Pull the battery out then put back in the hold power down home that will get you into download mode again then install philz recovery cmw make sure it's jb or kk what ever firmware you have
You need to keep trying to access dl mode. It will eventually work. Theres no way you could have erased that feature. Hold vol down and home. Then push and hold power. Make sure the device is off when you do so. I imagine you flashed the wrong recovery which would be why your device is not booting into recovery. Which version of android are you on and which recovery version you flash

Thanks guys I've been away for a while but pulling the battery then trying to access dl mode worked after a few trys so I re-flashed the 4.4.2 stock UK firmware and it solved my issue. I'm now going to try and find the correct recovery.
Thanks for your help guys I really thought I had got myself stuck there

[Q] Bad Recovery?

I have been using CWM recovery but wanted to go back to TWRP so I downloaded TWRP manager and went through the install procedure but my phone got stuck in the logo screen with Recovery Booting... in small blue letters in the upper left of the screen. But it never loads to the recovery. I need to put it in download mode then cancel out of it in order to get it to boot normally.

Exact same thing happened to my recovery awhile back. The TWRP manager has never worked for me and always ended up messing up my recovery. Use odin to flash a custom recovery back on to it.

edit-
I got past, I can flash recoveries now, but after all has been done, cyanogen recovery pops up again.. I've turned off the recovery update in dev options.

Tried Installing CynagenMod 13, Stuck In a weird Recovery Bootloop

Hello Guys,
So i managed to fix my previous error. Now I'm at the end almost. I'm installing CynagenMod 13 on my N9005. I installed ClockworkMod Recovery, I think. I say I think because when i try to boot into it I get the below message.
"Recovery Booting"
"Set Recovery Bit : recovery"
Then it goes black and vibrates twice and boots normally.
I have the CynagenMod in a zip on my SD and the guide i am following refers to the ClockworkMod Recovery menu. The normal Recovery menu loads fine, ClockworkMod Recovery doesn't seem to load. Can i use the normal Recovery or does anyone know a way of getting ClockworkMod Recovery to work?
Root is not required to flash a custom rom or recovery.
Try flashing twrp and then flashing a rom from twrp.
