Replace onboard storage chip - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I came across this post on a different webpage. Wondering if XDA community is more knowledgeable about this topic:

You would need to repartition the whole NAND Flash Memory then.

You've got to give the guy some credit for the idea. Maybe someone in XDA wants to donate a damaged phone to give it a try

all i thought up was an idea of what an xda phone would be like. i thought i leave it to you guys to get the specs. being xda is developers and all i thought it would be beyond cutting edge... perhaps mixing the google glasses into the thing. or maybe some high end cpu.... perhaps it would play playstation games...
PS games? seriously? this thread is getting a lot more fun, haahahaha

[Bounty] Adamoutler Unlock bootloader

Sorry for Confusion. Bounty Fully met. Thanks anonymous donator.
#update1 Adam pulled files from me yesterday he said he wanted to try something. Also he has ordered his device.
#update2 Adam's work can be followed on this page.
So, the man is not only being offered $1400 for his skills if he can pull this off, but also being handed the device to do it? Sounds like win/win. Count me in when I get home. Chipin is failing on my phone.

If i get any money from this, I'll put it to good use. XDA could use some funding for T-Shirts and other promotial items to give away at the Big Android BBQ and I'm sure there are other good causes. I'm speaking at the Big Android BBQ so that's the first thing that comes to mind. Regardless, you can expect it go go to a good cause.

Saw that, I was merely referring to the fact that the current bounty for a bootloader unlock is ~1400 and the community is pitching in to get him the device to do it with, so it's a win for everyone.

That's an amazing gesture. Something a lot could not say. Don't misinterpret what I was saying, though. Only because I'm sitting at the airport with nothing to do lol.
I'll shorten it.
So ten or so years ago, I was pretty into the N64 game “Jet Force Gemini," and those stupid little elf things you had to save would get in the way of everything... so I decided it would just be easier to kill them and collect their heads instead lol.
Anyway, I was playing with my buddy once and those elf things were everywhere in this one part, so needless to say it was pretty much a bloodbath. He made the comment that we were “elf haters" in jest.
That same day I decided I would finally make the leap AIM, and I couldn't think of a name. My friend helped me make the account, and he suggested “elfhater." The name's stuck ever since.
That, plus I'm Jewish, and when one of my other friends pointed out that connection to me a few years ago, I couldn't get rid of the name because it made me laugh too much.
Don't expect me to ever write that on XDA again lol

Has anyone been able to enter Service Programming with the GS3? Mine shows up in QPST, but not in full detail like GS1/GS2.
I've tried builds 362 and 366.
I've tried build 378 as well... Service Programming doesn't show up on it either, but it EFS explorer works. Latest build is 385, I wonder if it'll show up there.

Because the tools involved are dangerous and cause permanent damage to the emmc, the method isn't especially difficult, but the tools are just to dangerous to let loose.
So a guide can be done up, but without the tools available to everyone its kind of pointless lol
