Wifi issue and dead pixel - Galaxy Tab 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone else have wifi issue or is it just because tab 4 wifi signal is weak? I have no issue with any other devices but for tab 4, it would constantly disconnect and reconnect every 5 to 10 minutes; strangely it occurs more frequently at night. Also, on my tab 4 8" there are about 5 or 6 dead pixels at the centre of the screen. I need some advice of how to deal with this. Any solution? I try the dead pixel fix it app hut to no avail.
I live in coquitlqm, canada btw. And I have tried to call samsung, but it was a pain in the back, to say the least. They redirect me to richmond samsung store but there's one in metrotown too which is easier and more convenient for me get to. Is there anyway to tell if they replace for you a new one or refurbished one?

A few problems with my Nexus 4, what to do?

Hi! I bought my Nexus 4 two days ago and I've been having a few issues with it. I still haven't flashed it yet so I have 2 weeks to return it to the store. It came with 4.2.2
Here are the problems I have :
- When playing music over bluetooth with my wireless headset there's stuttering every once in a while... some time the audio cuts for a good 1 or 2 seconds.
- When making calls (through the phone, not with a bluetooth device) the sound quality is bad. I don't know how to describe the problem but it's as if at higher volume, the little speaker vibrates and make an annoying noise.
-I turned all sounds/vibration off because I was using the phone in the bed while my girlfriend was sleeping next to me. Yet, some times, when I touch the screen to open a page I could hear a small "click" sound.
Now I'm quite sure the two last issues can be fixed by changing the phone for another Nexus 4. For bluetooth problems, I think it may be related to a bug in 4.2.2. (based on posts of Galaxy Nexus owners who said their bluetooth worked fine in 4.1 but they had similar problems to what I had in 4.2.x)
THe big question I'm asking myself is this one :
-Should I get another Nexus 4 or should I go for the Galaxy SIII ?
Edit : What makes me afraid of the Galaxy SIII are the physical buttons on the screen. I prefer the way the Nexus 4, no buttons, more space for the screen. The CPU and RAM seems better in the Nexus 4. Does it make a huge difference compared to the Galaxy SIII ? I had a Nexus S before and it was quite slow compared to my new N4... a point for the SIII is that there is LTE coverage in my area. Is it really worth it? I only have 1 gig of data anyway...
Just return it and get a replacement.

What kind of headset do you have? I have a JayBird Freedom headset and it would cut out with all of my phones that have Bluetooth 4.0. I have a plantronics set of ear buds that doesn't ever cut out. It might be worth trying a different headset. I think you would be happy with either phone, there is a ton of dev support for the gs3, plus lte. The quality of the nexus 4 is not as good as the gs3 in my opinion. But for the price and updates from google, the nexus 4 is better for me.

The headset is a Monoprice brand handset. (Cannot post link...)
It is bluetooth 3.0 and It works well with my Nexus S, my girlfriend's iPhone, and 3 computers. I don't really want to get a new pair for the Nexus 4 only. For now I'm thinking of using my Nexus S as a MP3 player at work, hoping a future update will fix bluetooth.

GPS and mobile died after 10 hours of nonstop use

I have a stock Galaxy S4 google edition.
I drove from Chicago to Philadelphia and used the phone as GPS via Google navigation. I was connected to LTE from T-Mobile.
After I arrived and reboot the phone it stopped getting mobile network (no bars), cannot make any calls and GPS cannot fix the location anymore (in fact gps icon doesn't appear anymore when I run google maps).
The sim card works fine, as I checked it at T-Mobile office and I do have a valid plan and etc.
I tried factory reset, via settings and via boot menu, but nothing changed.
Luckily google agreed to send a replacement.
Did anyone have this kind of issue before?

Although im a samsung owner but I believe that its not a quality devices, I owned 5 HTC devices before the S4 and I can tell you that compared to samsung htc seems like a real genuine device, I just bought the S4 for the smart/air stuff as a change, its a good device but no quality whatsoever

Not sure why you think that Samsung devices are low quality, if you are thinking because its plastic feels cheap then I disagree with you. I had many friends using Samsung devices such as the S3 and Note 2 and fewer friends owning HTC devices. However, my Samsung friends except for one whose phone cannot switch on for no reason had no problems with their phones. However for my HTC friends, one of them who just used his phone barely 1/2 year is having problems with his power button. The other also had problems with his power button and recently his LCD just refused to switch on.
As for me myself, I owned S1, S3 and now S4 and I had no problems with any of the devices. All of them are still working perfectly. I also owned a LG Nexus 4. That device feels more "expensive" than any Samsung devices. It feels more solid but however just using it like 2 months. The power button spoilt. Then I fixed it myself and about 6 months later, the touchscreen's digitizer starts to spoilt and due me giving up that phone for an S4.
This is my second Galaxy S4 GE btw. The first one had a malfunctioning proximity sensor. Basically when you make a phone call holding a phone on a distance, the screen goes black immediately. I returned it to google for a replacement too.

Galaxy note 4 Android 5.0 POOR Signal

Hey Guys,
I Bought my Galaxy Note 4 a few days ago " In Kuwait - Arabian Region " and I updated it to the new Samsung release Android 5.0 for Note 4, and I have been having POOR/SLOW Signal on my note 4 compared to my old Xperia Z1.
I get low signal and slow data internet I have checked with my coworker and he have the same issue on his phone, but an old Mobile Phone such as the Xperia Z1 with lolipop doesn't have this issue :'(
Does anyone have this issue or know how to fix it
I tried to :
Hard Reset x2 times
Format Phone x2 Time
Cleared Cache 3x Times
Kies firmware recovery tool ( One Time )
And all of them didn't do anything or improve my Signal
Having the same problem here with BOE1, 2 & 3.. it's modem related i suppose.. if you're still on BOC something don't update to any of the BOE versions.. try flashing the BOC5 UAE firmware.. had the best reception with it
I have the same problem in uk. My iphone 6+ was great everywhere.

This has been my experience with the Note 4 as well (I've had it for over 6mo). Whenever I use it I miss/drop calls frequently and data connectivity is spotty at best. Unfortunately if it weren't for the continuously weak signal, this would be a perfect device for me. Even my Nexus 5 has a significantly better antenna/radio.
Agreed. Last week I was on a picnic in the mountains and all of my friends had signal/reception on their phones (moto g first gen, htc 8x...), except for my note 4; not to mention, we have the same carrier... Was quite disappointed tbh. Oh, and I am still on BOC3, as it's the latest official software here.
it's modem related i suppose..
Same issue after upgrading my 910f to lollipop, though I had the same issue with a LG G3 after upgrading that.
I'm in a weak signal area most of the time, and have gone from ~1% time without signal to ~15% without.
That is strange? Have you tried restoring your Note 4 to it's base factory settings?
Same here although if I switch off 4G it's better.
Hi, i change my S5 to the note 4 and doesn't notice better performance, battery last the same.
But i notice reception is worst than the S5.
Because im all day data on and today i see only have 2 bars at home when S5 is always full.
Really don't know what to do.
Top phone S5.

It happens to me too. At first, I thought it was a new feature of the Note to save battery or something like that, but now I see perhaps is a bug, and a common one.
Im now changing for a new one in the store and if it does the same i will change for the s6 or lg g4.
has anyone who has updated to 5.1.1, and was having this issue, seen an improvement?

S7 edge and Android wear Watch

Anyone have an Android wear watch paired with the s7e?
I bought a zenwatch 2 recently and think of buying an s7e but I read in an other threat that the note 5 often disconnected from the watch.
What is your experience with s7e (especially the exynos version) and Android wear watches?
The disconnecting might be tied to the last version of Android wear, it was a common problem of disconnects constantly. A update was pushed recently that fixed it. I don't have my s7e yet to test it with but I'm willing to bet that was what it was.

I Hope that was the reason.
I want to buy it asap because of the promo.
I have a note 5 and a Moto 360 gen2... It never disconnects after the last update. Was disconnecting constantly before that.

I have the S7 edge and a Moto 360 gen 1 and have no issues with the watch at all. I came from the Note 5 where I did not have any issues either. A bonus was when I reset my watch for the S7 edge it finally pushed the Marshmallow update to my 360!
I have Huawei watch and it works perfectly with S7E. I had lots of disconnect with Note 5 and found out the problem was defective BT chip on Note 5.

Really looking forward to testing out a better BT chip on the S7e. I've been using the Note 5 with some BT headphones that require me to turn wifi off in order to keep a connection of more than 2 feet (literally won't work if the phone is in my pants pocket).
Have you noticed better BT with the S7e overall? Or just a better Hwatch connection?

S7E BT is light years better than Note 5. And it's not my Huawei watch. I also have LG G watch and getting great distance from the new phone. With Note 5, I have issue connecting to my car audio. I had to connect/disconnect a few times before the music/audio will finally work with it. With S7E, the phone gets connected to car within seconds. Very happy with the purchase so far.
Have S7E, two days connected with moto 360 gen 1 with no issues. Came from Nexus 6.

Can't make calls on my Zenwatch 2 (with Samsung Galaxy S7 edge)
Hey, I've got a ASUS Zenwatch 2 and used it on my Samsung Galaxy S4 for quite some time, worked nicely, just a little slow because the S4 was slow as well. But since I got myself a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, I can't make calls on my Zenwatch directly anymore. It just starts the call on the phone and then I HAVE to pick up the phone and speak there, the call just won't go through to the watch via bluetooth. The bluetooth symbol also shows no active connection, however I DO receive all notifications on my watch and have internet access on it. Does anyone know how I can make calls on my watch again?

you may need to manually update the software. you are probably several upodates behind since s4 is at least 3 generations old.
check the manufacturer website for any updates.

The watch has the latest software installed, that much I can assure you, I've checked. That's why it's beyond me why calling over bluetooth worked on an old Samsung phone but not with the latest.
