Does it work with phones locked to a operator.
Can I flash any other ROM for unlocked phones?
I've flashed kdz files twice now but it strikes me that I'm relying on the files being the correct one. How can I tell if I have the 16gb or 32gb version ?
Maybe I didn't explained me the right way.
Is there any problem to flash, this way, a ROM for SIM unlocked G3 on a SIM locked G3?

The D855 will juts connect to any of the following - LTE 700 / 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600, its not been built to allow you to switch between them.

Hey guys,
I am new to LG devices.
Does this also work on branded devices (G3 16GB vodafone branding)?
Thanks in advance.
should do, you might loose Vodafone boot-screen or any Vodafone bloat.... neither of which are bad
as long as you have a D855 16GB UK G3 you should be fine

Hi evryone.
Recently I came across this guide, and it worked fine for me.
So I wrote a tool that basically does the same thing, just make things easier.
This method should work on any LG G3 official firmware (4.x.x / 5.x.x), and on other models too.
Please leave your feedback if it worked for you, and indicate whether you used the graphical user interface or the old script.
And if it's didn't worked, please attach here the log from the window.
Notes
I saw a lot of questions of G3 users about how to install Twrp after the root, so I will explain briefly:
For now, if you are on stock lollipop you can't just flash Twrp via flashify etc like the old days in KitKat, but you can follow this guide over here.
After the root, if you want for some reason (warranty etc) to unroot the phone, all you need to do is a full unroot from the SuperSU settings.
I don't know if this is enough to get OTA updates back, I'm still waiting for somebody else to answer this question. so please don't ask me about this any more because I really don't know the answer.
Devices confirmed working with this method (If your device isn't listed it's most likely still supported)

LG G3 Beat
LG G2
LG G2 Mini
LG G Pro 2
LG G Pad

Thanks to @sugaritos for letting us know about KDZ

Perfect - it all worked a treat! Many thanks!!!
However, in my haste, I didn't switch off the V500 and set it to "download mode" - but the flash updater does this for you. Also, there's no need to hard reset once flashed - just have patience and wait (and wait) for the tab to complete its background tasks while the static LG logo is displayed (with the occasional "light reflection" animation on the red sphere every now and again...) After a (long) while, the "optimising apps" box is displayed (changing all of the Dalvik runtimes to ART?) and finally gives you reassuring progress feedback as all of your installed apps are processed.
And eventually - voila, Android Lollipop 5.0.2 (English) on the LG G Pad 8.3 (V500) with all my original data and apps still intact!
Thanks again!

The Brazilian G Pad 8.3 community in G+ has been flashing without hiccups. And they came to the conclusion.... A V500 is a V500. Double check your model. If it is V500, flash without fear. Works flawlessly.
BUT, if you are rooted, only CSE Flash and/or hard reset before/after flash will do the trick, which means you lose all your data, so backup first.
Personally, I will skip update 'till a method to upgrade and/or root which doesn't wipe my data is out, I'm not in the mood of backup/restore my stuff - past experiences have not been good and some data were lost forever.
Tnx for the KDZ, but i come in to problem.

If you have unlocked vs980 and having data issues with TMO network...
When i flashed the Rom for the first-time,
Setup wizard On the wifi network scaning page i entered my network details..and setup the phone..when turned the wifi off..there was no data.also the fast.tmobile.com apn was not installed . then i tried few things like flashing different radio, apn to get the data work but no luck.got bootloops(my fault)
Next time i flashed the rom again and did not enter wifi details on the setup screen and just let the phone force data settings ..data worked flawlessly.
I modified below build.prop entries as well..
ro.carrier=TMO
ro.build.target_operator=TMO
persist.service.crash.enable=1

Do the factory reset
1)Switch off the phone by holding power button for 10 to 15 seconds.
2) while holding the vol down button, press power button and release it when you see lg logo hold the power button..
3)follow the instructions to factory reset.

I see some users got this working on d803 after installing the simple ROM patch. Which variant did you choose in Aroma when flashing the ROM?
Is ringtone id present? (google "ringtone id lg g4")
Thanks
I saw couple of posts with bootloop issue and yes you can fix it easily. Download package from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/d802-bootloader-changer-1-1-jb-kk-lp-t3104380 and install lollipop bootloader (This is offficial one and the partions scheme that Cloudyfa mentioned in point 1 of intruction set is addressed) and then try to install the rom post factory reset. You should be all set then.
How to solve slow charging?

Did you get it to work on the D800 and if so, what did you do to get rid of the bootloop? I'm on Cloudyg2 3.0 with the patch which allows D800 to function.

No, I just restored my previous backup to get out of bootloop on my D800. Not sure what to do now... I don't want to go back to stock and take that painful route ;(
I tried KK bootloader, LP bootloader and nothing seems to work.

my phone cant connect my pc
pc cant detect my use
Unfortunately mine was d802 Intl and didn't get hands on any other devices. The other workaround would be trying http://blastagator.ddns.net/bootloader.php the D80030F section.

The KDZ file that I pulled when I update my H815-TWN device
Thanks, can't help but feel like this is a little redundant though. Can easily update via LG Bridge without the need to connect to a unknown (to me) Russian file share site.

nop not redundant just that you dont like Russian thats all and thats totally fine, cant force people to like each other.
from South Africa and other parts of the world this is very useful as LG Bridge does not have it. also this is a community so anyone can do whatever within rules they want and the rest can ignore or thank but it is never redundant. its a backup of some file at mega or gdrive or devhost etc etc
thanks dude, this is what i need
Thanks for this.. Lg pulled the update from lg bridge so its always good someone is sharing it.. Ive upgraded to MM using the file and absolutely love it.. Dont really have a big problem with battery life

ANy mirrors for this? That download site is truly awful. it's going to take 24 hours to download

LGUP is only for flashing files that you already downloaded, it won't help.
I suggest you download the kdz from the OP and flash that. The MM update for the TWN device was pulled by LG soon after it was released, so it won't show up in LG Bridge.

when do you guys think we could have root on mm 6.0 twn?
aslo how's the battery life? is it that horrible?!
It won't happen without unlocked bootloader. Which won't happen.

I find battery to be excellent. Of course each users individual determining factor will be in how they use their device.
The best you can do is try and find out for yourself:good:
ok so if I setup 6.0 and I don't like it, can I go back to 5.1 with a 5.1 kdz file a 5.1 rootedsystem.img ?
