Hi guys. I've been looking for an untouched version of 4.3 Google Edition to use on my i9505, but all ROMs available on Android Development have some sort of modification to it. Some are deodexed, others have 3-way reboot, others remove google and samsung stuff. I really wanted a version completely stock, no root, no deodex, nothing...... just pure.
I have no idea how to make my own flashable zip though. If I did I would have done it for myself.
If you guys can teach me or (even better) make one for me, I would be very much appreciated. :fingers-crossed:
I'm sure other people want this too.
Theres one in the AT&T forum already. use that one.

Yes this is for Locked Bootloaders! But on Verizon only!! Yes 100% working ROM with root safestrap and write protect OFF!
You must be on or revert back to 4.2.2, root it with RockMyMoto, then run MotoWpNoMo, then install safestrap or do the same with 4.4 first... Then follow KrYpToNiTe's guide here http://rootzwiki.com/topic/116025-romsafestrapxt1060-stock-rooted-vzw-164552-kitkat-442/
PS. If you have 4.4, rsd back to 4.2.2 AND IF...you updated to 4.4.2 you might be out of luck sorry.
Thanks to KrYpToNiTe for this wonderful work as thanks as well to: jcase for root, Hashcode for safestrap and beups and fuses for MotoWpNoMo.
This isn't rooted 4.4.2, this is a Safestrap ROM. Unless I'm missing something here?

Ok however you may want to call it, this method gives locked bootloader Verizon phones stock 4.4.2 Rooted with wp off. It is the same exact thing as if you had updated ota then ran the exploits...it just came out like 2 days ago, and it helps people that been wanting to upgrade from 4.4 without loosing the goodies. And no its not just a ROM its a guide because you must run several steps besides just flashing the ROM.
Pretty misleading thread title. This is just a 4.4.2 rooted Safestrap ROM, not a root method for current 4.4.2 users.
I was disappointed to learn this wasn't a root method and rather just a safestrap rom that I was already aware of. I would suggest changing the thread title or removing the thread altogether.
I guarantee all you guys with this negativity either have an unlocked bootloader or aren't even on Verizon, the title is as is because this is the only way so far to have 4.4.2 with root and WP off Stock OTA working and stable as of right now. If you had a locked VZW you would be happy no matter the title, all u guys that got it made are irrelevant to this thread and stay off... I will change the title upon XDA requesting it...Not everyone has DE motos like y'all..One thing though mine is customized with the colors I like and chose, from the body to the buttons and camera ring I even have a slogan on the back and Im on VZW unlimited everything with tethering! I use about 13 gigs of LTE a month..So beautiful...I'm not stuck with that ugly black front and white back with silver buttons..What is that??? Pshhh... It's alright though its not your fault blame Motorola.
PS you guys with those ugly Motos kill me with your reveal or clear cases...your back is WHITE! BRO...lol you don't got it like us Moto Maker fellas stop it!! No swag

I'm actually a locked bootloader verizon variant. Still think this thread is dumb.
Not sure where the hostility is coming from. Thread title seems pretty straightforward to me. The RootzWiki thread flacco40 linked to allows those people on non-dev Moto Xs still running 4.2.2 or 4.4 to update to 4.4.2, without updating the bootloader, thereby retaining root and the ability to keep write protection disabled. I used it myself to allow my motomaker phone to run the newest 4.4.2 version of Eclipse ROM.
Not working on XT1058, because not flashing kernel:crying:
But Eclipse rom v3.1.2 working on XT1058
WHY???

No offense but this is why I didn't post the ROM here because of questions like this, but I will explain it to you now that I have enough posts to reply!
First reason why it doesn't work for you is the thread title says VZW only that means XT1060 not XT1058. Second reason is Eclipse v3.1.2 is 4.4 base, not 4.4.2 like the thread title says, Eclipse v3.2+ is 4.4.2.
I will be making a version for the XT1058 once the sbf is released and a tester confirms it works.

I stand corrected, I originally titled it wrong which even that title was not saying that you can OTA to 4.4.2 then root, on the contrary I've always been saying that you should not take the ota, but I did word it incorrectly but fixed it. Although this thread is in RootzWiki no one bothered to post it on this website and I did trying to help and people started bashing me. Lol
The part that sucks is OP made a post on XDA with zero original content, referencing someone elses post on Rootzwiki who specifically asked it not be posted here. TLDR, OP is trying to gain credit for zero work. Thanks for making a thread linking to someone elses work and passing it off as your own, OP.

Nah man the OP did what I asked on rootzwiki and that was to link them to that thread. Makes it easier to manage problems that arise, and I didn't have enough post until today to post in this section.
@flacco40 you really should clean up the op to reference the latest and most accurate instructions. There is no need to RSD back to 4.2.2.

I am currently running a Google Play Edition ROM on my AT&T GS4. I am happy with it. However I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Gear watch that does not work with Google Play Edition. So I am looking for the Samsung KitKat stock ROM for AT&T, rooted and unlocked. There are plenty of custom ROMS that I could try, but I usually have a very strong preference for stock ROMs.
Can anybody point me in the right direction? I did see the post for SHOStock ROM. That comes pretty close. I was hoping to get something closer to stock than that ROM.
Thanks.

I've searched and searched and all I could find are posts and articles claiming the Google Play Edition will have official Lollipop support but not a single thing for the v500.
Has LG abandoned this tablet? What's the latest news on this? Is there even an official 4.4.4?
I've been using CM11 so I'm a bit out of the loop on stock firmware but I've been wanting to go back to stock hoping Lollipop would come out.
Only lg knows if an official lollipop ever comes. And no, there is no official 4.4.4.
I am on aosp lollipop since December and it's great.
I keep hoping and periodically emailing LG USA to say "any word?" If you have not emailed them please do. My hopes are starting to wane... I love the tablet but no official lollipop would stink.
Did the GPE get official Lollipop?
Is it possible to flash the GPE ROM on to the V500?
Is this being done already with any success?
I am tempted to pick one up new at 229.
Is there a better idea out there?
Do I need to learn how to use search better?
Please feel free to answer any or all of these questions, or even criticize my unnecessary line breaks.

Since the G-Pad Software was very similar to the G2. I wouldn't give up hope (or applying gentle pressure to LG support) for a lollipop update just yet...

1. Probably, but that doesn't matter
2. No
3. No, obviously
4. Okay, then buy one
5. For getting Lollipop on the V500 with the ability to use things such as the IR sensor as a remote control? No.
7. Sure. Google how to Google better
Anything else?
I am running Infected's CM12 on my G Pad. It's really nice.
In the AOSP and CM 12 the battery life and the performance is the same of the stock 4.4.2?

Id say even better. Official cm12.
Official CM 12 nightly here... everything ok.
Only bluetooth that at every reboot misses my keyboard, but battery life is ok & great.
Performance: great cpu performance, less on gpu (proprietery blobs do it better) ...... some games like sim city have slow downs....
Benchmarks confirm... great CPU + VM performance, but less points with GPU.
But with that adreno drivers the performance of GPU cannot be paired with the stock?
are we ever gonna get this? been over 4 months on gpe.
I believe so, if the G2 got it than we sure are gonna get it.

That's great, that means that LG has already worked on lollipop for v500 and already has the source code. Soon we'll have the official update.

They should have! Since the memory leak was a pita on 5.0.2 Nexus5. I'm on a custom 5.1 rom with no more leaks...
has anyone tried installing this? is it even possible?
so i was planning on doing this today, but then obviously when 6.0 comes out i can't take the OTA because of custom recovery so I'd have to wait for someone to make a flashable rom.
so what's everyone else doing? should I root now and enjoy it, or wait for 6.0 then root? no timetable from moto yet

I'm waiting but mainly cuz I like this phone stock and I'm in no rush. Also I don't want to set everything back up so I will let marshmallow back it all up for me
You can always flash the stock ROM and take the OTA or wait a short time for a flashable version.

nah i know, like i do with my nexus 7 (haven't touched stock android in a while since my note 4 and samsung tabs, so i really don't remember)
so you guys think there's gonna be some good dev to atleast get a flashable 6.0 out? might as well just do it. just wanted to see the general opinion
I would do it now. Unlocking the boot loader will wipe your phone. Like someone said above a flashable zip should be available soon after the OTA touches down.

sweet. alrgiht just did it! woo rooty goodness.
I wonder when we will get marshmallow ota or rom based. Seems like zero development on this device which kind of sucks. I just want some omni or beanstalk. Not sure if the dev area is waiting on source or how a that works but I figured by now we'd have something to flash.

Good to hear, not bashing devs cuz I know I sure can't make a rom and appreciate the hard work that goes into it. I figured it was a source reason. Is that something moto needs to release or someone has to snag from the devices. I haven't flashed anything since the note 2 was release so just a little over eager I guess that and hearing people say devs might not be super keen here with the nexus coming soon.
LOL @ "zero development". This phone hasn't even been available for 3 weeks yet. If you ordered one on day one, you were lucky to get one 2 weeks ago.
