I've been having a strange problem recently. No root/ROM...etc
Whenever I play a YouTube video, and regardless of how blazing fast my internet is, the video keeps freezing and resuming while the audio continues uninterrupted. Any help there?
Thanks
Same problem with Netflix too
I'm having the same problem. Not just Youtube, Netflix as well. Only with mine; the audio lags behind the video. I would love to find a solution for this.
-Verizon Note 3
-Stock 4.4.2 that it shipped with.
-Audio lag on videos, right out of the box. No foreign apps installed yet besides Netflix.

Is anyone experiencing any issues with the builtin video player? I am currently on cm4.2.7 and have experienced this on others too, I will be streaming a video from youtube or other media websites and to begin with the player will work ok but after a while (couple of minutes) the videos start to stutter and eventually it fails.
I had to go back to my old stock rom for a few hours today and found that when I used the video player on that I had no problem at all.
Any ideas?
My atrix is ATT version, and everal days ago I updated to 2.3.4 by installing Cherryblur 1.4d, then changed to Alien #2.
Today I noticed the phone having audio playback issues: when playing music, it sometimes stutters, especially during locking/unlocking screen.
I have tried 2 different audio players: stock and Meridian player, but both of them have this issue. Is is common? Do you guys have such problem?
Yes I've noticed this as well. To me, it seems to be whenever the OS is *doing something*. So if I'm loading another app, for example, it will give a little "ffvvtttzzzfffttt" in the playback.
That being said, I haven't noticed it doing it anymore... Seems to have stopped by itself...
Weird little problem with my Galaxy S4, tried 3 different roms including stock 4.4.2.
Was wondering if someone knew of possible solutions.
videos freeze, audio keeps playing, then after a few seconds, the video resumes in fast forward, until it catches up with the audio.
It's nice that it forwards and catches up, but how can I prevent this?
At first I thought it was MX player, but I noticed it happened while using netflix as well.
Doesn't always happen, which is the annoying. I managed to watch 3 episodes of Dexter without a problem, then the 4th, problem.
On a different day, the first video I tried, it plays fine, then about 20 minutes into the video, freezes.
Aside from an Odin restore and wiping everything, does anyone have any suggestions on fixing video related problems on android?
Edit: Crap , it freezes when playing games too..GPU problems?
I started experiencing that large video playing on YouTube lags the sound, especially when a video is long. The sounds go way ahead from the video. It looks like the phone lacks the ram or performance but it has a decent tech specification, should be an issue, especially when I play a video on a low resolution. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
I have a similar issue with video playback. However, it is not only with youtube, it is with all videos. Even those on google photos, etc. The playback timer doesn't start, but the video starts with no sound, then the playback timer starts with the sound and the video freezes until the sound catches up with the video. The issue disappears with a restart and only started happening recently. Very odd.
Made an account for this lul... Anyways it seems like I fixed the issue on my phone, I disabled the mobile manager, let me know if that works for you. Good luck
I had to update youtube
I've the exynos variant of the Galaxy S8 and I've slight judder and frame skipping whenever I try watching videos on it using the stock player or any third party player for that matter. It only happens when the hardware decoder is selected to play the file.
On software deciding it plays just fine without any judder or frame skipping. I tried playing the files with other phones of mine and all of them play them flawlessly.
I was unable to understand why this has been happening. On apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime the video is buttery smooth without any judder or frame skipping. This only happens when I try to play the files that are stored on the phone. Can someone help me out?
