[Q] Bluetooth Priority or Connection Confirmation? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have several Bluetooth devices saved in my phone and have run into a problem recently. I'm using a Logitech Bluetooth receiver for my main audio system which is always on. When I arrive home my Bluetooth automatically switches from my car to my house and starts transmitting audio to my stereo speakers. You can see the problem with this.
My question is whether there is a way to set the Bluetooth to prompt when connecting or to not automatically connect? Alternatively, to set a priority so my car is first priority over my house?
I don't see any settings for this and was hoping maybe someone knows a workaround. I've used android for years and this is the first time I've run into this problem.

Unpair until you want to use it?
Use the settings to not use as audio until you want to?

Already tried not using as audio but it automatically reconnects and selects audio on it's own each time I deselect it . Unpairing kind of defeats the purpose. There has to be a solution to such an obvious problem. Today I was trying to use a portable Bluetooth speaker in another room and the Logitech keeps taking over.

As a workaround, how about using Trigger and make task like: When bluetooth connected to *Home BT Device* --> Media Stop
Or you can tweak it if there is some delay after connecting to start playing like: When bluetooth connected to *Home BT Device* --> Media Volume:0 --> Pause 5 seconds --> Media Stop -->

This should work....

BT Audio loosing settings

Hope someone can help me with my problem (Nothing found on XDA search).
I have a BT620s headset and it works great, both for stereo music and as a handsfree set.
The problem is, if I disconnect the bluetooth or answer a call I always loose the Wireless stereo. Under the BT devices is it still shows as selected but I always have to do a refresh reselect "wireless stereo" and save it again to get it working each time.
Is there something I can do to make it stick ie: registry setting?
Thanks
confirmed
Hi to All,
i have exactly the same problem. Actually, in my case even an alarm or a reminder switches the A2DP to mono and i am not able to go back to stereo without a soft reset....
Anyone have an idea?

Bluetooth stereo headset

hi fellow 3g owners,
I wanted to ask if any of you has found away around 2 annoyances i have.
First. When i listen to music through my bluetooth headset and i need to use the internet the music stops playing when the 3g connection starts. i use the htc audio manager to play music. Is there any way around this?
Second. Is there an easier way to connect your bluetooth headset. i use the comm manager to turn on bluetooth, then go to bluetooth settings and long tap on the device to turn on the option "set wireless headset". especially that last bit annoys me cuz i like to use my fingers and its very difficult to long tap on the bluetoothdevice seen as it is so small.
with kind regards

Bluetooth connection starts Mediaplayer

I want to use my TD2 with my bluetooth handsfree set, but it starts the mediaplayer, everytime a connection was established. Is there a way to prevent windows mobile to start the mediaplayer in this szenario?
Tube
I have the same issue, but its when pairing with my car stereo (Bluetooth handfree), but it also start streaming music through the line1 connection to my car stereo !!!
Funny I always wanted to do this, but could not, so went the integrated Ipod route, now I can I don't bloody want it.
Anyway, so far no solution
Same story to me. Also issue's bluetooth. when i want to controll my phone with bluetooth, it starts mediaplayer automaticly.
Hello, does anyone have a solution for this problem? my girlfriend has the same problem.
Have you tried disabling the "wireless stereo" (A2DP) service? Go to Comms manager-Bluetooth-Advanced, then tap and hold on the offending item till the menu comes up, choose "edit", then uncheck "Wireless stereo", leaving just the handsfree profile checked.
I'm assuming you're not interested in the stereo music function, of course!
Already tried that, if you do that you lose BT to the car.
Odd as there are three connections:
- Hands free;
- Wireless stereo;
- Serial port.
Trying any combination aside from handsfree & wireless stereo on, results in losing BT via the car stereo

Have you tried pairing it again from scratch rather than modifying the existing profile? If you delete the car stereo from the list, and then re-pair them using the windows pairing dialogue (rather than the TF3D one) I think you get the chance to specify right from the start which profiles you want to use before you connect,if I remember right.
You might even need to delete the TD2's registration info in your car stereo, if possible, either through the menu of the stereo, or by registering another basic phone before trying the TD2 again. This would work if your car stereo can only store the details of one bluetooth device at a time.
As a last resort you could try disabling A2DP on the TD2 through the registry.
Bluetooth has come a long way, I remember when it was complete crap, now it usually goes smoothly, but every now and then the crap side shows up again and causes massive frustration. I've got a Parrot Party speaker, which when there's a break of more than 15 seconds or so in the music from the TD2, the connection lapses. It still looks like it's connected, on both units, but it's not. You have to turn the speaker off, close the music player app, then re-link both for it to work again. I'm sorry it's off-topic, just venting about the "crap side" of Bluetooth.

Thanks, i've tried every which way so far, but the problem remains, I found the only workaround is to remove any today or touchflo music tabs, at least that stops my TD2 steaming and drawing battery. Instead it opens windows media player, but i've purposely left that empty so at least nothing is being played (i.e. drawing power)
Bluetooth has come a long way, thats so funny you say that, I always wanted to be able to do this, but now my ipod is integrated into my car i don't.
Has anyone figured this out yet? Windows Media Player starts when connecting to the bluetooth factory fitted car kit when I don't want it to !
Is there a reg hack to stop Windows Media Player starting when the pairing takes place on the car's ignition?
Thanks!
T-back's 6.5 BT driver.cab
I had the same problem and I solved it installing T-back's 6.5 BT driver.cab

I am not sure whether T-back's 6.5 BT driver.cab has some drawbacks as claimed in the above thread, I am using pocketmusic on my Topaz wm6.5.1 italian paired with a parrot mk6000, still have some minor issues I can live with

X10 and BT A2DP...

Hi guys!
So, the Xperia support A2DP just fine, also in combination with my car stereo (a Pioneer Avic D3BT set). However, I find that when I start playing audio (doesn't matter if this is music or satnav guidance) before I start the car (and hence the stereo set), not only will the audio not be re-routed to the stereo, but the phone also fails to connect with the A2DP part. Phone audio (headset profile) is connected OK, though.
Is this normal behaviour/has anyone seen the same behaviour?
Oh, and if anyone has a way of transferring contact to the phonebook of the car, I'd be delighted to hear about it. For me, it will immediately disconnect if I even attempt to transfer a phonebook item.
Hey Stampot. I have a Pioneer BROWSE system(BTB200) and I have the same problem. I find if I activate the phone bt after the car is on, A2DP connects fine. But if I do it the other way around,I only get phone audio. To fix I either have to disable/enable the phone bt or (the faster way) toggle the a2dp option. I'm hoping a de/firmware upgrades fixes the prob.

Its works better when u start the car first and that should not be a problem, shouldn't????
Its the same with every Bluetooth Headset. U can do it with the other way, but u must choose the Audioconnection in the Bluetoothsettings manually.

[Q] How to disable automatic start of music when connected to BT

Everytime My Galaxy S5 (G900F) is connected to my inbuilt BT handsfree in my car (Skoda Octavia) music player is turned on automatically and it starts to play music. (I cannot hear music because car audio has selected Radio mode not BT audio)
Do you know how to disable it please?
It is not possible to disable it in settings of BT, Music Player, Car Mode, Sounds. I dont want to disable BT audio at all, because I sometimes use it.
Thanks
Michal
This maybe something to do with your car kit or settings? I don't have that problem when connecting to my factory fitted car kit.
Try the "places" setting in "location settings" and use the BT connection to tell the phone you are in the car.
Places were already done - Car via BT connection as you suggested. Not solved

Sorry for my poor english, once connected go to bluetooth settings and select the option of your connected car (the gear symbol on the right) once there uncheck the multimedia option.
No problem, but I know about this option. As I wrote "I dont want to disable BT audio" because I sometimes use it There must be another way to disable it
