Guys, is the following
I'm from Brazil first.
Here in Brazil the frequency of the 4G signal is used for HD television.
For this reason, they say that cell in japan and the united states do not work 4G, so that is saying even if it is sold here in europe or not ... because it does not work. (Models from europe work)
How I bought my phone in paraguay, he is probably in japan and have not tested the 4g (I have enabled chip for it yet)
How do I check for the frequencies that my mobile phone work?
Could someone help?

I'm new to all this, but can anyone help me? I had the HTC Touch Dual purchased in the UK and i gave it to my brother in the USA, he says the phone sometimes cuts him off, he has spoken to a few people that said this phone doesn't support the 1800 network. is this true and if so is this a hardware problem or can the ROM be upgraded??
Many thanks
There are three versions of the Touch Dual, GSM EUrope, GSM North AMerica and CDMA. Most likely you have the GSM europe version. AT&T USA requires the 850/1900 bands for bothe Voice and 3g data.
this is a hardware restriction. You are SOL.
I want to get a Nexus S for myself, the unlocked without contract one, because I would like to use it in my home country (Malaysia).
So I would like to confirm one thing before I proceed:
I saw this from BestBuy forum FAQs:
Will an unlocked Nexus S work with carriers other than T-Mobile?
Yes, but it won’t run on 3G with all carriers. Speed and power will be reduced on non-3G networks.
Is that means that even though Nexus S did support the 3G band of my home country, it won't run on the 3G network?! Means that I can't use the 3G in my home country?
Anyone have answer for this? Anyone tried buy N1 and got the 3G working in country outside US?
gotta be 1700/2100 MHz i believe
Wont' work. Malaysia uses 2100mhz band for 3G.
The Nexus S on T-Mobile uses BOTH 1700/2100mhz AT THE SAME TIME for 3G.
It will work fine since the 3G band in Malaysia is 2100MHz and the Nexus S supports those bands.
I had the Nexus One (T-Mobile Version) in Thailand and it worked perfectly fine on 2100MHz 3G. My N900 worked as well.
Don't listen to nxt or slowz3r they have no idea of what they are talking about.

You wont have a problem with most 3g phones in Malaysia - most of the rest of the world uses standard frequencies and the nexus s and nexus 1 work just fine.
If a phone works in Europe then it'll be fine in malaysia, and indeed most of the rest of the world.
Most of the noise on here is from people in the US where there are some weird frequencies being used... you can only use 3g on T-Mobile there -at+t uses different frequencies, and sprint and Verizon use a completely different technology.
Thank you for all the useful replies!
Got the answer. Thread Closed.
Hello guys,
I bought a Galaxy Note 3 (LTE version) from the UAE and am now using it in Canada. However, I am not getting LTE connectivity. My telecom provider (Virgin Mobile) does have LTE connectivity, but my phone only gets H+ or 4G while using data.
I believe this is due to my Note 3 firmware not supporting the LTE bands used in Canada, but again, I'm not sure as I am not very good with these things.
Is there anything I can do (i.e. update firmware) to get LTE support on my device in Canada?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
It's probably correct assuming that your LTE bands are not available to you, not on the device but the actual firmware - AFAIK N9008w is the .ca version, same hardware etc just different software. - dunno if w8 firmware can be flash on to it, doubt it as it can't be done the other way around..
However, there *may* be a radio fix, you'd need to search around.
Are you certain that you are using an LTE capable sim card?
You will only be able to get LTE if your sim card is LTE capable.
Since you are getting HSPA it seems that your APN's are fine
I checked with my mobile provider and I do have a LTE capable SIM card. I guess the LTE bands on my international Note 3 are not supported by Bell Canada.
Also, when go under "About Device" the very last box says "United Arab Emirates" (where it tells the TRA ID and TA). Also, my Baseband version is N9005XXUDMJ7
Not sure if any of this information is helpful, but I would appreciate any assistance in anything I can do to somehow get LTE connectivity on my phone. However, I want to avoid doing anything extreme to my phone.
Thanks

your device can only do LTE on 2600MHz on Bell Network...
2600MHz coverage is very limited...
chez this map : http://network.bell.ca/en/coverage
Max 150mbps zones are where you will get the 2600MHz coverage.

Thanks for the reply. I have realized that when I am in the 2600MHz zone I get "4G" connection shown on my phone not "LTE".
A friend of mine got his Note 3 from Bell and his phone shows "LTE" when he is in those zones.
I might have to go with Rogers, but I have had a horrible experience with them.

On some phones, 4G is LTE... so I think you are fine
Sent from my SM-N900 with Tapatalk
4G is the fourth generation of mobile phone mobile communication technology standards and the common name.
LTE (Long term Evolution) is the Technology term for the actual standard used for 4G in most countries.

So if the phone says 4G in Canada that uses LTE then you have the faster connection.
Hi
I recently went to US on vacations and bought a NEXUS 6P US Version, I live in Panama (CA) and never realized that the lte band on my phone wasn't the same as my carrier.
Now I'm really frustrated without lte .....
It is possible to change the radio settings on my phone to work on lte 700 MHZ B28..?
Please helpppp
I have an XT1644 and I am going to Greece in September. My carrier (cricket wireless) is able to add international calling and data for a low-cost fee for the time I am over there. My question is, will my phone work on the bands within Greece or will I need to get a new phone for the time I am over there and then switch back? I couldn't find any answers on this while looking on the forums.
and Moto g4 plus on the frequency check website looks like it would work without a problem on 2/3 bands. Is this true?
Based on my phone specs listed and the bands from the link above It seems it will work but I do not want to be stranded without data when I get over there. :fingers-crossed:
From what I can tell, your XT1644 should work in Greece Your device has support for LTE 3 and 7 (1800 MHz, 2600 MHz) though is missing LTE band 20 (800 MHz) as you've noted. Seems that most carriers have support for bands 3 and 7 so it looks like you'll get LTE (hopefully a nice signal in the region you're in). A useful website for seeing which carriers will play nice with your device is: http://willmyphonework.net/
Seems that most of the 4G/LTE operators (e.g. Cosmote, Frog, Vodafone and Wind) there have decent coverage of Greece (from their coverage maps).
Well it looks like I read the agreement wrong for Cricket. It is from the US to that country. My phone will work but I will have to get a temporary card from Greece in order for it to work. Any suggestions on that one?
Get a local SIM card like Vodafone. They constantly have deals for new customers, offers for higher data. I think it is something like 20 Euros.
Lack of band 20 is not important, Vodafone in EU have a strong H/H+ (3G) network usually in the rural areas (where LTE 20 might be deployed) and the G4 Plus has all the needed bands for that.
PS: I am returning from Romania now, where with Vodafone and equivalent of $20, by playing with the offers, I had 44GB of data for my vacation. Plus 900 phone minutes with US. In Romania, the 3G speeds where around 19/5 Mbps, on 4G (they don't display LTE) I had speess up to 66/22Mbps.
