[Q] Wireless Charging Car Mount with Sview Case? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello! I'm brand new to the S5 fold (moved from a Note, to a Note 2, to an S5!), and I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with the few car docks out there that do wireless charging? I have the S-view case on my phone (with the added magnetic addon from Spigen, love it!), and I'd love to be able to use the wireless charging back with a car mount, preferably while the case is open. (Not sure how feasible that is however.)
Anyone have any ideas on if this would work? Thank you very much!

Does anyone know if NFC and Wireless charging work together? Like if I were to put the qi system in and use one of these little NFC tags, will they work together?

That's a great question. If there is anyone with a QI charger and an NFC Tag that can test this and give us a definitive result, that would be fantastic!
I just read up a bit on the Nokia wireless charger (model DT-910) and it actually has a feature that launches an app via NFC, when you place it on the wireless charging stand. I'm not sure if they just basically built an NFC Tag into the charger but if so, that would prove that wireless charging and NFC are able to work together.
Unrelated, but I couldn't get my S4 to NFC with my Nexus . . . yes both had the NFC batteries in!

I asked the seller of this kit on eBay - he says they're unlikely to work together. Still, that's inconclusive either way until someone actually tests it and reports back.
I have samsung charger and samsung back and I can confirm that the NFC sticker on the pad is NOT working

Hmm - I'm using the Nokia charger (DT-900) with the Samsung back, and it charges fine. The phone's NFC is working (I can use NFC tags). The charger doesn't have a NFC sticker on it, so can't confirm whether wireless charging *and* NFC work at the same time
Oh yeah nfc still works with the Samsung back... just won't read the sticker on the charger
(Apologies for the bump, but I came across this thread, and had to issue a correction.)

The charger doesn't *have* an NFC sticker.
And NFC Task Launcher has been renamed to Trigger. One of the reasons, I'd bet, is because it can now be triggered by things other than NFC. For example, one of the triggers it has now is "charging" and you can specifically set an action to be triggered when wireless charging. So, really, the wireless charger doesn't NEED an NFC sticker!
I've got a Qi charger and have tried 2 different wireless charging receivers with my S4. When the first receiver was installed the phone would very rarely read an NFC tag. I then purchased another receiver which claimed to be NFC compatible. That one seems to cause very few problems reading tags.
The problem now is when the NFC tag is stuck to the Qi charger pad: under those circumstances the phone usually won't read the NFC tag unless I move it around a bit, and even then it doesn't always work.
This was the 2nd (NFC compatible) receiver that I bought:

The original receiver was a gift, so I don't have a link for it. It has a white design, with no brand name on the label.

Try this one, I bought it and it works great. The second set of contacts are for NFC. Switched from one that was NFC compatible but you had to fight with it. This one is a major improvement.
I have galaxy s6 and Samsung original car mount
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EP-HN910IBUSTA
Nfc tag placed on this charger can't be read from s6.
If i place tag out of wireless charger, tag is good readed.
I have tried the same using S8 and it doesn't work simultaneously, QI charger and NFC, I put an NFC stick on the QI charger pad and it simply can't read the NFC, when I disconnect the USB cable from the charging station it reads the NFC.

[Q] Wireless Charging Possible on SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab4 10.1 WiFi ?

Hello to All,
I was wondering if any solution is available to wirelessly charge the SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 WiFi 16gb version?
This is for someone I know who finds it very difficult to plug the cable in to charge. So if you know of any solution at all, please share it.
Thanks in Advance.
You have a USB qi with charging module? Qi charging pad? Pretty straight forward. Of course you'll need to have access to your USB port and it will then be blocked.

[Q] Is there a mod for Wireless Qi Charging?

Anyone know of a mod for a Galaxy Grand Prime that would enable me to use Qi Wireless Charging?
I Dont want to use the ones that stick into the USB port and have a pad on the back.
I Want the kind where the pads entirely in the phone so I can still use the USB port for data transfer.
no

Actually it's possible to charge wirelessly in almost all devices.. Even devices like Nokia. What you need is a Qi Module or something. Idk where to find these. You can put these modules in your Micro-USB cable and get a really think case. Put the module in the case and put it back in. And put your phone into a wireless charger and your phone will start charging.
i used to have a case to do this along time ago, havnt seen them in a while though

car mount?

Hello does anybody know of any dash/window mount that will fit the note 10+? I have tried multiple but they either don't fit or the phone is to heavy and breaks the mount.

1. Buy the PITAKA case which is IMPOSSIBLY slim for the phone and actually has metal in the back of the case for the phone to stick strongly onto a MAGNETIC mount.
DO NOT buy the Pitaka Magnetic mount because it charges HORRENDOUSLY slowly and has a lousy way of mounting on the car.
2a. Log into the PROCLIP web site and enter your model car. Select a bracket which mounts the setup exactly where you would like.
2b. The next step is (on the same ProClip web site) to select the phone holder that would connect with that bracket for your car. However most of those phone holders require you to take the case off your phone. Instead, select the "MagicMount Pro Charge with ProClip Adapter and Tilt-Swivel". This magnetic phone holder looks similar to the Pitaka Magnetic mount but has much stronger magnets and charges MUCH faster with fast wireless charging. (This special magnetic mount is actually manufactured by Scoche, and they have a partnership agreement with ProClip).
I took a chance with the case from Pitaka but it works PERFECTLY with the ProClip phone holder magnets and charges the phone very fast. So very easy to attach and detach - just place your phone there, and when you are done and ready to leave your car - just grab the phone.
Check out what I suggested and let me know what you think. Works perfectly for me!

Thanks for the info a lil expensive for everything but I'll see what I can manage
At least it doesn't cost anything to investigate the options! Yes, I hear you, but if you are going to have it for years, it may be worth it to look at in that regard. Plus, when you switch phones you don't even need to change the anything in the car - and if you switch cars you only need to change the mounting bracket for the car and nothing else! That's the way I look at it. I didn't buy mine all at the same time either. I already had the phone case because I bought that at the same time as the phone -; I've been using those cases for years for my previous notes I love them - I already had an car mounting bracket from ProClip - and looked online and actually bought the magnetic scosche charging mount separately (came with a crappy generic mount for the air vent) - and it was even used on Amazon so that cost me only $8 LOL! - and my very last purchase was after reaching out to proclip people they sent me the piece they use to allow the Scosche magnetic mount to attach to any of the ProClip brackets. I already had the previous note holder connected right into the car's wiring instead of through the cigarette lighter, and although the wires I got for the new magnetic mount plugged in through the cigarette lighter, I checked the specs for both and they actually use the same exact voltage through the wire, so I cut both and just connected the leads and it works perfectly! So, even if you get a new car or a new phone, you never need to replace everything once you have gone down that road.
I got a cupholder mount from amazon. It has a gooseneck you can adjust for viewing. It works well in my truck. It just depends on where your cupholders are.

I've actually ordered the above. Looks like the solution I am looking for. I hate plugging in things and like the idea that I can just get in my car, put the phone one the magnetic base, charging initiates and away I go. Get home, grab the phone. I'll post my experience here.
