It's good to know that you found it, now how about sharing what you've found with the rest of us? That's kinda the point of these forums!

I haven't found any one click root options for the a500 on ICS yet. Would be nice to know if there is one.

It was originally done for the leak but [reading on to around apr 21st [page 9]] it might work for OTA. If anyone tries it, post back.

So how is it?

I know these types of threads are kind of a no no. But I just want some rooted users experiences. I have watched way to many reviews and am always left wanting more. So how is the nexus 7? Was it everything you expected? Any defects I should look at when I first get it? Thanks.

Depends what you want from it. Watched seven hours of movies on my bus ride yesterday. Definitely worked great for that.

To be honest, just a toy. Something I can use around the house or whenever I go anywhere and don't want to carry my laptop. Also for magazines books and so on and so forth. I don't think it's bad for around ~260 need the 16gb since I have 4+ gbs alone in music. Also would be nice to use rather than my nexus for gaming and video etc.

better than expected, much. gaming is an awesome experience on it, web browsing is very natural(but not chrome, the android browser), batter life blows everything away, and then theres its performance..

It's great. I don't personally own one but someone in my family does and it's a nice little tablet. Only problem he had was he couldn't watch flash videos online but I solved that by installing a Flash .apk file and installing Firefox as the browser. Gaming is epic due to it's quad core.

flash plays fine on the android browser too, included with aosp, not with stock(chrome).

Well should have the means to purchase it next month. Hopefully nothing comes up. Can't wait to see what it's all about. How about some of the ROM's and kernels? Not asking your combos just how are they.

Not sure how long it will last, there is no way to tell. Just get it when you can as soon as you can. If you get them, awesome. If not, you got it as early as you could, so you couldn't have gotten it anyways.

Lol, no the only threads I bash are the ones comparing other phones to the gnex. Especially when there is a dedicated thread for it. And now I don't even bother I just report it to be locked. Ah once again.... Good day.

I honestly couldn't be happier. It is the fastest and smoothest tablet I have ever used, even moreso than the ipad. Finally Android has matured to that level... or the hardware has gotten to where it needs to be
I'll tell ya, the best thing about this tablet is the size. I used to be very down on the 7 inch form factor, but there is something special about it that makes me want to use this thing WAY more than my transformer.
Love this tablet.. can't believe it was only 250$

Lol I laughed at this. When I saw this thread I was like, "noooo this can't be him." Well it was. Lol
Anyways, I wanna know(not trying to steal your thunder ÜBER™, just don't want to start a similar thread here) how strong development is already here. I know it'll get stronger. But what do we have as of now??? Because I want to buy a 16GB N7 too and root it out of the box, but I want to be able to pick from a variety.
I'm also worried about that I'm going to get bored of this device since I have a GNexus. I'm on the same boat as ÜBER™ as turning it into a toy. I also wants this for it's leathery feel(IMO), THE PRICE!!!!! and back pocket friendly design.

I just got mines last night and I cant put it down lol. This is the first tablet ive owned and its the perfect size to me. If only it had a sd card slot. It truly is the perfect companion to carry around. Two thumbs up!!

[Q] Help. Going back from ICS to HC

Hello, can't find an answer for this problem. Can anyone help. I have a lot of problems with ICS on Toshiba Thrive, can someone give me a tutorial how to go back to Honeycomb. I searched everywhere, but can't find nothing useful.

I could use some help as well. I just want to be able to root and install the new CM10 Rom that is out there. The OTA ICS update has made my tablet almost unusable. Anything you can do will be appreciated.

If you know where the development is for that cm10 ROM then look there for your answer. As it goes off xda I won't mention it here.

If you're on hc still you can use any of the pre rooted ics roms as well as cm10 if you want.

dalepl JUST finished up with my Thrive getting me back to HC. It took about 15 mintues.
He's awesome. I can't beleive he takes time out of his own day to do this for people.

Because the tools involved are dangerous and cause permanent damage to the emmc, the method isn't especially difficult, but the tools are just to dangerous to let loose.
So a guide can be done up, but without the tools available to everyone its kind of pointless lol

Gb kernel port

I've always been around, just not aa much as id like.
But, I've been working on a few things, its hard to only dev for an hour here or there.
I'm now in talks (pm) with djp952 (fascinate dev) and he is helping me figure out patching i500 sources with our froyo patch. Also his geewhiz recovery should work with our phone just got to pack it with kernel. I'm always behind on homework, I'm a 32 yearold step grampa who is hella stressed, but android inards relieve most of that
Just an update.
I have a hacked kernel, was looking to try and get custom boots and ext4 working through modules booting from sdcard to maybe be able to boot dif roms (cm7?)

Like I said before. I'm happy to test for you on my old continuum. Just hit me up and we can have a chat and get me all set up to do any testing when your ready. I can't imagine how hard it is to go to school and still have time to dev. School is like having a full time occupation.

Any new news going on with this?

Not really I've diff-ed all the sources and am still waiting on help from fascinate dev. He hasn't been back to me since I posted this.
I had to withdrawl from my classes because my homelife is so frusterating. I'm raising my step grandson and trying to get his mom housing so I can breath lol.
I do however have a kernel that I repacked with init.d support, and looking for another way for ext4 mount using modules outside of kernel to boot ported roms.
I will post it tonight hopefully.

So my wife misplaced my 2 continuums. I've been looking for them for about 10 days. Now I would be only able to post my stuff for anyone to help beta, so not for everyday devices.

I have sinced moved on and only use my Continuum as a minitablet, media device. So whatever you needed tested I'm in.

are both your devices on eg04? deodexed? rooted etc?
ill start with my repacked kernel, it should have working init.d and bootanimations.
the kernel port is really on the back burner unless i get ahold of i500 dev (he got a new job and is expecting his first child), he has been very busy.

Mine is on froyo 2.2 just get me to 2.3.3 because I don't remember how to do that and then I can root and flash the deodexed rom and get root going. I'm not home at the moment but I will be tomorrow night and will be glad to help out then.
