you want to power off" prompt on my phone as if the power button was being continuously pressed, but it is not. What could have gone wrong?
Any Luck?
I currently have the exact same issue. I lost my phone, and the person who found it returned it. Eversince then the power button doesn't work and I get the same warning.
After lots of hard resets and a new ROM flash, I was good to go.

[Q] samsung s7390 went black then white then dead

I have a Samsung GT-S7390 phone. And now it seams dead. This is what happened.
I was using Google play to install Badoo and suddenly the screen went black and then gradually turned to completely white. It was unresponsive. No reaction on holding power button, or home button for a short or long time.
I didn't know how to turn it off and I didn't know a combination for a reset. So I pressed power, home and volume down buttons at the same time. The phone turned off and since then it is dead.
I tried to take out the battery for some time, take out sim card, tried all the combinations of buttons and did nothing. It is dead.
Does anyone knows what might happen to it?
Any answer is better then no answer. Please help.
Thanks!

Power button problem

Hi all,
I have accident on sea where one wave splashed a bag where my phone was. After small problems with "laggy" buttons everything went fine and my phone worked correctly except power button. It doesn't react. I couldn't even restart the phone. And when my battery was used I coudnt turn it on. I tried to press volume up + power button million times, or all 4 buttons, and somehow I manage to turn it on again while still I was on vacation. Few times I have entered Android recovery screen, and Power button worked perfectly there (I managed to press power button and select reboot device). And after the phone turn on power button would usually works few minutes and then it would died again.
I have installed software for simulation of power button and it worked ok. This morning somehow I decided to turn off my phone, and I couldn't even imagine what kind of problems I will have to turn it on again. Whole day I am trying to turn it on, but it doesn't react. When I pull in charger then it shows regularly battery status (70%). I am desperate :crying:
I am trying to google or find any solution how to bring it ON again without power button, but without success
Is there any way how could I turn Samsung galaxy S6 Edge Plus without power button?
And what you think, is this some kind of software problem, and maybe some factory reset or flashing might help? Or it is more likely hardware problem?
Many thanks in advance.
Can anyone help me?
I have just found this article which might help me:
How to turn ON Galaxy S6 without using the power button:
When the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge is turned off, press and hold the volume button for a few seconds.
While holding the volume button, connect the Galaxy to a computer using a USB cable.
Wait for your phone to boot to Download mode.
Then press down on the volume rocker to cancel the operation.
After the operation has canceled, the Galaxy will reboot and turn on.
You have successfully turned on the Galaxy S6 without using the power button.

But somehow this doesn't work for my phone? First I wasnt sure which volume button should be pressed, so I tried with both in all combinations and still cant get into Download mode.
But I am glad that samsung had created some workaround if power button is not working. THis used to work on older models I guess.
Is there anyone who might know the way how to turn on phone without power button?

[HELP] Samsung S4 i9505 booting when battery is inserted

Hi, I'm new here and I need help with my S4, i already read some of the threads that might help me but no luck. My S4 boots on its own when I insert its battery, I don't press the power button. So, I thought that the issue was my power button, but when I opened my phone, it doesn't, because I can still feel the click when I press the power button, and tried to insert again the battery without the back frame, but it is still booting on its own. What do you think its problem? Thanks.
It's the power button or its circuit. The click doesn't matter here.
The phone should NOT boot by itself when the battery is inserted, it should ONLY boot WHEN the power button is pressed. In conclusion, it must be the power button.
This happened to one of my s4. Its was the power button. I ended up changing out the power button and it works perfectly now.
