[Q] Odin back to stock - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I've got to Odin my phone back to stock.
Currently, It's running NC2 4.4 - Jasmine ROM 2.0.
What firmware do I need to download to Odin it back to stock.
The MJE 4.3 or NC4 4.4?

You could have put this in your other thread, the firmware will automatically be installed when you install MJE.

You need MJE unless you want to go to NC4?

Just use odin the flash the new mk2 files, no need to go back to stock.

MJ7 to MJE help

Hi, already rooted, and have been running cleanrom on my MJ7 N3 for awhile now, and I see that many of the newer roms require MJE.
What would be the easist way to update to MJE, and could I just flash a MJE rom anyways?
(also I have deleted the stock rom for more space, worst case I'll odin back to stock, just wondering if there is a faster way than going back to stock, updating, then installing another custom rom.)

You CAN flash MJE roms but you'll likely have wifi and signal issues. SOme have done it and worked around the issues.
Use Odin to flash MJE tar is best way to get to MJE. If Kingo is still slow, use Vroot.
For any help or links, check Note 3 link in my sig

The results are kinda split on this. Some have said they survived OTA and many have said they lost root and had to Odin MJE anyway.
I usually tell folks to just Odin MJE and that way you only have to flash MJE ONCE

[Q] Eclipse Install Question

I'm running NC2 on my kingo rooted Verizon Note 3 and would like to install the Eclipse (kitkat). One of the installation videos states that the phone must be on NC2 or NC4. I have flashed the MJE radio and now my build number shows MJE. Do I need to flash the NC2 or NC4 radio before I proceed with the Eclipse install? Thanks.

If you have gone through thge process in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2787627 Then yes, you should be fine, Just be sure to install it on a seperate rom slot then stock, just to maintain a clean stock install. The roms you install in the extra rom slots do not harm the main slot, so you can modifie your roms and if you break it, you can always revert back to main slot.

You can be on whatever baseband you want. But you absolutely must be on the nc2 firmware or the NC4 firmware and flash the NC2 kernel before flashing Eclipse kitkat 2.0.1

To chime in further, is you took the NC4 OTA on the retail note 3 you're stuck on NC4. Alot of us took the NC2 leak which left some holes for us as being able to downgrade back to MJE 4.3 but on the NC2 leak if we reboot to recovery your phone will bootloop and on NC4 it won't. The unified firmware gives you the option for NC4 firmware without taking the NC4 OTA if you're on MJE/NC2 and you can still downgrade to MJE if you'd like. Hope that helps you some. I might be missing a few details as I'm just a user and not a developer.

Can you flash a 4.4.2 rom on a 4.4.4 device?

I know you can't flash a 4.4.4 rom on a 4.4.2 device, but does it work backwards? I'd like to check out the ShoStock rom. I'm currently unrooting my phone due to me messing it up - so I am using odin to take it back to NB1. I'm wondering if I take the 4.4.4 OTA update, can I still flash Shostock's rom which is based on 4.4.2?
Thanks!

Yes you can, you just need to flash the correct module for the rom you install.
